i'm sorry but you are wrong,
The european union is second largest asia as the largest and amrica is third by almost 1 billion.

We are talking about GTA game markets here.....

US bought 4.5 million copies of GTA 4
Europe bought 2.5 copies
and Asia was really low like 2 million

So again. America is the largest video game market for GTA

That does not matter. Are you saying that Americans won't buy a GTA game becasue it's not in America? I play the GTA games becasue I like them, even though they are baised in a forgien nation.

Exactly, all great.

If anyone in the US would refuse to buy a GTA game just because it was set in Europe, then I'm sure you're doing the "bigoted American" stereotype proud. I feel bad for the rest of you who realize there is in fact a world outside the maps drawn by Fox News.

Bigoted ha! Japan won't buy western games just because they are western. No one gives them crap. I buy GTA thats made by a British company. I buy candadians RPGs all the time. I don't give a crap where its made as long as its a good game. ALL I AM SAYING IS THAT GTA SET IN EUROPE WILL BE BORING.

Anyways everyone who says the US is dumb and talks about how enlightened Europe is, thats bigotry and assery on a unprecedented level. I want to puke every time I hear some illiformed jackass who has some utopian view of content that has a well illustrated history of racism, wars, genocide, and oppression. And this is another reason why I don't want it to be in Europe because I will not stand for this pretentious crap.

I would buy the game and wouldn't really care what location it was in. It would be the same ***, drugs & violence that's been in every GTA so what does it matter where this takes place.

Just a brief note the main thing that makes GTA games fun.... the gang members you meet and i'm pretty sure a majority of them are not amarican.

Mainly from the general area around europe,

Also the getaway was a really fun game which at some points i enjoyed slightly more then gta at the time.

Then you have GTA london which is still pretty fun.

USA stupidity never ceases to amaze me (not all of you). Why the hell would it be GTA Europe? You do know Europe is massive? BIGGER then America.. its made up of lots of different countries.. A GTA LONDON COULD WORK... East London... Americans aren't very educated in modern day "britain" as you guys call it. Gun and Knife crime is very high in London. There are proper east end cockney gangsters, plus imagine the extensive underground system, all the famous land marks... Sure it probs won't be chosen as a location, but you guys seriously underestimate how the game could be IF it was set in London. The rest of europe wouldn't work, as they don't speak english.

It annoys me how many Americans always seem to refer to Europe as a country rather than a continent.

2. i'd buy th game no matter where it was set, as i love the GTA franchise
3. i can see everyones point, most americas like to be able to identify with there surrounding and with GTA making most there citys semi based on actual us location its just a nice feel to us, i can see where other countrys sell might decline cause of this as im sure they to would like the same feel of being able to travel through say a fictional place they know. weather that will happen is still under raps and only R* knows but if thats the way they play there cards then i will be packing my virtual bags and taking a trip across the water, thank god for xbox live cause i'll be runnig around with some locals going whats this parody, whats this , ohhhhhh thats cool, lets blow it up, lol viva la GTA

Really is that what I think? I am glad you laid it down for me. Crazy how you know, I have been to Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, Venice, and Rome, I traveled all those kilometers (because they use the metric system, but I wouldn't want to confuse you). Yet I thought it was one nation even thoe I had to use my passport several times. Its crazy how I didn't realize that they were different countries. Hmm I guess I will figure that out when I go to London this spring.

You know nothing about me.

Well now since you are speaking about British politics I would like to say that I greatly appreciate the old British Whig party and Georgiana Cavendish. I also greatly respect Churchill and Thatcher. Also Daniel Hannan is a political hero of mine.

But I wouldn't want to break the assumptions of the people here that I am xenophobic, bigoted, and a moron. Please excuse me if I left out any insults, I meant no harm.

I'm not a part of this argument, but assuming you guys are Europeans who are trying to insult his intelligence I have to call you on it. You act arrogant and above Americans for being "arrogant and thinking they're above everybody" yet you distastefully show your ignorance of America and Americans by saying "He thinks it's 4 square miles and we live in small shack villages". Get over yourselves, seriously. I dealt with people like this in Copenhagen and it disgusted me when they acted like I was some arrogant, ignorant American who didn't know anything when in fact they were so arrogant with themselves that they had the nerve to look down on me for some arrogance they THOUGHT I had. I met some really cool people there as well, but some A holes as well.

So rather than generalizing Americans as ignorant, get your stereotypes right before you look ignorant for spewing it. Before you call us all arrogant, stop treating Americans as if they are automatically dumber than you. This is very specific to Gamer Tom, who makes his arrival by saying "US ignorance never ceases to amaze me".

I also don't agree with him not wanting to play a GTA in europe. I'd play one because no matter where GTA took place, be it in London or on the Moon, it would be one of the best games ever.

Whichever word you choose to use is fine. But just because he doesn't want to play the game in a different country doesn't mean he's stupid and ignorant. Just means he's being selfish or greedy as you said.

We all know a lot of Americans are ignorant because they're too caught up in their Ipods, their MTV and their *ahem* 360s but that's with any country because the new generation of children are to materialized to care about anything else.

When I said about the ignorance never ceases to amaze me it wasn't aimed at every American, but... every person I have ever heard spout random rubbish they believe about outside their AMAZING AMERICA they have been an American.. nobody from other countries assumes such random sterotypes. To be honest, SOME Americans actually believe England is full of people drinking tea and eating crumpets playing polo or what not... which is what a very few select very upper class ie royalty do.

And I've had people from London ask me if there were coconuts in the palm trees at Santa Monica beach here in LA. But I don't go around judging all English people as ignorant.

A lot of Europeans believe most Americans are violent, power hungry savages who think we run the world and can tell everybody what to do. Our citizens = nothing like our government.

A lot (such as yourself as proven previously) also classify us all as ignorant and that we believe everything Fox news says and know nothing of foreign countries. You call us ignorant for believing the tea and crumpet stereotype, when in actuality any American with an IQ of 56 knows it's just that, a stereotype. It's a stereotype in itself to assume that we all believe that.

Yes, some Americans can't point Iraq out on the globe but say we shoudl bomb it. There are those people in every country, but it's not all of us. So saying "ignorance of the US" is very ignorant of you, yourself.

All I'm saying is don't stereotype us all as ignorant and stupid. There are stupid people everywhere and here is no different. But neither is there. So let's agree that stupid people exist in all regions on every rock and stop with the stereotypes.

@ Mattes55

Who cares that gun crime isn't so high in Europe? Why does it matter that most policemen don't carry a gun here?

As if a policeman will shoot at you for accidentally reversing your car into a cop car in America. As if military vehicles can be driven by civilians in the cities of America. As if half of the missions in all GTA IV games even take place in America on a regular basis (robbing a subway with a heli, killing an entire police squad, etc).

You say GTA would be boring if based in Europe - but the same could be said about America. You seem to forget that there's a ton of fictional elements in GTA games and that this could just as well be used to enhance the gameplay in any setting in the world.
