Today I started playing Mercenaries on my 360, and I am in the first half of the game. I notice that when I get too close to Chinese territory, the radar goes blue and blurry, and if I continue, then I freeze. If I stay in areas where the radar is NOT blue, then I seem to be okay. Maybe this information will help you guys.

 

     But now how the heck am I supposed to progress through the game? the only "main" missions I can do right now are either the South Korean mission where you rescue the guy at the airport, or a Chinese mission that I cannot learn anything about because I cannot make it to there HQ without freezing.

 

     If I just keep trying will I get lucky? Does this happen during the second stage of the game as well?

I don't think it will change. It sounds as if the BC update that was for this game was corrupt. We will have to wait for others that play the game to reply. That really sucks though. That game was so cool. I will be trying the new one later this month when my husband gets it for review. Maybe I can get my hands on it for more than an hour.

Corrupt or just not good... Either way unless I'm missing something the south korean airport level is officially impossible.

What  really needs to be done is a reissurance of the patch to completely fix this game especially & others with similar problems. It's been a problem for a while & for them 2 just ignore the consumer is downright rude. Doubt I'll be purchasing anything else from MS & that includes their next console if there is one. Customer service sucks!!

I'm guessing that the 360 has so many problems so the next Xbox can have more to improve on. ANYWAY, dude, you don't need the minimap to beat the game- I've gotten about 3/4 of the way through without it. It is by no means "impossible."
