Okay, obviously easy isn't a problem. I'm playing Formidable though... How do you beat this?

I'm getting hit by rockets fired from objects not even rendered, they're so far out, and it seems like it only takes one to drop me (except in the Hulkbuster armor, usually only takes two), even with power in Life Support, and with the Hulkbuster's shield on

watch your radar. red dots moving at you are very bad.

 

other then that, stay low. when entering a combat area, take out targets with missle attacks first. start with turrets, SAM's (grab them and give them some of their own medicene) then gunships (hellicopters and VTOL aircraft) then smack down the fighters.

missles are your biggest threat in the game, it's serves well to target them first. also, enemy's who have missle attacks cannot launch missles at you if you are within 80 yards of them. (check your hud when locked on for distance read out)

other then that, chaff and sheilds are extreamly usefull. and when your radar is full of dots, grab an enemy and you should be safe from the barrage.

I'm doing it on hard as well. It is crazy man. Even harder than Mile High Club on veteran. Rockets come at you 4 times the amount and the strength.

same here, formidable is crazy hard.. im stuck on mission 5 as of right now

I'm stuck on formidable in the flying fortress mission. It seems utterly IMPOSSIBLE.

Tell me about it man..  They must not have heard of checkpoints!  lol  I love Iron Man (diehard fan), but the difficulty of the game makes it extremely unenjoyable :(

i was looking forward to getting this game this week but after reading how hard formidable is now i dont think ill be looking forward to hard , i get annoyed easy as well most of the time.

UFC is the best

If you get the game, I just recommend playing on easy for the achievements, and then play on normal and keep it at that. Formidable drove me nuts. I didn't play the game for about seven months. I tried it again tonight and realized why I put the controller down in the first place long ago. Lol.

I can't recommend chaff enough. The shields seem like they'd be more helpful by definition, but they drain too much energy. Chaff will knock missiles off your tail from a reasonable distance without draining you too much.

Also, keeping your energy routed to life support until you're relatively clear of bombardment helps. Other than that, keeping close to the ground keeps some enemies off of you as much, and take out jets with Vespid missiles and the gatling repulsor. Time it right and a few gatling blasts will get a jet on its first pass.

I did exactly the opposite on the formidable playthrough, but prefer maneuverability.  I just couldn't deal with the limited weapons range of the hulkbuster armor.
