I think "regret" isn't what they meant. You know sometimes it's hard to find the actual word you're meaning. I think what they mean is that .. before you have children.. you can be care-free and have those gaming marathons.. into early hours of the morning.. and all they're saying is they miss that.
You know..
I stopped playing my PS1 after my son became more mobile thus pulling it off the shelf.. grabbing my controller etc. .. then I knew it was time to give it up .. oh gosh how I miss Breath of Fire IV

My Ex .. was still into his gaming and played on a regular but not as often basis .. I bought him a PS2 and he bought me Singstar .. so I slowly got back into gaming .. Sims .. being a great time waster of mine .. in and out of the gaming world I was.. as life commitments were more important.
xbox 360 .. with the FPS games I have began playing have opened up a new world of gaming for me lol .. and I try to play every free moment I have! have a great bunch of people that I play with that make my gaming experience fun.
All they mean.. is that as life commitments with family are now more important.. they don't get to game as much as they used to and heck they really love playin... just think of it as a great hobby .. that you don't get to do as often as you used to. Regret has nothing to do with it.
