Not proper crossowords - very poor
To my mind a decent crossword consists of fairly long words with a few intersections.

a 15 x 15 grid with 75+ little words is for kids.

You do, of course, realize this title topic is misspelled... maybe you could use some easy crosswords to improve on your spelling ;)

But seriously, Konami saw fit to get the puzzles from PennyPress, the most generic, run-of-the-mill source they could have used.  I'm pretty sure they were randomly generated by computer.  There will probably be plenty more downloadable puzzles in the future, all of the same lackluster breed.

Naturally, though, this isn't even close to the most disappointing thing about this game...  - ZM

They remedy the lack of challenge in the crosswords by giving you a tediously slow input interface and a time limit so strict that there's barely enough time to just enter the answers, let alone think about the clues.

Switch to Time Attack. There is no time countdown restriction in that mode. Indifferent [:|]

What, 90 minutes isn't enough for you?  The interface is utter crud, but it isn't THAT unusable.

...Hmm, from what I've been hearing, the demo offers less time than the full version does.  Well, that was an obviously stupid idea, especially since it seems to be a fairly common complaint, with the assumption that the full version would be no different.  (And it certainly isn't the only obviously bad design choice in this title...)  I need to stop buying XBLA games without demoing them.  - ZM
