2. Game Modes and Matchmaking
In Battlefield: Bad Company Multiplayer, there are 2 game modes: Conquest and Gold Rush.
Gold Rush:
It's a 'Push' type of game mode. It starts with the Attacking and Defending team each with a base.
The Defending team has two Gold Crates very close to their spawn point, they must defend the Attacking team from planting a charge on each crate (which the Defending team can defuse once planted), or destroy each crate with a lot of bullets and/or explosives. This game mode has unlimited respawns.
Conquest:
Included as DLC (Downloadable content) due to VERY high demand to be included in the game as a free download for both PS3 and Xbox 360, post-release.
In Conquest, the aim is to reduce the opposing team's tickets to zero. Killing an enemy soldier depletes one ticket per kill against the opposing team, as does capturing control points (flags) located on the map, depending on how many flags you have captured.
To get into a game, you can go to the Multiplayer menu and it will give you a few options to get into a game.
- From Quick Match, you can get in a match by yourself quickly, ranked or unranked as choices.
- From Custom Match, you can get in a match by choosing a preferred map, ranked or unranked, or best of all, create a squad with your friends.
Leaderboards:
From the Leaderboards menu, you can see the global leaderboards up to the top 10,000 ranked players, your friends leaderboards, and everybody's XP earned, kills and deaths.
3. Maps
Battlefield: Bad Company features 8 maps:
Valley Run
At the head of a long valley, Russians are expanding and fortifying a dam facility when the US gets wind of the large amounts of gold hidden in the area.
Deconstruction
With the water facility captured, the US has a foothold for assaulting the construction area. Girders, pipes, and scaffolding make this a tight, labyrinthine scramble and the fight to take the bridge will grueling.
Harvest Day
Farms are torn apart by heavy caliber gunfire, as the Americans are forced to retreat to the local town with their hard-won gold – will they be able to halt the rampaging Russian bear?
Over and Out
Having been pushed out of the plains, the Americans have made off with large amounts of bullion, and holed up in a captured Russian communication centre.
Oasis
A normally arid gully has been flooded after a local dam burst, threatening to overflow a local MEC industrial gas facility.
Final Ignition
The grimy gas facility is in start contract to the irrigated town and plantation surrounding it, and the US will have a hard time dislodging the defenders from the fortress like facility.
End of the Line
US forces have landed on the windswept plain below the imposing, secluded hilltop monastery, which houses a secret listening station. Before they make their way to the top, they have to rid of Russians’ vehicle defense.
Ascension
The monastery’s location means the area is, geographically speaking, easily defensible. The attackers are well armed, but taking the defender’s gold will be no easy task, as every window may contain an enemy sniper.
