Its a huge black eye on XBLA.

You cant play online.

People cheat.

Constantly. They pick white and dont move.

Its very sad.

Even if you want to play chess against the computer, buy something for the PC or play online for free.

This is a joke M$ should be ashamed they publish garbage like this.

And th AI is terrible. I almost always win on time unless I pick one of the few "fast" AI opponents.

Overall, just terrible, not even worth 100ms points let alone 800.

Actually, if you host a game instead, you don't have to worry about that. The chessmaster community is still very active, so if you host between morning and early evening, you should have people joining your game on a fairly regular basis.

I bought it. I like it just fine as a single-player game. It provides plenty of good game opponents, puzzles and challenges.  On-line cheating when playing random strangers is an unfortunate sign of the times. Try playing people you actually know, or playing single-player against the AI.  It seems like a pretty good game that way!    
If we knew what we were doing, it wouldn't be called research.

Yeah, I would just find friends to play with... or just find a few people on a message board that obviously want to play for reals.

It's not a bad single player game. Something to relax to for a few minutes or so.

Being a chess player for several years and a XBOX player for only a few, I really like the game.

Anyway, this is a personality issue, it is about choices.

Just bought the game and am looking for casual Chess players. I am usually on in the evenings after 10pm (Eastern Time)

a patch came out awhile back, and people can't cheat anymore. The main fix is when people are white and refuse to move, so you'll quit and lose points has been fixed.
