The issues with the recent Mission Mode downloadable content are being looked at. The DLC for Ninja Gaiden II has been temporarily taken down.
Once more information is shared, I'll let you guys and girls know. But for now, just hang tight while the powers that be sort it all out.
And thanks for everyone leaving feedback on their experiences.

Let's hope that is the case If not, at least it is an issue that is not going ignored. Hopefully a resolution is speedy.
ImmortalArbiter wrote:The update shouldn't affect you, as long as you skip cutscenes. But finishing the game is literally impossible, because on the way to the final set of boss fights, you freeze when a cutscene tries to load.
Yeah, I am at the last savestone, before the final fight sequence, on my master ninja playthrough, looks like I am dead in the water for now.
Yeah nice one MS and Team Ninja. Know Itagaki-san is gone. I guess I'll expect crap like this now. Once I did the download this morning. Ninja Gaiden 2 keep looking for a storage device so I could get an achievement in Survival mode. I deleted the DLC and it still glitched. So finally, I had to delete my game config save file. That stopped the glitch. But at the same time, I have to find the skulls again.
Being the first in line this time really didn't pay off this time.

[Update from Gamerscoreblog Team]
“The team believes they have isolated and fixed the Mission Pack problem that some of you reported earlier this morning. They will continue to test it over the weekend and are hoping to get it back onto Marketplace on Monday. If you already downloaded the pack, go ahead and sign into LIVE. Your achievement should update allowing you to continue playing. The freezing issue is still being investigated.”
From now on when I go to play a game and theres an update, Im going to turn off my console disconnect it from the internet and then play without the update. Then I'll go online and make sure the new update is ok.
just thought i`d share my relief that my game freezing after the first achievement unlock whilst playing the mission mode is not an isolated issue it seems. customer support promised to call me within 48 hours with an update on their investigation. i await their call.
just to clarify, a blade keeps popping out of the right hand side of my screen saying the storage device containing the active profile is disconnected when it clearly isnt.

ImmortalArbiter wrote:Also look into the issues with the new Title Update. It's causing freezes during cinematics, and it's actually impossible to finish the game with the update, since you can't access the final string of boss fights.
Great I havn't played NGII in 2 days and now I find out I can't play NGII online at all for the next however long? XBOX LIVE CERT. TEAM give each game update-patch at least 1 full playthrough, connected to xbox live and at least one pc, just to make sure you don't brick any more consoles... This is amazingly bad... the cert team that handled this game should, without a doubt, be fired, yes even the management running that team... they should be out and gone, because, to use a cooking example, this is the digital equivalent of serving someone a porkchop that was only cooked to half temp. it's just unacceptable, mistakes are ok, a little dust ocasionally is ok, but obviously not playing through a patch far enough to figure out that the first achievement is boned is rediculous, and not noticing the freezing issues is equally not cool. I wish them the best of careers doing... well, anything else non cert related. This team obviously does not have the ethics to accomplish anything more than rubber stamping. Increasingly more often, stupid people in the software industry(mannagement) think that automated testing can flatout replace playtests, what they don't realise is that while automated testing and debugging can take allot of the gruntwork out of the equasion, without realworld tests giant scary bugs can sneek through.
Just a fiew days ago I was telling a friend that Xbox 360 was the nicer choice because of Microsofts cirtification process, and because it seems that the 360 even given all it's early hardware troubles, is the more stable architecture, this NGII MM fiasco is making me look not so educated right now, lets hope you figure this poop out before he finds himself cursing me.
karmacosis wrote:Yeah, I discovered this to my disgust when I tried to finish the game for my tonfa achievement. It locks up every time at the cutscene just before you fight Dagra Dai. It's just ****** ridiculous.
I just discovered the same problem in the same area this morning. My screen goes black, and my controller vibrates at the cut scene in the tunnel leading to Dagra Dai.

DDR Midian wrote:Mission Mode is working fine for me now. Connected to Live, achievements aren't freezing the game and they're showing up on xbox.com. Now we just need a patch for the cutscene issue and we're sorted.Edit: I didn't get any additional updates to fix MM either, which leads me to believe the problem was server side and XBL simply wasn't recognizing the new achievements yet.
But did you have the problem of having the storage device message pop up every 2 seconds? When I saw that Gamerscore blog update last night, I tried the game... still got the messages, still the achievement didn't register. Tried it again this morning, same thing. I don't know what theyr'e trying to say in that blog update, but this problem certainly isn't fixed yet.
