I went calvary vs calvary on that one. The Prince of England and the King of France are very tough npcs. Even if you are several levels higher than them, they can still bring the pain.

What I ended up doing was bringing a large bowmen group and having them stay stationary at a single point by the enemies. After that, I summoned my own Lady Lancers and charged that guy. I think I got my ***-kicked before anything started to get any better. Oh, yeah. They aimed for those archers first.

I've always used Spears for any situation. To fight horses or halberds though, I use the Spearmen that have javelin throw; despite the weakness against horsemen they pack a punch. Plus they tend to be decent against any ordinary troops that may follow enemy commanders. At least, that's the only way I've been able to handle certain key characters in missions such as Joan of Arc and La Hire. Good luck.

I buy and keep handy some longpikes for those horse leaders - they drop some good stuff, so I want to be able to go in and clean out who is around them i'll call up the longpikes...   they are my first unit type to hit level 100 i've noticed and can kill those named leaders in one attack it seems

Indeed, I found spears good to use from the beginning. /they levelled up the most so get used for dire situations, especially when running out of time. The mastered Javalin helps to soften up shadowed targets, also.
