Lame

This was a terrible idea. First of all, Sony already did it with eyetoy. Secondly, just because wii has alot of sales, Microsoft felt the need to make some dumb family game - garbage. Considering that this was a moderate sized announcement at e3, this board is completely dead.

Phail.

Re: Lame

If you have a family or friends over for some drinks (of course, if you are of age...) then this can be a pretty funny game IMO.

I mean, when we have parties over here after dropping the kids off at the inlaws, we all become rock stars with Rock Band.  There is nothing like a room full of 30somethings buzzed and thinking they are on tour with Unpainted Huffheins until the early hours of the AM.

Gold star for those that know the reference of my silly & terrible rock band name...

It is a goofy idea that may work, who knows.  I know I'd pick it up if it was bundled properly with the vision cam.   This would seem to be a good game for the casual crowd.  They need more software for the visioncam.  This fits the model to me.

I can get a room to play RB or this new game over GOW or CoD4.  My wife and friend's wives refuse to try those types of games, but I can see them wanting to try this movie game.

Plus, it would look sexy on my big old basement / mancave home theatre system.

This isn't a game for a Teenager. Or any Hardcore gamer. This is for Casual Gamers with Families. Atleast (IMO)

Re: Lame
I wont be buying this, but I feel xbox is all about fps and driving/sportsgames. About time Msoft release something different - I know a heap of people that didn't buy Xbox because it had a severe lack of games for kids/families and got a wii or ps3 instead. This is a big market so I completely understand Msoft.

For others there are halo and gears.

I'll be picking this one up.  I'll all for a good FPS but my wife and I like to have people over for drinkies at casual game parties, like SceneIt or Rock Band.  This will just be one more game to add to the list of drunken game fun for us old folks. Big Smile [:D]

Yeah, and you are absolutely quite right there my friend.
I can't tell how many times I've invited folks over and we're playing Donkey Kong drum game, Buzz, Mario party or something else like that. Old folks like us :)

Re: Lame

My 8 year old is going to love this.  He loves making videos and being the star, so this will fit right in for him.
This game is not for hardcore gamers.  I think the social games are great for M$.  I can get my friends to play Scene It and Rock Band, but CoD or Halo, forget it.
I can easily see me bringing this game to the grandparents during Thanksgiving and having a blast getting my brain damaged ex junkie sister to 'act' in a movie trailer along with other family members.  It was funny enough watching her sing Timmy and the Lords of the Underworld in Rock Band, but trying to act, oh man...the possibilities of hilarity are endless.
I need to buy a pair of cameras anyways for vid chat with my kid since he doesn't live with me.

I agree with you 100% just got mine last night.  It is a fun game and a great change from Halo and call of duty ect.  Us "old" people need a game where we dont have to deal with 12 year olds that are unsupervised and swearing up a storm on xbox live because they cant get a swift kick in the back side.

Party games rock.

Phail. You fail since your "facts" are all wrong. Maybe next time you will actually post something you know about!

Re: Lame
Bought this game the other day.

Didnt work well at first.

Turned on more lights in the living room and added a green screen behind us.

Camera picked up images and made it look perfect on our 53 inch.

Kids loved it and the movie at the end was awesome.

Things I dont like are the "default" people that show up in the movie.
Instead of overwriting your character to cover up the "default character they should have not added them at all...

To the people complaining about the game.   Its a shame you dont have friends that will play with you or that your familiy didnt play with you when you were younger.  The game seems like a hit regardless of you wrong opinion.  You dont have to play...

I can't believe that people take time out of their own lives to complain about games they don't like or haven't even tried. If you don't like the game, then don't play it. It's that easy.

I'm a 34 year old married man and my wife and I love this game....it's pure silly fun and a welcome change of pace from shooters and racing games.

Well I know my friends and I enjoy it.  Its a great change o' pace from the usual party going games.  Also, if anyone wants to know,  I saw this game for $10 at best buy this weekend, and that includes the camera.

It's fun, but setting the camera up is a pain. I had to bring several more lamps into my room.
