No i'm not Portuguese, I'm Nicaraguan and Spanish...but I love the Portuguese team...Huge fan of Ronaldo and Deco...but I don't really think you read my post...Respect has nothing to do with what I am talking about...For I don't believe that we (U.S.) aren't really asking for respect, but the encouragement of the world...

I understand what you mean...and I believe what you say is true...the U.S. team does have to prove itself...don't think the world should talk bad about the U.S. when they are trying to make the sport bigger here...It's gotta start somewhere right?

I hear ya when it comes to the MLS. Some people talk like it's the worst soccer on the planet, but really, it's not even close. No one bashes the Irish league, A-league (Australia), League Championship, Austrian Bundesliga, etc., etc.. Maybe because it's a North American league, some people automatically hate it. Like it's fun to bash the MLS just because of it's geographic location.
I love watching European football (Bundesliga is my fav over there, followed by the Prem, Serie-A, and La Liga), but the MLS is what we have over here, so I acutally try to enjoy. And guess what...I ended-up ACTUALLY enjoying it! ***, I even love watching USL-1 on FSC, just because it's North American!
Anyway, if you ever want to play some MLS games in FIFA online, give me a shout. HUGE Toronto FC fan over here!

Yea, I really wish we could get some more encouragement for our league to grow than constant negativity...I actually love the MLS now...I have season tickets to the San Jose Earthquakes cause they're finally back home, and I love every game I go to...I go decked out in my jersey, scarf, beanie, flag....An the games are always packed...I wish other leagues would just gives encouragement than ***...but I would definately be down for some MLS games Ill send a friend request...
I agree about the whole Salary Cap thing...I think it should substantaly be raised...I don't like the whole buying players but because then it just becomes a league where whoever has the money controls the league and that's what happens in Europe...You'll have like 3 or 4 teams that you know every year will win the Cup...that's retarded in my opinion...but they should have some system that will allow them to acquire foreign players for whatever the price...I dunno...we just need to make our league grow and support it as much as we can...
I'm going to the San Jose Earthquakes game where they will take on the former Quakes the Houston Dynamo...I'm way excited to support my home team! I hope our league continues to grow...

As well, we might to to hit the CONCACAF Champs League qualifier against Montreal a few days before. If we could do both matches, awesome, but I'll be happy if I can see at least one.I haven't seen any Quakes games on tv, but I heard they filled-up the Oakland Collesium pretty much. That's awesome.
Awesome I actually hear Toronto FC's following is huge!!! I can't wait till they come down it'll be a great atmosphere...2 new teams going at it...(Well SJ isn't really new they just came back...) Yea the Chicago Fire game was pretty packed it was nice...Over 23,000 People attended I believe which is more than a San Jose Sharks game...but then again the SharkTank only holds about 20,000...but cool nonetheless...I'm trying to get tickets to the Cup Final in L.A...I also can't wait till Seattle breaks into the league next year!

I guess being 2nd in the current CONCACAF standings doesn't mean anything?...We are still World Cup Qualifying team...we may have not won a World Cup but im sure most would agree that in 2002 World Cup the world definately saw the U.S. as what you call a "decent" team as we did beat Portugal 3-2 who skeptics believe would take the cup and beat Mexico 2-0(Who had beat Croatia and tied Italy)....And in the end we gave Germany a run for its money...Entering the tournament we were ranked 12th in the world...(A Rank which currently England is at)...So don't come here with your "You gotta prove it to the world" argument cause we already have...Oh and not to mention...We held 4th place in the FIFA World Rankings just prior to the World Cup in 2006...Just a tidbit for you...4th place on the FIFA World Rankings is the highest England has ever been...how bout that eh? Don't believe me, check FIFA.com....Oh and we just beat Poland 2-1... Take your frail argument elsewhere...

The U.S. was owned Italy. The refs stole a win from us there. But we were definetly overrated at #4. I'm still pissed we lost to Ghana.

FIFA rankings are misleading, USA were up there because they earned points by playing very poor teams in their region.
Most Americans degrade the MLS and don't take it seriously. You have to get the country to take the MLS seriously before the rest of the world will.

People think the MLS is the 4th best league in the americas when its not, and u try to tell them hey this league is 10 years old these other leagues are 100+ and there like na we have adidas uniforms they are betterpeople then talk about big name signings like Henry, BEcks, w/e aging euro start is here to gain this league exposure...I say with the 5-6 million they are paying becham a year... u could get 20-30 african, south american B list players that would make the league fun to watch and alot more competitve than having 1 team with dave beckham and that is the only team that plays to sell out crowdsand before u say I dont know about the MLS ... I live Ct but go to school in NY and go to every NY RB game I can and if a team is playing the Revolution I like then I sometimes take the drive there too
