Look guys the arguement is simple, play Madden 360 in HD and Play ESPN NFL 2k5 in HD and hands down NFL 2k5 wins over player models, sideline detail, lighting, and other frame rates...Madden wins in the stadium crowd and jumbo tron area...other than that..2k5 is dominate. Madden 360 is not a major leap, not even a tip toe in a corner.

Madden is not graphically impressive...and to be honest..they stole, I mean borrowed 2k's look when it comes to their game. Madden 360 almost doesn't even look like a Madden game...looks more like a polished dreamcast version of 2k. Even with the kick meter, 2k5's playbook system.

But Madden still lacks what 2k always provided. Solid gameplay and incredible presentation. EA is about profit, not performance. Their games suck, even at 19.99 with a great game 2k5 produced its still more complete and impressive than the $60 Madden 360.

I thought NBA2k6 on 360 was basically the same game just with better graphics and a few things missing.

i noticed that on every commercial for the new madden they still can't get the body types right. not everyone in the nfl has muscles especially muscles that big on their legs.

too much to read here, but Madden on the 360, or any system doesnt compare to ANY 2K, madden on 360 is more like NFL Fever 06, I play it because i NEED football, but this game is just subpar compared to what 2K would have done on the 360...

2K5 still wins. Been playing Madden 360 but the only thing decent is improved graphics. I love the league feature of 2K5 with solid owners that continue without quitting. If you must have Madden I suggest waiting for 07 and I'm sure it will be even better but if 2K came out with a generic game I'd go that route. Just my 2 cents

I played Madden 360 and you know what I find it reminesent to? NFL Fever. Remember NFL Fever for Xbox? Thats what Madden 360 reminds me of. The only thing Madden 360 has over 2K5 is graphics. And they aren't even that much better. EA thinks that buy giving us a visual package that they can wow customers into buying thier new pigskin game. Well, it takes more than Graphics to make a good Footbal game. 2K5 is lightyears ahead of anything EA Sports has right now (Let's not forget, VC used to develop Madden for EA). The only thing I fear is that EA will slowly attempt to steal all the features that make 2K5 superior and put it in Madden 2007. 2K Games needs to hurry up and have that Football Legends game for sale by August, because while EA will try to steal as much as it can from 2K Football, they will never be able to steal the superior game engine that 2K5 is made of, and Football Legends will be an improvement of. Finally, if Madden 360 feels like NFL2K5, then EVERY single critic who has reviewed it would have given it higher than a 7.5 (which is the highest I have seen any magazine or web site rate it). No, it would have got the 9.0-9.3 across the board that 2K5 received only a short year ago. I challenge you to write to any professional critic if Madden 360 feels like 2K5, and see if you are laughed off your computer!

 

Mantis, thats waht i just wrote, its like Fever 2006, feels just like the first fever ever made, and about a generic game to the guy 2 posts up, i would def buy that over madden 07, if we get an unlicensed game, ill def be all over that game...

The graphics might be better on madden 360 but the gameplay is still horrible.  ESPN 2k5 is still the best overall football game out there and untill EA lifts their monopoly on the NFL it will be.

Dude pick it up on the web it is alot cheaper than at the store your getting your 360 from I bet!

well to sum it up  ....this madden is decent and seems to be moving in the direction of more sim style play similiar to that of 2k...i been on 2k since dreamcast so i know 2k sports..........2k5 was the second best football game ever put out  imo.....2k3 without a doubt  is the top of the heap.....now it seems ea is moving in the right direction alot of 2k like features when it comes to how plays actual work and how u have to set things up  like a sim football game should be.....still has a way to go to be compared to 2k football but heding the right direction it is.......................:)  if they continue to move in this type of a gmaeplay direction ..alot of football fans are gonna be happy and next year since they have more time they will put all the cheesie  create a fan and mascot offline type stuff that the madden fanboys like and with the gameplay improving us 2k gamers can have a solid football game to play online ..hopefully with leagues as well ...and not pay to play leagues...like i think ea is gonna try to do......but just remember ............2k isnt out of the football game market just yet...and if they are atleast madden seems to be heading in the right direction.....

2k basketball is by far the best sports title out on 360..........and what is this guy talking about...baseball season starts april first and mlb 2k is coming in march...lol........but he does have one thing right...u cant bash this madden 360....they took the cheese out ..stripped it down and improved gameplay...u actually have to know football know when u play...u cant just call any defense and stop the run and throw it deep every play and score....like madden has become known for......they are improving without a doubt

A generic football game with fake updated rosters wouldn't be bad.  Visual Concept has a chance to grab people with madden not really making any noise

 

Interesting fact Visual Concept made Madden 94-95, EA lost a good developer to sega.

I will never buy Madden for the 360...I'm extremely pissed off that the future of  sport's game supremecy will not be determined by quality of product, but by exclusivity deals. EAT MY A$$ EA...you've monopilized the industry and taken choice away from us...what I don't get is why EA wasn't satisfied with 4 million copies of Madden sold EVERY CALENDER YEAR! It's the top selling game every year, yet they still wanted more...what a worthless, cheap and money hungry company. Settle in for 7 years of the same rehashed football game fellas, it's all downhill from here.

well man....im a 2ker.....but the reason the madden put out the money for the nfl  was due to espn 2k5 blowing madden out of the water........they got scared about their market and did what business's due.....but even tho i dont like madden games this game is an improvement from previous madden's that i have demo'd in the past few years...............but really dont hate on ea ..hate on the nfl  for allowing one company to have exclusive rights.............and to all those who will come back and say well 2k has the rights to baseball ....they have 3rd party rights....ms and sony  are allowed to make mlb baseball games......2k just got the 3rd party rights to stick it to ea and the nfl  for starting all the exclusive bs wars

The people that say Madden 06 sux are just haters to the 5th power. Man just get over it OK it's done and over with. There will not be a 2K6,7,8,9 or 10 so you have to suck it up and play the next best thing and that's madden. And it's funny how you can say 2K5 is better than madden 06 when you have a list of rules you have to go by before you play anyone online because of all the glitches. Man the main thing I like about Madden is there is no glitching online. So quit saying the game is trash when the game is nice and i've played the 2k series longer than most people that still post here. *** i'm one of the original 2k ballers from Dreamcast that started.

nope i have to say im changing my mind on this game.....as they do seem to have gotten better with the gameplay.......player movements and ai smarts and such.....what is with ...no forwar momentum ...no penalties really called ever.....4 minute ranked games...what a joke .....went back to playing the orignal xbox when i want some football......2k5 still gltich free and still number 1

  i sold madden back....what a waste of 20 bucks ..i got 40 trade in for it .....but thats my buddy who works for eb that i get smoked up.....but still...masted 20...oh yeah i got it for xmas ..so im 40 to the good.....much rather have 40 than this lame excuse for a so called game....get the real nfl rules and options and i might give it another chance ...next year
