I knew I was here the first time I laid my peepers on the first GRAW.  And after that, Oblivion pretty much sealed the deal.

My moment didn't involve the graphics at all. It was more playing Gears online for the first time. Talking with a person on my team while I got me *** handed to me by a bunch of English people. Ah.. remember your first indeed. The only reason this isn't a -real- next-gen experience is because this was able to be done on the older consoles.

My next gen moment happened recently. MW2. It really blurs the line between game and movie. But that doesn't really count either, because I haven't even played it. :(

So.. I'm going with the popular choice.. Oblivion. Going from Morrowind's world to Oblivion was a huge step-up. Getting out of the prison into that shining open world... ooo... drool drool.

Killing rats in a dungeon in Oblivion.

Not all next gen experiences are good...

I'd like to add to mine when the guy stands up in the guillie (how do you spell that word?) suit at the start of the sniper mission in COD4.  All the sudden the guy stands up and it's like "Where the pooh did that guy come from?  That was awesome!!"

You're crouched in the high grass. The mission text appears in the corner then disappears. All of a sudden the wind blows and moves the grass.. only you realize, it isn't the grass as it stands up and reveals the shape of a person. This is truly Next-Gen.

I know this is supposed to be "first" and I'm kinda turning into my "crap, that was cool" moments, but please don't judge me.  MW2....jumping the ravine when you're ice climbing.  I felt nervous as I climbed the first face and was getting close to the top (what if I don't hit the button right, like I did when I was closer to the ground  once, will I fall to my death?), I was feeling extremely nervous.  Then I have to run and jump this ravine, through the fog and hope that I hit the buttons at the right time?  Dude!

While it was not the first game I played on the 360 when I first played Mass Effect I was blown away by just how incredible the game was. 20 playthroughs later I am extremely excited about Mass Effect 2.

Call of Duty 2, man that D-Day mission was so intense! I remember being wowed at being able to spot people because I saw their breath in the cold winter air!
