Too Human reminds me of.
An earlier RPG i use to play on the Playstation 1. If anyone is familiar it's called DarkStone. A dungeon crawling hack and slash RPG. It really makes me interested in Too Human because i must have spent 150+ hours on DarkStone. And by what Denis Dyack is saying....i really need to get this game. Im really excited for this game and i can see myself playing this game for months and months to come. I don't see all the fuss with hating the controls. I say it's not another game that ea made that you can play for 5 or 6 hours max and your done with(what a waste of money*cough*Bad Company*cough*) If anyone else is looking forward to looting the S**t out of this game. Send me an FR :)

Re: Too Human reminds me of.
The loot tables remind me of Champions of Norrath, as do the skill trees.
The runes remind me of socketting in any game that's ever done it.

I'm excited about everything else because:-

The storyline is unique, offhand I can't think of other games that have tried to present alternative histories in this way to explain mythology in the present day, at least not in such a fantastical way.

The customisation, there really are a huge number of ways you can tweak a character when you factor in charms and runes.  I'm not sure how big the loot tables are but if the sheer variety between levels 1 and 8 are any indication it's going to be great fun seeing what there is.

The fast paced combat and diversity, I love the fact that there isn't just a dungeon to crawl full of secret areas and the usual puzzles to clear to get to them, there are timed and non-timed arenas too, some with bosses, some without.

The way they've taken the usual RPG stereotype classes (swords, shields, hammers) and mixed in grenade launchers, plasma, and little robot spiders that do your bidding, it's very rare you get such a mix.

They way they give you the quest reward first and then tell you what the quest is (e.g. they give you a Charm, then tell you you have to kill 200 goblins and get a few runes to activate it).  It's really no different to an NPC telling you to go out and kill 200 goblins then giving you a Charm after as a reward, but it's a neat twist.

The novel way that some cutscenes aren't really cutscenes, only seen this once in the demo so far (where you can shoot a goblin while you're looking at yourself through his eyes) but looking forward to seeing if it's used more in the full game.

There's still a bunch of stuff I'm looking forward to discovering, like how Alignment either towards cybernetics or human affects your growth, or what to do with Tokens once they're all collected, or how long it'll take to acquire a full set of level 50 epics, but overall really looking forward to release day and getting started on some phat loot hunting.

keep in mind that this is the first piece of a trilogy so with that being said. By the time you get bored with this one the next one may be in the works (not to mention DLC)

(Dennis has already confirmed atleast 1 new class just didn't give any info on it)

Oh and as far as Bad company lmao i pre ordered that. (wish i hadn't)

Traded it in gonna put the money from that on TH.

If you act like a child you will get called on it...

Yea......didn't really care for the demo but I have been looking forward to this game for like two years now so though I am not buying it I am going to rent through gamefly and hopefully, after I see the Biig Picture in the final product I will convert to a buy.

And I am not seeing the comparision to Champions, That game was epic!!! only thing missing was xbox live, which I remember me and three other guys using XBL to talk while we play CON on our PS2's.

Yeah i'm excited for a game that is gonna last me a long time. I was pretty stoked when i heard it was a trilogy. The download content seems great from what i've heard so far.

Oh and the other day did the same thing with Bad Company ;)

My local Gamestop might even have a midnight launch for the game :)

Too Human reminds me of...

Silver

Die by the Sword

Played 'em both on the PC. And you controlled your sword through moving the mouse.

This time on Xbox it's the stick that controlls the sword. Very similar.

Re: Betreff: Re: Too Human reminds me of.
The loot system is an exact borrowing from the Blizzard Diablo loot grade system.  (Grey - White - Green - Blue - Purple)  They even use the prefix system indicating what properties an item will have by it's name.

They aren't the only game to do it and frankly it being a good system that many millions of players recognize it's probably not the last time we'll see it.
