Re: Problems with my KotOR II on Xbox 360
I have had no problems playing KOTOR or sith lords on mine. the only problems i have had with my 360 is that my samsung disc drive gets stuck sometimes and wont eject..and when some discs try to slow down from 12x the spindal wont grip the disc, and the drive will make a horrible ratiling sound.if all else fails jut play it on the regular xbox......but it soooo... hard to stop playing in a machine that upconverts it to 720p-1080i  (sigh)

I just bought the game a day ago, but I can't even get it to play.  After doing the character creation, the whole system locks up on the load screen.  This is really annoying, and not what i would consider backwards compatible.

I've been getting these audio and framerate problems as well.  I hope someone can fix these problems or I will have to stick to playing this and Fable on my Xbox, instead of my 360. :[

When I go to my 360 dashbord (memory section), KOTOR 2 has no icon in my game list, but all my other BC games do.

Is that normal?

Yep, I just finished the game like 2 hours ago.  All through it, I had problems with the audio, but the framerate was awful.

All of you guys are ranting and raving over this thing not working on the 360 as BC. If you want to play it sooo bad then play it on the system it was MEANT to be played on! That would fix all your problems.

*bump*

Got the skipping audio bigtime on KOTOR I after reaching Taris.  Also started lagging a bit in the cantina... thought it was a problem with my console because I was also getting problems with a couple of my 360 games at the time, but it's the same on the replacement I got.

Thanks for atleast confirming I'm not the only one who's getting this, really hope they fix it soon... I already sold my original Xbox to a friend  :x

I just got off with tech support at 1-800-4my-xbox, dont waste your time.  (they were no help)  I am having a problem with KotOR II on my 360.

1. Last night the game played great on the new 360.  I saved and went to bed.
2. This morning I turned on the system and when the game loads (the press start screen) it has code instead of what is suppose to be there.  I should see "press start" instead it says "15-METER RA".  After I press start, the main screen shows up with the correct graphics, but all the words are scrambled. (examples below)

new game= N OPPONE
load game=TUNNING
movies=POTENT
sounds=E ARE
options=IALLY S

I selected the new game option and the class selection page is scrambled as well.

3. My KotOR II disk works perfect in my XBOX1. (so not a disk issue)
4. My Halo and Halo 2 work on my 360 no problem. (so not a backwards compatability issue)

Has anyone seen this?  I think there may be a problem with the emulator that I downloaded.  Is there a way to erase it and start from scratch and redownload the emulator?

thanks for any assistance.
So play it on your Xbox 1.

Problem solved.

But backwards compatability is a big selling point in a game console, and it appears that Microsoft isn't getting it right.  KOTOR2 is on the list of games that work on the 360, and I expect it to work as well as it did on the XBox.  In fact, the game could perhaps be better on the 360 since they have a chance to fix some glaring bugs with the compatability layer and the newer hardware has the potential of improving the games performance.

P.S.  I'm also having audio problems and very poor performance during the fights.  No crashes yet, but it is much worse than it was on the original XBox.

Well there is a problem here.  I dont own an Xbox, just a 360.  Sooooo playing it on the Xbox is not an option.  I was just under the impression that the 360 would play BC games.  KOTOR II is included in the official list of compatible games, so it should work.  That was my reason for buying the game.

Now I just get really annoying pop and screeching sounds while trying to play.

The sound and the framerates issues are my biggest problems. The sound is incredibly annoying, it's like my speakers are farting every 3 or 4 seconds. I can't even have a decent battle because it gets really slow. By the time the game goes back to normal, two of my party members are down...

I am having the same sound and frame rate problems that everyone else seems to have. I have given up playing Kotor (I & II) on my Xbox 360. It is probably better on my computer any way with all the mods and content you can download for them.

    Y dont they fix issues when they release the compat updates?!  I would rather wait and have fixed working games than a whole bunch of games that are screwy.

Do you have a Datel XSATA connected?  I had all sorts of problems with that thing.  Marketplace downloads failed constantly, KoTOR froze, and KoTOR II did as you described and then froze.  I removed the XSATA and things are back to normal.

Re: Problems with my KotOR II on Xbox 360

I, like everyone else it seems, am having a lot of problems playing this on my 360. The audio is bad, but the frame rate is unbelievable! And for all those fools who keep saying "well just play it on your xbox", we were promised by microsoft that this system would be backwards compatible. I sold my system so that I could afford the 360, under the impression that I would still be able to play the games I invested hundred of dollars into. But in reality, the game locks up and is completely unplayable. Someone needs to fix this or refund some money, because we've been lied to.

Re: Problems with my KotOR II on Xbox 360
Yeah, I just went out and bought KOTOR II today . . . and since my original Xbox got stolen just before I left the military, I only have my Xbox 360 to play it on. I knew KOTOR II was part of the compatible list of games for the Xbox 360, so I was really excited to play it -- the original KOTOR was awesome.

So I popped it in and let Xbox Live update my software for KOTOR II. I start playing, and the sound squawks up every five seconds, not to mention the framerate is choppy enough to be pretty darned annoying.

I thought maybe my disc was damaged (I bought it used), but I got suspicious and checked the Internet to see if anyone else was having similar problems . . . and sure enough, I found this thread (and others on several other Web sites).

Microsoft, you have an eleven-figure bank account. Hire a team to back up your claims of backwards compatibility. Nintendo managed to do it with all their Gameboys (seamlessly), PlayStation did it with the PS2 (seamlessly), and the Sega MasterSytem and Genesis were almost totally interchangeable. You have ten times the amount of resources these companies do, and yet you're the only ones to have royally screwed up backwards compatibility.

Seriously, the 360 is cool, but the bugs and compatibility issues are freaking annoying.

I was looking at kotor 1 on the BC game list and it said in 2004 that the pc version update was released to xbox live for an additional planet to play on etc.  I am trying now to find this update on my 360, but cannot find it anywhere so?

My 360 is set to 1080i and when I play this game it only displays in 4:3(blackbars all around)

Also I get audio glitches(screeching or battle music/music going out) and some serious framerate issues. I have a feeling this is never going to be fixed.
