Hi! to all,

How would you all rate this game?

Personally I like the game and think it's far better than most reviews suggest, but I will admit that a few things/problems do hold the game back a bit.

I'd give it a solid 7 out of 10

But I think if 2K got up off their ars* and released a patch/update to fix/improve a few things then the game could in my eyes be worthy of an 8 out of 10

So what do the rest of you think?

Yeah fun game but hit detection is horrible.  They get a patch would be alot better.

Some solid rating's so far.... good to see that there are a few people like myself that are quite pleased with Prizefighter overall.

Now if only 2K would hurry up and release that patch, then the game could be really good, IMO if 2K make a little effort and fix/improve a few things here & there then they could greatly improve Prizefighter.

I'm a huge boxing fan and was excited when i heard 2k was working on a boxing title. The preview vids were great and then when the game was released it got trashed by the game review community. I was devastated but, after playing demo I decided to buy and i must say i'm pleasantly surprised. we all know about the minor flaws here and there that can be easily addressed via patch/update but this game is nowhere near as bad as everyone is making it out to be I would easily give this game a 7.5 or a 8 and the career mode is by far the best of any boxing game I've played and I've played a fair share. I havent played it live yet but I'm looking forward to playing some sim matches so if anyone would like to play me send me a invite or msg and we can set up a time to play. I strongly suggest everyone interested in boxing atleast rent the game first and then draw your own conclusions because I believe the review community dropped the ball on this one.

Without the patch 6 if it gets patched and the only thing corrected is the scoring 8.5 if patch also fixes the inconsistant damage done online a very solid 9 or 9.5 only reason not a 10 is once you play the carrer that is about it but it is way better then what FN3 gave us

That is the link to the proposed patch documnet that list some of the problems with the game. IMO the biggest is an inaccurate counting of punches either thrown or land as well as a reversing of the punches thrown between fighters. This is critical when playing a game online where most fights are going the distance. You can also check outthe rest of the 2ksports forums to so somw of the other problems.

you stated something about the stats when it come to the punch output. I never encountered that in a match. One day last week I did, I was a bit peeved. I waxed this guy, punching him alot. Still it had him winning the match and HIM landing more blows than me. I was confused as heck, I was then upset. Searching the forums for a patch. lol.

Hey JUGGANOTT how are ya? Dude i fought a guy a 4 rd fight DESTROYED him for the first 3 rds. On rd 4 I had my brother count how many time he hit me and I counted how many times I hit him. I hit him 70-80 times stopped count at 10 sec mark. My bro said the guy hit me 30 time. end of fight he won all rds and the punch totals were reversed!!!! I have also seen this in offline play as well.The game DOES NOT KEEP SCORE PROPERLY.
SET up two offline guys throw 20 hooks with one and 20 jabs with the other everytime I do it the count is wrong. I also had a match were it said I thru 222 left hooks and landed 241 left hooks. Magic gloves of multiple hits from D&D I guess. ANyone seen my dice? Hence no patch a 6 in my book and that is because it does have some very good ideas.

Yeah, I beat the breaks off one guy. Looked up and the totals made it seem as if he beat the heck out of me. I was kinda fustrated. When the match was over I just looked at the score cards for about 5 mins. With my jaw dropped. lol.

I instantly went into another match and got my head handed to me. WHY? I was trying to hard to knock the guy out, and he ended up knocking ME out. Sheesh. Fustration. lol.

after playing the demo....a 5. great graphics,i have an idea of how the stroy mode is gonna be and i dig that a lot but controls i'm not feeling which is why overall why i'm giving it a 5. its not neccessarly good nor bad...its decent.

Score it a 8.  Being that this is their 1st boxing game, it needs work.  I hope they release another boxing game, remove Don Kings name, and improve what they have going.  They had the right idea with the impoved angles, story mode, etc.   Now they just need to execute it in a way that works well.
