Texas holdem has a very serious problem
This game has serious problems.. This is the second time I have involuntarily forfeited a game and lost 4000 dollars.. It has to stop!! I cant even play this game any more because it glitches(the dealer will deal and it wont stop passin out cards and we all are forced to leave because no one can do anything) and the situation above will happen(I wiil be playing with 7 others and all of a sudden they all leave the table together and I lose 4000 bucks) Because of this, I cant trust this game. How do I know that it wont take my money everytime I play?? Its fruitless.. Please if anybody out there is connected with microsoft or knows someone who works for xbox, pass the word along.. Its not just me either ive seen countless others just leave the table right in the middle of a game for no reason.. This game needs some serious Maintenance... Patch this game!! Or do something people are goin all in in the beginning alot because they dont want the game to kick them. And it does. Alot....

Re: Texas holdem has a very serious problem
I've been having this problem with Texas Hold 'Em, Catan, and 3-D Golf (just bought this a couple weeks ago) for about a month or so. Though it might be my connection, but I haven't had the same issue with Phantasy Star Universe during that time with the same frequency. Also played Halo 3 recently with no issues. I think this is an XBox Arcade issue. I was discussing this with a fellow XBox live friend today and he suggested it's not the games themselves or my connection, but XBox Live Arcade's servers.

Re: Texas holdem has a very serious problem

I reported this to Major Nelson.  He thinks it is a problem with the game itself.  Possibly, but MSFT should work with Tik Games to resolve it.  I don't play in 50k or 500k games because of the cheaters even though my legitimate bankroll is $560k from playing $4k games after the last leaderboard reset.

There are people who exploit the cheat.  Some have over $10m after playing fewer than 500 competitive tournament hands.  Pathetic losers.

This issue has still not been fixed - I just was robbed of hours of playing in which I built up my Competitve bankroll through Tournament games, jumped into my biggest game so far, $4000 buy in, got down to last 2 at the table, then get kicked out with no explanation, or even the prize of Second Place - even though I had 3x the chips of my competitor.

This is the first thing that has made me think of LIVE in a negative way - I can't believe how angry I am!!!

Yeah the game is basically worthless, I get booted off most of the time playing 4K games so there's really no point to playing. I guess the developers got our $$$ and there are not refunds whether the game works or not. If you're considering playing online poker, look elsewhere... There are many free alternatives that work.

It can be frustrating but I do not get kicked off most of the time.  I will not buy anything else from Tik Games until they fix the glitches though.

One thing I have discovered with the New XBOX Experience is that if you're in the XBOX Guide while waiting for a game to start and the game fills up, you will likely be kicked out of the game :(

Heh, this just happened to me a few minutes ago.  I immediately doubled my money on the first hand and then everyone left, so I avoided all of the players because I thought they were being sore.  But perhaps it was just this glitch.

Very bad! This has happened to me a lot.  It's not my connection as I do not experience this problem with any other LIVE games.  It is particulary frustrating in the tournaments competitive matches!

I sent them a complaint about this and that Away Mode is enabled for the Tournaments (a cheat if you ask me):

I agree!  I keep seeing people who just hang out in Away Mode for most of the game and then come back towards the end once most of the players are gone.  Bugs the hell out of me.

Re: Texas holdem has a very serious problem

Salvaging your buy-in when you're about to lag out:

When players begin to drop off quickly and you're the only one left (or one of three players left) on the table, do the following QUICKLY:

1) press the START button,
2) press UP on the D-pad, and
3) press the X button.

This will force you to leave the table before the game kicks you out into 8th place (thus losing your buy-in).
If you're quick enough and time the sequence properly, you'll end up with the winnings for 1st, 2nd or 3rd place depending on when you left the table.

Good luck and good gaming!

Re: Texas holdem has a very serious problem

I just recently started playing this on a regular basis again.  I worked my way up into the $4000 buy-in tournaments, and every now and then I'd see someone leave the game unexpectedly.  At first I just assumed that they had gotten tired and quit (I usually play late at night), but then I saw it happening more and more, even people with large chip counts getting booted.  Then last night, I was playing in a tournament, and I saw five people get booted at once - I was the only one left - and then I got the boot as well, coming in 8th place and losing my $4k.  I'll definitely try the Start-Up-X next time I find myself in that situation.

I absolutely loved playing this game, but if this sort of thing is happening on a regular basis, I'll have to really think twice about continuing to play this.

How widespread is the cheating at the $50K and higher buy-in tournaments?  I'm glad I found this out before I started getting involved in those.

Re: Texas holdem has a very serious problem

Being on away m8 is not cheating its the same as a player in a tournament who has a big chip stack just folding away into biger money so how can foldin be a cheat? still i know how frustrating it can be knowing that if the man/woman plays hands he could take out other players for you. good luck

It's definitely not the same.  Folding every hand would at least require participation.  When you do this, you're just letting the game play for you until the end.  If someone's so "busy" that they can't play the game themselves, they just shouldn't bother playing.

Re: Texas holdem has a very serious problem
I used to love this game but after loosing nearly a million chips because three tournements simply shut down once the game started I will never play this game again.  I dedicated MONTHS to this game only to loose all of my hard work in minutes!!  The company shouyld reimburse us for the chips we lost, as they must be recorded on a server somewhere, or issue a refund for the games purchase.
Change can lead to something better or something worse. How you react to it makes it better or worse for you.

Re: Texas holdem has a very serious problem
If it weren't for the cheaters and glitches in this game, I would be one of the top players on the leaderboards. The professionalism in this game is absolute bullshit and I'm sick of all of this happening over and over again. This is what I spend 75% of my time on Xbox Live doing so fix this problem, Microsoft or you'll be saying goodbye to me for a while.

FINALLY! My 360 came back home better than ever! Halo 3 Time!!!

This just happened to me in a free game. Won a hand and got booted. Makes me wary of joining big money games. Hope this issue is fixed soon.

I just got screwed last night with the same problem....2nd place and got kicked out, it said I took 8th place and I lost my $4,000.

From what it sounds like, the company who made this game hasn't tried to fix anything.
