Fair enough, but i'm sure they were renowned for being terrible. But back on subject, I think if you were to own carts and horses you may as well be able to own a stable. Also I'd like to have more quests where you have to choose a side to work for and stick to it. Fingers of the mountain was close but i'd like one with, say, rival factions, town guards, or a prision uprising.

No its not. They used the same version of the Gamebryo engine they used on Oblivion. They just upped the gloss map on basically all their meshes.

As for Deaths question. It wouldn't create any barricades for modders, the job would just become 10 times harder to do. Attention to detail would need to be taken into factor, because as you can see, the ID tech5 engine is quite nice.

I would like to see a blend of the gameplay elements in Morrowind Fallout and Oblivion.
From Oblivion, I would like to see all the technological innovations they made return, as well as the upgraded combat system, magic system, enchanting system, and much deeper guild questlines.
From Morrowind, I would like to see the same roleplaying elements, high number of unique quests, very high number of unique weapons and armors, and the same type of game world, with MANY cities and settlements each with their own different political climate and citizens.
From Fallout, the unique encounters and the interaction the character has with the world is incredible. I have no doubt in my mind that Bethesda will include this in their next RPG. Also, the environment and setting is very good, and hopefully Bethesda can include what they have learned in setting the ambience for Fallout 3 in TES:V

All said and done, does anybody know anything about this game yet?

Re: Ideas for Elder Scrolls V2
-Dual weaponry

-Throwing knives

-Hookswords as one of many more weapons

-More armor types

-Shoulder pauldrons, perhaps?(I miss Morrowind)

-More hair

-More overall customization I guess ^^

-Ability to forge weapons and armor

-House/farm building?

-Tree climbing(good for assassinations)

-Actual followers. Have randomly generated people follow you because of your fame, or be able to start your own warrior-group

I'm so in love with the thought of loving you baby.

considering the last game i played with that was fable 2 and it didnt work there i hope it isnt in the next TES but i do like the idea of fame, maybe the more famous you are more peoplen will offer quests, it makes more sense than running out of the imperial prison and some one who i never met before says the im the only person they can trust and the need my help

as much as i would love this idea i still dont think the engine could handle climbing

WOOTSAUCE!

Sure and while we're at it how about a cover system, reganerating health, and M4 carbine and more FPS cliche's

Morrowind was supposed to have dual weaponry for the weapons "Sunder" and "Keening." But game limitations stopped that. The result was something that looked incredibly stupid.

*Stab heart*
*go into inventory*
*switch to sunder*
*beat the heart*
*go into inventory*
*switch to keening*

and repeat! Stick out tongue [:P]

Re: Ideas for Elder Scrolls V2
In oblivion the 2 handed swords resulted in not being able to equip a sheild. So surely bethesda could just design a lighter weapon which acts in a similar manner, i.e. two handed swords. This would be lighter and have less power providing a cheaper alternative to the 2 handed swords.

You couldn't dual wield in Oblivion, so there was no result to begin with.
You could block with two blades. Have  you ever tried blocking with a sword without having a shield equipped?
Now imagine doing that with two swords...

It'd work. Smile [:)]

Re: Ideas for Elder Scrolls V2
In regard to the old Massive World notion. . . here is my current opinion. . .Deathknow will likely make an assisination attempt on it, but whatever, it has a horcrux or two, so I'm not worried.

I am increasinlgy inclined towards an all out, Continent of Tameriel and surrounding seas game. The issue is more one of memory than of engine capacity. . . And most of us a whole gigabytes of memory on our sytstems that never gets utilized, right up until and through the point where we trade them in for the console of the following generation.  I have always said, I would even pay extra money for a Great game that went ahead and mad use of more memory in order to provide the most complete experience possible. Now, I still would not expect a load of quests in any location other than the games region of focus, as that would require too many man hours in the games creation. Perhaps a few massive side quests that involve all the related countries, but beyond that, I would expect the outer provinces to be more repetative and less densely populated than the central area of interest to the game. But otherwise, go ahead and take up 9mb instead of 1.2, and give me the two or three disc game that has every province, every realm of Oblivion and an ocean worthy of the name.

oops i made a mistake in that. I just realised that i should have said... "surely bethesda could just design a lighter weapon which acts in a similar manner, i.e. dual swords"... Im just saying that if they did include dual weapons they could just itemise them as one weapon and disallow the use of shields like the 2 handed swords in oblivion.

If you honestly believe that, then your post just lost any and all credibility.

The Gamebryo engine struggles along with Cyrodiil alone. Throwing in the entire damn world is overkill for gamebryo, without major changes to it's memory management, among other things.

Even if it ran on iD 4, it would still require some major, and expensive changes.

It was my mistake to call it id4. I keep calling it that because they havent released DOOM 4  yet.
Its actually tech 5! zomgosh, i know!

Anyways, at Arthazal's comment. This isn't a dark brotherhood contract, I just want to state that I have about 200mb left on my drive. If Microsoft didn't give you the option to install  your games to the HDD so you get better performance/load times, I would be able to download all the DLC's I wanted....

But since Saints Row 2 takes up 7GB (it doesnt even have the best graphics either) I lose almost half of my hard drive. I do this because the console has a hard time reading games.

Cyrodiil is 6.7 gb on its current engine. Thats Saints row right there! You can only expect it to get bigger my friend..

Microsoft would have to start putting out 500gb hard drives for all the DLC's and installing we're gonna be doing.

Seeing as the 120GBis ridiculously expensive now, Im sure a 500GB would just be just as much as a scam as the 120GB. but that would be counter balanced by the fact it would be so essential for gamers (mainly live users).

The fact that I have to penny pinch every single bit of my memory is very sad. Having a 1TB HDD on my PC makes me feel as if I have an unlimited storage capacity; its going to be very hard to fill something of that scale.

I have a 20GB HDD. Came standard for my 360. Microsoft should have released proper HDD sizes considering the plans they wanted to make in the future.

The supposed '20GB' Hard drives only gave the user about 12 GB to work with, the rest is filled with undeleteable stuff, that not including any of the updates they come out with

ok i know i brought up horses befor. but what about better horse fighting? if im being attacked, and the horse is suposed to fight why does he only rear, why cant he kick at thing behind him also, and bite? why cant you have a horse and have your bond with the horse grow as you adventure with it more? so like when you first buy or recive the horse its bond with you might not be all that strong so it wong fight so ferosiously for you. but as time goes on, the bond gets stronger and the more his fighting....umm skills(?) gets. but if you get a new horse...then you have to start over. and the strenght of the horse depends on the breed, like they have now. paints the worse and slowest, the blacks the fastes but not as 'sturdy' as the whites.....anyone understand?
