Download quality is 3/4 of the disc quality.

Just downloaded it, and it is so obviously less than the disc that it's ridiculous. As put in post, is about 3/4 as good as the disc version.

If you run the game and let the music video play, that scenes from the game are 1/2 as good as the disc.

This is is yet another reason why i dont like microsoft or its game division.

so , yea, to all those who want to buy the download, DONT. get the disc instead.

Microsoft lies.

Are you sure? I thought it was the exact same game.

Do you actually have the original Xbox disc to compare it to or are just judging by the music video? (which is most likely heavily compressed).

The visual quality is the same as the disc. The original render was only in 480p so it looks extremely dated on our high defs. It's still an amazing game though.

If something goes without saying...LET IT!

Re: Download quality is 3/4 of the disc quality.

just downloaded the game and i think i have to agree with you!

the character models have way too many jaggies which look terribly awful!

i have downloaded 8 xbox original games and this one is definitely the most worst one on presetation!!

the graphic quality should not be like this on the original XBOX console, it must be the problem of xbox emulator IMO

no matter what, avoid it at all cost while you can, save your MS Points and play the PC version instead!!!

MS lies!

Re: Download quality is 3/4 of the disc quality.
Why would the jaggedness of the models depend on the emulator? "Jaggedness" is tied to the resolution of the game, and any anti-aliasing software. Many games on the PS2 and Xbox had very jaggy 3D models, that looked smoothed out on a normal SD television. I suspect this is the reason for the perceived difference in visual quality, instead of the emulator being faulty.

Also, most of the games on every video game system look worse than that system's best looking game. I'd like to see comparison videos before I believe that the quality is that much worse.

Betreff: Download quality is 3/4 of the disc quality.
I don't know about the XBox disc version, but I played Dreamfall on my pc with a 22" widescreen. The graphic quality was rather impressive, but when I started my downloaded xbox version I was surprised, that it looked equally good on my good old 32" 4:3 TV set. I'm not yet on HD, and I think those who say that the game looks actually better on 480 dpi may have a point. It's after all what the game was made for.
All I realized is that the background ditters when the camera moves too fast, but the chars look good and I did not detect any disturbing graphic problems. The good thing about the downloaded version is the short loading time in game. For all I know, XBox games load faster from the hard drive than from the disk.
As it is - I am not unhappy with my downloaded version.
