A few people, including myself have done the requirements for the Eagle achievement yet we did not unlock the achievement. When you get to level 9-3 or 9-4 you unlock the final powerup. So from then on, you can keep trying to get all 14 powerups in one game (the how to play section in the help menu lists all 14 powerups). I have made a checklist and gotten each one at least once in the game and did not get the achievement. If the developers are reading this, please fix this soon. Inform us if there will be a patch / update to resolve this issue and if so, when can we expect it. Thanks in advance.

According to MyGamerCard.net, as of this posting there is currently nobody with 200 in this game, so that's not a good sign...

I know it hasn't been out for all that long, but someone usually hammers out 200 fairly quickly.

Also, if any devs are reading this, here a couple other glitches in the game (non-achievement related).

 

- If you are on the world map, and then press start, then select "how to play" , the game will be locked up whenever you exit the "how to play" section. The screen will tell you to press "A" to start the level, but the button will be unresponsive. The only way to continue is to press Start, and then go to "save and quit" and then you will be able to load your game at the start of the next stage.

 

-  This has happened to me on more than one occassion. If someone signs in at the exact moment the stage ends, the game will pause for a few moments before it finally starts tallying up your end of stage bonus.

Yeah I had this as well, its pressing start on the world map which does it.

We have verified that the achievement bug does occur, have fixed the bug, and will be patching the game very soon. This fix will cause the achievement to unlock if all requirements are met (i.e. all powerups have been caught in a single player game at least once) and you catch ANY powerup. Note: the life fragment is not considered a powerup for this achievement.

We will also be addressing the pause menu on the world map during game play. There is a work-around for this last bug in that you can just back out of the game to the main menu and then continue the game without losing progress.

Well, I think there "extensive certification process" actually has nothing to do with the game itself. Its probably just a bunch of lawyers sitting around drinking Latte's and shuffling paperwork.

Oooooooooh! Fast answer!! Good to see developers caring about their game, it´s annoying when there is a bug on a game and the developers don´t look at forums...

I think certification process is just looking if it crashes during a normal play, see if it works with all the things you can do in the dashboard, and things like that. It´s pretty obvious they don´t actually test the entire game, too many glitched achievements, at least three games that didn´t work properly at launch and were removed some hours (Eets Chowdown didn´t work, Catan let you unlock achievements without having the game and Sensible Soccer couldn´t be played online)... Or maybe are just mistakes or the testers of Microsoft aren´t too expert.

I wish the update comes soon I know it can take a while (happened before with Alien Hominid or Small Arms, for example, and waiting for Commanders one).

if microsoft gave one of us a budget for about 5 or so of us to actually test these games, then we would catch this ish before it happens.......just imagine a conference room somewhere in seattle where me, you, karnage, jhonny sisister, zerium and maybe a few others sat around and just tried to do what we normally do.....complete the game. on top of that we could actually get paid to do that, so we could be literal when we say that some of these games seem more like a job. within 1 week i am confident we could come up with a more complex list of glitches then whoever is testing these things now.  just imagine.....in a perfect world.

I would love that to be my job.  I'm not the best arcade players, but I'm pretty skilled.  I'm friends with some of top XBLA players Zeriam, Lucas, Shadow, Taco Bob, and some others.

I think it was glitched at a last change after certification. Maybe they had to change a thing, and they did it wrong. Not being able to be online at all is a major bug, so it was made at the very last moment. Or at least I think so.

Just getting the download for free would be worth it these days. I remember when there would be a 400 point game pretty frequently. Now almost everything on the arcade marketplace is 800. I was hoping Mr. Driller was going to be 400 since most Namco games are. Now there is even talks that the new Penny Arcade XBLA title will be a groundbreaking 1600 points.

They should try to keep as many games at or below 10 dollars as possible.  And as always, classics should be 5 dollars.  That means you mr. driller ONLINE.  I most certainly will not buy a game for 1600 points (20 dollars) from arcade.  They might as well make it a full retail game so we can get a 1000 gamerscore.

Ps. if they added achievements to some of the xbox original games, i would be more than happy to pay 15 dollars a game, but you can get most of those games for dirt cheap either online or at a local gameshop.

Some of these companies are getting too greedy.  I mean, every big company these days are greedy, but some companies just blatantly overcharge for mediocre crap. 

Unfortunately the pause menu work-around doesn't work for two player mode because there is no save in two player mode. I discovered that last night after my wife and I took a break before trying to tackle level 10. We got to save our score, but the game ended right there.

As to the comment about some of us on the XBLA leaderboards testing the games, I would totally be down for that.  I believe that this thought came about during a game of Lost Cities between Printmatic, K4rn4ge, lucas1987, and myself.

yeah i think we talked about this that day........another great thing that came from that game was the idea of achievements being accessable as gamer pictures once you unlock them for a little more incentive to try to get them.  then there was my "give a penny, take a penny" feature that i dont think any of you were feeling, but i liked it! 

bottom line is that i can name about 10 or so gamers that could run circles around whoever is testing these things now.  and maybe somebody somewhere should realize that improvements need to be made. 

i can tell you there has been several times where i have not downloaded a full game because of severe glitches that people on my friends list told me about, or i read them on these forums on release day.  if you patch them, i may buy them(switchball), but if you release crap (commanders attack) and before i even get to work on release day there is already a forum dedicated to glitches......that is lost sales from me at the least.  and i am sure there is more people out there like me that check out what johnny, snap, karnage, zerium and lucas have to say before they make a purchase.

so microsoft arcade testers......get your damn act together.  if i performed like you when i went to work, i wouldn't be working there much longer.

The Eagle achievement has actually just been fixed today! Even though I did the requirements for it last time, it didn't unlock right away but I just got all powerups again in one level (excluding the heart) and the achievement popped right after the final powerup. Just giving everyone a heads up. Also, I am surprised. Microsoft is on a roll... so far they patched 3 arcade games glitched achievements in one month (Commanders, EXIT, and TiQal). Now all they need to fix is Smash TV.
