Positive things about TjQa, vs other XBLA puzzle games
I figure that I might as well try to find some positive things about TiQal after having some disappointments.

The biggest positive thing that I find with it is that when you save a single player game, your score gets posted on XBLA right away if it's higher than your previous high score. I have had a luxor game going for a few months because it just takes an eternity to finish. Luxor and Zuma only post your high score after your game is completely finished.

I hope that future puzzers copy this feature, especially if they take a really long time to finish.

Re: Positive things about TjQa, vs other XBLA puzzle games

Good things:

  • Being able to start from a concrete level (7-8, for example) when most puzzle games doesn´t let you do it.
  • Many power ups, some really original
  • The game doesn´t get harder when you are playing well. It annoying in games like Zuma when you play good and then the game gets harder enough to get again into problems. Don´t penalize me if I´m playing well! It´s like if everytime you got a head shot in a shooter, 5 other guys respawn over there.
  • There´s many ways to fill the gaps, unlike many other games, where a gap is a huge problem over all the game.
  • It doesn´t have insane achievements that requires to play the game perfectly from beginning to the end.

Bad things:

  • Too many levels, it gets boring aroung levels 9-10.
  • Not enough modes to keep you entertained.
  • There is not a competitive multiplayer mode.
  • It´s not correctly balanced on last levels.
  • There are some powerups that aren´t good enough.

The game is good overall, but not around the best of the XBLA, and just gets old quickly. Anyway, I don´t regret purchasing it Smile [:)]

I kind of like it better with a mouse, but that's just me.
