I've had Outrun 2 for a few weeks now and am stuck on the 4th set of challenges.  In particular in nearly all of the challenges I simply run out of time.

For instance, one of the challenges is a straight race.  I easily get to 1st place and stay there - no crashes and perfect cornering. I'm always at least 2 corners before the checkpoint when the timer runs out.  I can stick at 186mph for nearly the whole race - the timer still runs out.

This happens with ALL of the cars - I tried the dreaming cheat just to see if it was the cars i was picking - happens in every car.

Even in the other challenges the timer simply runs out - and I'm not even crashing or hitting the walls or slowing down at all. 

what am i doing wrong?

You talking about Outrun 2 or the new Coast to Coast?

In the original OutRun 2 I completed all challenges with AAA except the last 5 long races and one stage that I dont remember in which stage now, because it's impossible really, or the game as some bug while you racing (it happened once in my 60+ hours of play) or it's impossible, because in the last set of corners theres always to much trafic and if you break or hit something, you lose the time to get the AAA.

Anyway if it's the original OutRun 2 its possible to finish all, except maybe with all AAA. In Coast to Coast still need to play it more. Really want to find more time to play it.

I don't understand how so many people gave a miss to this excellent game, it's one of my favourites all time.

 

 

 

I got the game yesterday.  I beat all 101 challenges yesterday and today.

Granted, I had the game 3 years ago, the fact is its very possible.  It just takes a fair amount of skill.  God the game is damn fun.
