Re: Who likes this game?

yeah.....i didnt like the trial too much either.  but i am going to try really hard to make this game work since i was very excited about it since dodgeball is one of the greatest games ever thought up.

400 points and it is a no-brianer. but for 800 points there is so much more out there for the same price.

im sick of these games being high priced because they have camera support. lost cities did the same thing.  nobody uses the camera on these things so the option isnt necessary.  can anyone else see why this would be 800 points?

I honestly thought that they'd release a good game like, oh I don't know Duke Nukem 3D since E3's going on but instead it's... This...

FYI. As has been stated in the past, most "new" games you will see hit Xbox Live Arcade will be set at 800 Microsoft Points or higher. And remember all Xbox Live Arcade games will always come with a free trial version to try out the game, unless it is a free title of course. Wink [;)]

This game is just terrible. Most of the games I play are from the arcade section but I definately won't buy this one. And 800 points for this game? Get real!!!!

I can't believe anyone would buy this game even for 400 points. Not a good game at all.

Downloaded the demo and laughed; I wouldn't buy this for 400 points, let alone 800.

I own 60 XBLA titles, and am fairly generous with what I purchase, but this is just a joke.

As if the 10$ initial price tag wasn't bad enough for something like this, notice in the "how to play sections" where it talks about ball types and player types which be made available when you purchase the planned expansion dlc items--no thanks.

I personally loved this game.
I had so much fun playing the trial game, and was sad when I figured out I didn't have any M$ points or money..

Re: Who likes this game?

this is no doubt the best arcade title released to date. i dont understand how a high majority of people think this game is garbage. i play chromehounds, halo 3 and arcade games. thats it! i think i have 53 full-arcade games now and always favored 2 but it took less than 10 minutes to realize how good this game is.

i have all the achievements obtainable offline now. me and my wife have been playing for hours. we only played shizoid or whatever for like 40 minutes maybe? as for the dl content, yeah, kingdom under fire: circle of doom pulled off the same thing. i really dont feel like promoting this game but i will point out some stuff.

you can choose the color of the 2 teams. you can type the name of the 2 teams. (for me its Ginormous vs. Knockers.) you can choose a jersey number or letter for each member. all the bots dont have to be normal, you can change their class and add bots to those empty slots. the thing that got me questioning whether or not to buy was if it had same screen multiplayer and it has 4. there must be atleast 2 members per team so you and your friend can fight 2-6 bots with 0-4 bots on your team or obviously fight each other.

plasma ground set has drag but space has no drag however you drift a little in the last moved direction and the ice ground set is slippery. east levels have a goalie like player, i prefer the west maps. music blows! what else? you can read about the classes. oh, and something that more people care about but i dont. there is 4 xbox live required achievements but all the achievements are really simple and easy. the online ones, they will be easy if the population is high enough.

well worth 800. with the release of an actual good arcade title recently, (shizoid) i thought microsoft would send us a bunch of junk for another couple months until the next good title. anyone know when feeding frenzy 2 is coming out?

btw, i'am not an employee of whatever company made this game. i dont usually encourage people to "buy something" but the initial gameplay influenced myself this was going to be one of those download, launch, 10 second play and delete games. see you online when they re-release it!Yes [Y] (whatever dumb*** released it early. probably same guy who screwed up battlezone.)

Re: Who likes this game?

after a long time playing it, i really liked it.

one thing i dont like is that it takes me back to being a kid when we played dodgeball in gym class.  if you the "all star" gets knocked out......your team mates just sit there with their thumbs up their a.sses.  and the game last forever! like when you were kids and the last person in was always the kid who didnt know to play and managed to remain in play the whole game because he never steps up to the front and tries.  watching the cpu play out some of these games is brutal.

and on a side note - i thinkl the 50 win achievement may be a little glitchy.  i have easily won over 80 games.  and no achievement yet.   im hoping one of these times soon it unlocks.  but every game i play ends in dissapointment

Printmatic, you have to win 50 full matches, not just the rounds. It'll work once you've won 50 full games.

Re: Who likes this game?

trust me - i have won WAY more than 50 full games...

i got my 20 mvps. boosted around 10 games online for online achievements. so there are 30 wins

then continued to play for about 4 hours last night where i won about 5 out of every 6 games. estimated around 30-40 wins.

then i played and won 6 more before i came to work today.

plus before i started boosting last night i would say i won about 10 games right when it got fixed as i was learning how to play.

there is no way i am still under 50 wins

i was trying to be the first in the world to get 200/200 in this, but i gave up last night around 2:00 AM because i seen orange machine had beat me.  but if this achievement wasnt being a b.itch - i might have beat him to it.

I'm having the same problem. I was up until 4:00 AM playing this game. I know that i have way over 50 wins, but there's no way to check all of your wins.

hmmm.... try getting either 50 wins online or 50 wins offline. it's possible that the two are recorded separately.

I don't mind the very simple graphic style.  But what I don't like is how easy it is to judge opponent's throws.  The fact that you can't change your angle while charging your throw is dumb.

I much preferred Super Dodgeball for NES and SNES.

I might have been tempted with online play if it were 400pts... but at 800pts, it's not really worth it.

and this is exactly why i havent bought any arcade games since last summer, just because its set at 800 doesnt mean its worth that price.....good game or not.

Re: Who likes this game?

800 ms points is only $10. Why are people complaining? I can understand if the games were 1200 points, but come on. Soul Calibur is a classic and it's only 800 ms points. But games like Penny Arcade (1600 points) are not worth that price at all, so i get what you're saying Yes [Y]

I like the idea of a dodgeball game, especially with up to 8 players on Live.  Do enough people play this game to make it worth a purchase for multiplayer matches?  I'd hate to spend the 800 points on this, search for online matches, and find no matches.

Hardly no one plays this game online. Everyone boosted (including me Embarrassed [:$]) for the achievements on July 17th. The game was pulled on the 16th because people couldn't play it online. It was put back on the marketplace at the end of the day, but people had already given up on it Wilted Flower [W]

According to vgchartz, it sold a mere 257 copies lol...

The game is awfully laggy online. I mean seriously. We had to play the 8 player game to get the achievement 3 times cuz of the lag people were dropping out.. it was awful.

Lag stabilized with only 2-3 people playing, but anymore and it got unbearable.

This really is a terrible game.. and at 800 points its a travesty. 400 points woulda been a better selling point.

There is no single player really.. winning 50 matches took like 30 minutes.. the hardest part was getting people for the online achievements..

Re: Who likes this game?

i'm quite surprised that this hasn't done better then it is doing now.

it's not going to be in the top 10's ever probably unlike MBU and zuma and doom.

but its fun, i've just had plain fun out of it.

also i'm finding it quite scary that this forum for it only has 13 topics. i didn't know a forum on xbox.com could have so little really.

Mr. Vanity in the flesh.

NO, i do not do 1 vs. 1 MBU matches, i don't play MBU anymore...please stop asking

I agree--people are free to like what they want to, but this is one of the single worst games available on the arcade.

That this was the "surprise" E3 release...that they had the gall to charge 800 points for this...that the developers think anyone would purchase additional dlc packs for this game....  ugh, it just disappoints me so much to see the XBLA service used so poorly.
