ok so the game sometimes shows a winner who is not actually a winner. also i think the game isnt giving the right chips for the odds. betting 5 chips on a 2:1 would give you ten right? i think sometimes it gives 15 but ill check again.

Another bug or just bad luck is that I get some questions that I just had like two games after! Out of 700 questions I shouldn't be getting the same questions too often but I seem to be getting alot of repeats even in a short gameplay session. Anyone else tend to notice this? Also, any other bugs or glitches post here so maybe the developers will fix them if they are confirmed.

I have noticed this as well. At first I was thinking they awarded the winner at first to the person with the most chips at the end, and then to the peron who actually played the best throughout the game, but I am pretty sure it is glitchy.

 

As far as the game awarding chips, 5 on a 2:1 would indeed be 10, but if your character selected the closest answer to the correct answer, you get bonus chips as well.

Actually 2:1 (2 to 1) on a bet of 5 is 15 (the original wager plus 2 times it added to it.)    8 bonus chips for the closest answer.

I've seen the same question come up two games in a row more than once.

Another potential bug, which I've mentioned in another topic:    The block party achievement refuses to unlock for me although I've had a full room 9 times.   There are 3 things I can think of that might be responsible.

1.  I had a lot of trouble staying connected to the host in which I should have earned the achievement at first.

2. I had a second account in the game on the same 360, and two guest accounts were still logged in from the house party achievement but not in the game.

3.  I did the 50 online games achievement before attempting block party.  I went through the leaderboards and didn't see anyone who got the achievement afterwards.

If you stake 5 chips on an answer at 2/1 and win you would receive 15 chips. 10 chips in winnings as well as your stake back.

As for the other issue I have no idea, we haven't got the game and I was just looking to see if it was worth a flutter.

I have seen both of these issues, but I guess winning 15 on 2:1 is correct from what other people have said. A couple of times I have seen the popup say: "$GTag1 has won $num1..." or something like that. It was displaying the variable names instead of their values.

I was playing online once and after the game started, I was the only player listed. I played out the whole game and won like 2800 chips. LOL

Twice I have had the game lockup my Xbox at the end of a game.

I've had it lockup in the lobby trying to host a game twice but was able to pull up the guide to exit to the desktop.

The obvious ones probably need to added here.  Wits Fan (Play fifty games) and Friendly (Play fifty games online) not unlocking at 50 games.

I also noticed that if you play offline, the leaderboard doesn't update (obviously).  Which leads me to believe the leaderboard is only for the Friendly achievement.  You should be able to get Wits Fan without XBL, right?   So, it also seems, you should be able to get the Super Wit achievement offline.  Wouldn't it then be possible to see someone have Super Wit with zero game played?  Maybe Zebrasqual and others played some games offline and not all the games registered.  Possible?

We at Hidden Path have both been excited to see so many people online playing and enjoying Wits & Wagers, and we've also been concerned ourselves that there appear to be a few behaviors in the game that are seen now, but were never seen in the hundreds of hours of testing that took place before the game was released.

 

Questions repeating, for example, happens somewhat frequently now, but it never once happened in testing, and the same goes for the wrong person being identified as the Winner at the end of some games.

 

Anyway, I wanted you to know that we're investigating how this could have possibly happened, working with our testing partners and Microsoft to understand what has happened, and are working towards eleminating those issues both for those who run into them casually and those who's achievements are impacted by this.

 

I'll report back when we know the cause and when I can tell you what is being done about it.  Thanks much for your patience.

Thank you. Its very nice to have a developer actually care and take a look at these forums - something that doesn't happen too often with some of these XBLA games. Anyway, I'm enjoying the game online but I agree that the questions are repeating very often and that makes the Super Wit achievement much harder than it should be. Hope you guys can patch it soon :)

I agree! I wish more of the developers would post in their game forums. It's nice to know they are paying attention to what we are talking about.

I wonder what the status is with this dilemma???

I hate to bring up old posts but was there ever an update to the game to help with the question repeats.  Coming up on 200 games to get Super Wit...but I'm wondering if I should even continue since the fun has dropped away.  But I've always got this feeling, what if I just need one more game....

Just leave your Xbox on when you are away or sleeping. Eventually you should have the achievement. This is what I, and many others did.
