Im sure it would only be a retail release and in japan.  Wishful thinking though. :)

It wouldn't be a retail release if Ikaruga wasn't a retail release. Treasure would have to redo the graphics in at least 720p and they are still working on another shooter for 360 right now anyway which might come before it. I'm sure they know there is demand for it so hopefully they bring it to XBLA someday.

i dont know, look what they did to Ketsui - disk release, japan only.   The only reason why i would even bother saying that is with the whole we want to change the arcade and bring less ports outlook from microsoft.

An XBLA release of RS wouldn't surprise me actually. It's 10 years old, had a port before, and the demand is there. It would have to be a complete port of the Saturn version though, at the very least. With the new size limits now, I think Treasure could pull it off. The main game is really small (less than 10mb, I think). They should be able to squeeze all of the video files + extra stuff into the remaining space.

If the quality of the XBLA port of Ikaruga is any indication, there shouldn't be anything to worry about.

Also, this old article may be of interest : Link

it may be wishful thinking, the reason i mentioned it was because N64 Treasure game "Sin and Punishment" is available on the Wii's virtual console, and that was a japan only release aswell,

An RSG port is a waste of time. Ebay isn't hard to use; there are emulators that will run the game at full speed. There's just no need for a simple port because it's easy to find and play in its current form.

I would rather have Treasure work on new material than use up all their time and resources remaking stuff I've already played.

Yeah, Radiant Silvergun is available in emulated form... albeit, you still have to have a pretty powerful machine to run it maxed-out. A little tricky to get it running, at least, I had troubles getting it to run for a while.

As far as I can tell, the Dreamcast has been emulated for a little while now too, at full speeds supposedly, with a very high compatibility rate.. That makes me assume Ikaruga has already be emulated as well.

If anything, a port of the actual arcade game of Radiant Silvergun would still be nice. It doesn't have the extra stage from the Saturn version, nor does it have all of the added cutscenes and bonus stats. However, the arcade game as-is is still about an hour in length straight-through and a still a phenomenal play without all the extra bonus icing on top.

The majority of dreamcast games run great.  Have been for many years.  Ikaruga runs but not at optimal frame rates.

I still have my import Radiant Silvergun. One of the best games ever including all genres. I have always wanted a re-release in english just to see what the story was all about.
