GRID Achievement Guide (Revised)

The GRID Achievement Guide!

~Saiprashant LR~

Formerly – CarLover123

This guide is to help you know how to get the achievements in this game with some easy of understanding. Most of the achievements are really easy and you know what to do, but do you know where to do it? Like the 200 MPH in a car, easy right? Where do you do it…this is what I’m here for. Good Luck and remember having fun is the point of this game…also to be good…if you are a CB, learn not to be, don’t make it un – enjoyful for everyone else. CB = Car Basher – Yes, I made it up.

Key: Online – You can do it online only!

Offline – You can do it offline only!

Both – You can do it offline or online!

Note: Offline doesn’t mean you have to disconnect from LIVE, it just means that you can’t do it in a multiplayer race. Online means you have to be connected to LIVE and therefore do it in an online race. Both means both, nothing really else to say. What I say in this guide is not in bold, and in italics if you haven’t notice already. ENJOY!

Airborne – Get the car airborne for 1 second. On the San Francisco track there is a part where you go up and down the hills. You get a little air on the way up but try to get this achievement on the way down. On the way down just floor it and you will get it no doubt. Try to do this in the Career mode because at the end if you crash because you are going to fast you can use your Flashback and get out it.

Another thing you can do is pick the Mustang Boss, the first car you start out with and test drive it. Then pick the Le Mans track. What you do is start off and as soon as you get to the turn make a sharp right and then immediatley left and the car will roll about 6-12 times. Do this 2 to 3 times and then you will get the achievement.

Both – You can do it offline or online!

Stick Shift – Win a race using manual transmission. Pretty self explanatory if you ask me. Try to do this online and on the Jarma Circuit because it’s an easy track, smooth curves and online, you can race with two people. You can win this fair and square or you can let each other take a stab at this. If you don’t want to do it legit, just ask your friend to lose a race.

Both – You can do it offline or online!

You Again? – Lap an opponent in a 12 car GRID World race. Also very self explanatory. Just put it on the easiest difficulty pick a fast car, you don’t necessarily need one but just race and follow the racing line. The racing line is defined by the blackest part on the track, like a line, very easy to recognize. Lap a car and win, could be the person in last or in first. Another thing you could do is go to Demo Derby, doesn’t matter what track. Just try to get in the lead and go off the first jump, then turn left and just wait for the other cars to come off the second jump. Try and total their cars. If you hit them head on you can do a lot of damage but before you do that you should try and let them hit you sideway…get some other cars stuck with you and then you can start hitting them and totaling them. Once you total at least one opponent complete a lap and lap them.

Offline – You can do it offline only!

Sunday Drivers – Finish a race at least one lap ahead of the rest of the field in GRID World. Pretty much the same as above. Just lap the whole field including the person in first. Yes, everyone! To do this go to Raceday and pick a track that you are good at but long. Put the difficulty on basic, 5 laps and pick a fast car. Then drive away. Put on atleast 15 laps to be safe and then total every opponent. Then just lap them all. One thing that helps is that once the AI is totaled you can use their car to total other cars by putting them right where the jump ends.

Offline – You can do it offline only!

Hard Charger – Win a 12 car race starting from the back of the GRID. Pretty self explanatory. Just be in a race where you are in the last place of a 12 car race and finish the race in first. Go to Raceday…pick a track you like or are good at or some circular shaped one and put the Grid Position to Back or Last. Pick the Audi and the AI!

Both – You can do it offline or online!

City Slicker – Race in every city. I don’t think that it can get any easier to understand what to do for an achievement. Just race in every city, you don’t have to win…just race.

Both – You can do it offline or online!

Car Wreck – You have caused insane damage to your car. On any track anywhere with damage on, just total your car.

Both – You can do it offline or online!

Back to Front – You crossed the finish line in reverse. You can do this offline, where it is the easiest because you can put the difficulty on Basic and just do a 180 and finish in reverse.

Both – You can do it offline or online!

New Kid on the Block – You’ve completed your first race. Just complete your first race when you first start career.

Both – You can do it offline or online!

First Win! – You have won a race! Just win any race.

Both – You can do it offline or online!

Re: GRID Achievement Guide (Revised)

Hot Lap – You broke the original lap record! Just put the difficulty on normal or lower and floor it in Career. Don’t be foolish and try to take tight turns, one thing I learned is as long as you’re a little aggressive but not cocky you will win.

Both – You can do it offline or online!

Driver for Hire – You have raced for a team from every region! In the driver offers, select a race in the USA, Japan, and Europe…you don’t have to win but it would be good if you did.

Offline – You can do it offline only!

Road Block – You were in a pile-up with over 3 cars! On any race, just go to the first corner and smash all the cars into the wall…one you get the achievement, quit so your rep doesn’t get damages.

Both – You can do it offline or online!

Beat Codies – You beat the developer or someone who has beaten the developer online. You can get this from a friend if you want or just race and get it fair and square. No other way to get it, don’t race dirty. Ask who has it and race against them…how you get it after that is your choice.

Both – You can do it offline or online!

Speed Demon – You topped 200mph! Do the Le Mans 24 hour race online and pick the Audi, you will get 200MPH in no time. You will also get the Le Mans achievement done also, below. Easy.

Both – You can do it offline or online!

Le Mans Rookie – You have completed you first Le Mans 24 hour race. Create a session online and make the session “short”, it’s only 24 minutes. From there just stay in the race for 24 minutes, you can’t really complete the race, it just takes whoever is in first for the 24 minutes. Another easy way to do this online is to get another person, start it, and get another activity to do for about 25 minutes. Very Easy.

Both – You can do it offline or online!

Spin & Win – Complete a 360 spin and still win the race. Put the difficulty on Basic, complete a 360 using B and still win the race. Easiest when you have a lot of speed. You can do this while doing a drift battle where it’s an actual track. Just tap B and spin out and then win the race.

Both – You can do it offline or online!

Combo King – Get a 50x Multiplier. PRACTICE, PRACTICE, PRACTICE to get the 50x while drifting. The easiest one is probably the one where you’re on the docks like in the demo, once you get 50x don’t continue, just straighten out and get the achievement to make sure you don’t mess up, but if you’re on a roll then go ahead and keep drifting! Go to Raceday and put it on HKS Freestyle Drift, the D Type and then put the clock on 10 minutes. Near the right corner of the map is where you just want to keep drifting. I will make a video if anyone requests it…but be warned it probably won’t be good quality at all, the race will but the not the video.

Both – You can do it offline or online!

Gotta Drive ‘Em All – Drive every car. How simple can it get? Just drive every car, I think it can be done online. The car list is listed below so print it out and mark it off once you have driven it. If not online then just keep racing career.

You cannot get this achievement as of right now but you can once the Codies put in the 2 extra cars needed for this achievement.

Both – You can do it offline or online!

First Wheels – Buy you first car. Just race some events, get enough money and fix your first car. Then race some more, go to the Europe section and buy the open wheels car. It’s a really nice car and it is worth it.

Offline – You can do it offline only!

Team Win – Your team has won it’s first event! Race for your own team in an event and win. I found this easiest on Touge, Viper SRT-10, All assists on and Normal difficulty. It’s gonna be hard to put some time on the other AI car so what I did when on the way down, I started, blocked of the AI car and then rammed my back end into it’s front end. Don’t think of this sexually. This puts time on them and gives them a penalty…I did it for a while and gave them about 1 min worth of it but if you can be calm and take it easy around the corners you only need about 10 seconds.

Offline – You can do it offline only!

Flashback and Win – You have used the flashback feature and won the race. First you need to total your car, use a flashback and then win the race. No, you cannot do this on pro mode because pro mode takes this feature away. If you want just start the race, pause, go to Instant Replay and use a flashback.

Offline – You can do it offline only!

Keep Rolling – Roll your car 20 times. On the San Francisco track where there are bumps that go up and down…go downhill and then turn and hit the wall, sometimes you flip crazily and sometimes you flip once. This achievement takes luck. In the patch coming up the Codies will make it so that even if your car flips upside down, you will still get the achievement.

Both – You can do it offline or online!

Gentleman Driver – Win an entire GRID World Event without making contact with other cars. This will take time, practice and smart moves. Win an event under this category without making ANY contact with other cars. If another car hits you, like a light tap then you are fine.

Do this on the European track where you race the Skylines. It is only 1 race and is really easy on Basic. It will give you the achievement once you have gone back to the loading screen where you first chose your track and such.

---- Thanks to penny84 for saying where to do this.

Offline – You can do it offline only!

Re: GRID Achievement Guide (Revised)

Corporate Power – Fill all your sponsor spots. Just keep racing in Career and get sponsors and then fill up all your spots. This is pretty easy if you are winning races.

Offline – You can do it offline only!

Winning Streak – Win every race in an event. An event in the career might consist of 2 separate stages; you have to win, as in come in first.

Offline – You can do it offline only!

Seasoned Pro – Win all event trophies. This achievement is achieved over progression in the career. You have to come in first in all the events to get the trophies, or at least follow the objectives.

Offline – You can do it offline only!

Globe Hopper – Race at every Location. This again is achieved over progression in the career. You don’t have to win at every location, just complete a race.

The locations are:

San Francisco –ARL League
Washington –ARL League
Detroit –ARL League
Long Beach –ARL League
Milan – Euro League
Jarama - Euro League
Istanbul Park - Euro League
Spa Francorchamps - Euro League
Donington Park - Euro League
Nürburgring - Euro League
Le Mans - Euro League
Yokohama – J-Speed League
Shibuya – J-Speed League
Mount Haruna - J-Speed League
Okutama - J-Speed League

Le Mans and Shibuya are not in the career section so you can race those in Raceday or Online. All other locations can be raced at in the first tier of races.

Offline – You can do it offline only!

Le Mans Legend – Win a Le Mans 24 hours race on Pro Mode. Win the Le Mans 24 hours race on pro mode. You need practice on this track because pro mode makes it so that you have no flashbacks and no restarts, just retires. If you get the Audi LMP1 this is very easy because you start out in the front. The difficulty can be on basic.

Offline – You can do it offline only!

Hire and Fire – Hire a new teammate with a higher rank than your current one. Once you reach a certain stage in your career you can high a driver. Hire a low ranking one at first and then fire him. Then hire someone else who has a higher rank.

Offline – You can do it offline only!

When will I be famous? – Get onto the Hall of Fame Leader boards. For every event there is a hall of fame leader board, they have like at least 5 – 6 wins in the event. Just win that event a number of times to beat the times that other are on the leader boards for. I got this achievement at Classic Muscle Bilstein Festival Milano in the Euro League, you have to win both races. It didn’t give it to me when I did that so I had to race the event itself two times. It should work like this.

Offline – You can do it offline only!

First Xbox Live Win – Win your first Xbox Live Ranked Race. This might take skill depending on who you are playing against. Just win a ranked race on Xbox Live.

Online – You can do it online only!

Five Xbox Live Wins – Win 5 ranked Xbox Live races. Same as above but 5 times.

Online – You can do it online only!

Short Haul – Drive a total of 500 Miles. Drive a total of 500 miles in any car. Doesn’t have to be in one car. Just keep racing!

Both – You can do it offline or online!

Long Haul – Drive a total of 1000 Miles. Drive a total of 1000 miles in any car. Doesn’t have to be in one car. Just keep racing!

Both – You can do it offline or online!

High Mileage – Drive a total of 750 Miles in a single car. Drive a total of 750 miles in only car. Go to Raceday and put the track on Le Mans ’68, and pick the Audi in the LMP1 section. Then listen to music, watch tv or a movie, put the laps to the maximum amount. This will take a while. You can do it this way, the “work” way or you can have fun doing it and do it online.

Both – You can do it offline or online!

Top of the Tree – Top the Driver Leader board. Reach the top of the Driver Leader board. I think it goes upon how much reputation points someone has.

Offline – You can do it offline only!

Top of the Team Leader board – Top the Team Leader board.  I think you reach the top depending on how much money you have.

Offline – You can do it offline only!

Power Seller – Sell a car for more than you paid for it.

 -The car should have as many wins as possible;
-As little wrecks as possible;
-Would ideally be cleaned beforehand;
-Have a reasonable starting price;
-A buy it now price more than the original price (by 500) and;
-Set the time for 4 events.

----Thanks to ApexRacer GT for this tip.

Offline – You can do it offline only!

Head 2 Head – Win your first head to head race. Win your first head to head race, pretty simply. Keep focused, calm and don’t be too aggressive on the turns. This will pop up on it’s own.

Offline – You can do it offline only!

Last Man Standing – Be the last survivor of a single player Destruction Derby. Wreck all the other cars in the event and just be the last one to still move. Do what I said to do in the other achievement, “Sunday Drivers,” or “You Again?”

Offline – You can do it offline only!

Touge King – Win a Touge Event on a 5 star difficulty level. To do this achievement put the difficulty on EXTREME and win!

----Thanks to TopTenDog reporting how to do this.

Offline – You can do it offline only!

Full Rep – Earn the full Reputation available in a race. Turn all the assists off, put the gears in manual and lock the camera to head mode…make it locked.

----Thanks to penny84 for clarification.

Offline – You can do it offline only!

Online Legend – Reach the Rank of Legend in Xbox Live races. Just keep racing and winning ranked races online.

Online – You can do it online only!

Global License – Unlock Global License. Keep racing and winning and earn a lot of rep. No way to get past this. You need 1 Million rep points.

Offline – You can do it offline only!

Online ELITE - Reach Elite Ranking in Xbox Live race. Just race and win on a lot Xbox Live Ranked Matches.

Online – You can do it online only!

Record Breaker - Complete a lap of Okatama Grand Circuit in under 90 seconds. This Achievement is not very hard but it does take practice. All I can say is PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE. The easiest way to do this is to attempt this on a test drive, pick the best car you have and unlimited laps. I got this using the Audi. A couple tips is once you get on the wavy road don’t  turn too much, just keep the wheel straight and turn the wheel a little as it saves time. Don’t floor it, brake. If you can reach the trees after the second bridge by 55 seconds and don’t mess up from there, you are home free.

Both – You can do it offline or online!

Filthy Rich - Earn enough to buy a brand new Lamborgini Murcielago GTR. All you need is about 2.8 Million US Dollars or 1.4Million Pounds, or 2.1 Million Euros , you can get this by racing a lot and racing for your team in the Le Mans 24 hour race.

----Thanks to I SpeedBlade I.

Offline – You can do it offline only!

1st and 2nd at Global - Get a 2-1 at International Level.  Basically what this means is at the Global tier way later on in the game, in any Global event your teammate takes 1st and you take 2nd. Sounds easy but then again it’s at International level.

----Thanks to Fyrbreak and Turbocharg3d.

Offline – You can do it offline only!

If you want to get Elite and Legend faster I've noticed some strategies people use. Alot of people just play Demo Derby or Nissan Cup all day on Short race length because the tracks are very short and it's over pretty quick so the experience points accumulate fast. Usually everyone will keep voting for Demo Derby and Nissan Cup when you're in a room where they're doing those events so you can stay there all day if you want. It can get pretty boring though lol. Fastest I've seen Legend done is 24 hours of online time. I'm only halfway to Legend with 20 hours but that's because I like to play alot of different events and only occasionally have long sessions of Demo Derby and Nissa Cup.

And how come under the Elite and Legend achievements you put offline only? I thought they were online only lol.

Oh, oh, another tip for playing online. When your car flips or you fly off the track quickly hit Start then X to put your car back on the track faster. It's alot faster than reversing out of that tire barrier. =D

Anyone struggling with touge racing can try this. At the start of stage one (where you start in front) you can force your AI opponent to crash into you as many times as you see fit, causing it to be penalised 2 seconds for each collision.

You should mention that this doesn't work in any car, I tried at least 10, eventually got it with the first car you get, the Ford Mustang.

Re: GRID Achievement Guide (Revised)

I think it's funny when somebody makes an achievement guide when they don't have them themselves or don't know how to get them/the best method.

Everybody corrects them and in the end the OP gets the credit even though his original post was waaaaay wrong...

Nothing personal I just see it a lot.

Here's my input.

Take it how you will.

Stick Shift:- Just do it on the first race in EU or USA...Simple

Roadblock - 10 car pile-up:- Where is this achievement, I think you have a different copy of the game to me.

Back to Front :- You have to win aswell.

Beat Codies :- Just race online anybody who has come above last in an online race will have this. Easy.

Top the Team Board :- You have to earn the most $ in one season., compared to the other teams. Basically you have to earn  more than ravenwest in a season. Easiest way to get it is doing four global events and a Le Mans at LMP1 level or whatever it's called, and win them all. Harder difficulty/Good sponsors and a good teammate will help you to this...

Touge King :- If you are struggling, hit the opponent when you are ahead of them on the track. i.e. reverse into them, cut down the inside and hit your tail against their front wing. This gives your opponent penalty time.

Full Rep :- Do it on Downhill Drift in Jap Tier 1, Freestyle does NOT work.

Record Breaker:- You're easy way of doing it is probably the most long winded. Just go to Grid World to Jap Tier 3 and one of the events has this track as the first track. Just start the race, get ahead on lap 1 and go for the record on lap 2, if you come off the track, just Flashback, it still counts. Note: CAN'T be done in Race Day.

1-2 @ Global :- You can come first and teamate second aswell.

:)

If anyone wants help with the Keep Rolling achievement, contact me and add me as a friend. I will not check this everyday and add you as a friend. I figured out a track to do this on and the reason I'm saying contact me is because it's much easier you see how to do it then have it explained to you.

1-2 @ Global :- You can come first and teamate second aswell.

For full rep, any ideas of the drift points you need to win? And do you have to win the whole event?

2-1 at global, didn't know that worked, I sat and came second every race, letting my team mate win Tongue Tied [:S].

Quick question about the "Globe Hopper – Race at every Location." achievement ...

You say they can all be raced at by doing the first tier of the races, however i have done the first 2 tiers and it still says 14/15 locations... is this a glitch? or will there actually be somewhere i havent raced? ive been through them all on Raceday and am 99% sure that ive been everwhere now, yet still havent gotten the achievement???

Confused [8-)]

"Le Mans and Shibuya are not in the career section so you can race those in Raceday or Online. All other locations can be raced at in the first tier of races." This was under the list of locations. I don't think you read the whole description.

Obviously if you just keep playing you will sooner or later get it. You don't need to finish a race for the location to count. So you could quickly go though every location starting and retiring.

Oh, lol. Sorry. Have a list of the locations and then go to raceday, race and mark the location down. You don't have to finish the race, just let it start. This way you will know you have raced at every location.

As of right now there are only 43 cars in the game. Codemasters will be adding the other 2 cars when they finish the patch for the game.

As I understand it, two ferraris had license issues and were left out at the last minute.
