I'm addicted to Geometry Wars 2 right now, and I want to know if this has any chance of keeping my interest, or will I be wanting to go back to GW2 after a day or two?

I think you would like it.  It doensnt have all the fancy modes that GW2 has, but it is a challenge and if you liked gw - you should give the demo a spin.

I liked it - the auto fire feature is kinda cool if you just want to fly around, using the satellites to fire on the sides or behind is cool feature.  And I like that you can use the ancient, vintage, or upscale models.  Overall it is a fun game.

I think Geometry Wars 2 is absurdly overrated - I much prefer this.

While I enjoy GW2, I think this is a much better game overall.

It is very difficult at first, but its also extremely satisfying as you watch yourself figure out each level and get further than you thought you ever would. The game has a nice range of graphical skins that you can unlock, which add to the replay value as you go through levels again and again, perfecting your score and enjoying the different sprites.

I haven't been able to put this down for days now. I tried playing Geo 2 again the other night and it simply didn't seem as "captivating" as it was, to me, before I bought Legions.

Definitely give the full game a buy if you enjoyed the demo, but be warned too that it is very difficult, so if that is a turn-off to you then you may want to steer clear.

I like it but there is a little too much "image overload" in it...i don't mind the awesome formations but do away with some of the other distracting screen stuff.

This game is worth the money, unlike BC rearmed this game is a true sequel  and the skins you unlock add to the replay value of the game. I love games that when you first play them you say no way in *** will I beat this game, I think this factor of the game makes it more rewarding when you do beat that level. In my opion this game has this factor more then Geo wars 2, so if you like that game you should like this one.

im not here to start the same argument we have already had in the other forum.

 

but you also need to know that the demo misleads you to think the game is easier than it is.

level 1 is very easy to beat with no deaths.  after that is gets really damn hard.  i have around 14-16 hours into this game and only have beat the last level 1 time.

 

if you like crazy paced challenges.  or if you like doing the same thing over and over and over and over again just for the slightest bit of progression.  then you will like this game.

 

but dont be fooled by the demo.  this game is insanely hard and i assure you you wont be able to 200/200 this thing if that matters to you.

I agree with printmatic with the 1 point that this game seems easy at first.

Kinda reminds me of when every1 complained bout ikaruga seeming easy in the demo then the full game owned them.

Ikaruga had been out for awile on other consoles tho this game is all new. Its a pretty dam good game, Difficulty is always a plus. the game is way too long for a game with limited backgrounds.

thats my one complaint on it. The backgrounds look boring but over all the gameplay makes far up for it.

My gripe with it is it doesn't "feel" or play like a Galaga game whereas Pacman CE still was Pacman at its core..this game doesn't really have the appeal for me that the original Galaga had.  The gameplay mechanic is completely different.

I love old Galaga, but this new Galaga is just as fun. I actually am glad it is all new mechanics, when I put it on vintage it still has that old style galaga feel, but that's just me.

This game is totally worth it.  This company knows how to do remakes right.  Pac-Man CE was a great game. Just like Pac-Man CE everything in this game is old and new at the same time.  Which is what a remake should be.

Compare this with Gauntlet or Robotron which could have been so much more interesting.

Galaga Legions is a high quality product.  Good effing game.

Well, you have a ship and you shoot things ;) (gross over simplification I know)  It seems we just have a different opinion on what change is good change.  The game play is really different, but it is in Pac-Man CE too.  For example: The dot eater gains speed.  He takes corners faster if you're already pushing in that direction.  The game as a whole is about 3x faster.  The mazes change on the fly but you're still just using your thumbstick to move the little guy.

I think a game like Galaga needed something new besides a new coat of paint.  Did you really want one shot?  I mean you still have to be strategic by placing your little shooter guys.  The closer they are to something, the more damage and faster they fire. I think more shooters could do with that mechanic, but I don't like the multiplier system resetting. It should also be uncapped.  It should not stop at 16x.

I guess I just see all positives with this new game.  Just like Pac-Man CE.

I do not like this game.

IMO It's a pretty good shooter that will last a long time.  However, don't get it if you want an easy 200AP as it's NOT easy.  it's also nt got the same "one more go" factor Pac Man CE had (which is a shame).

Agree with the earlier point on screen overload.  Personally I find that switching skins to "retro" helps a lot with recognising what the heck is going on!

I prefer the original skin myself, I gave them all a try and seemed to die less with the original lol. to the OP yes this game is worth buying, its hard and challenging so if your just after gamerscore maybe avoid.

The game is excellent. Very Slick. I think 880points is a bit toppy and that it should have been 400points like many XBL games thease days.

Its very hard thou and only alot of time and practice will see me getting anywhere.

GW2 is a great game also.

I didnt know what to expect from this game before downloading the demo. But now that I have played it a few times, Im really liking this game. So much so, that I will be unlocking the full game once I get some points.

Its been several months now, and this is still one of my favorite XBLA titles ever. I wasn't even the biggest fan of the original Galaga games, but this is just the perfect example of what I want in an arcade game.

The only thing I would've maybe wished for was a 2-player mode. Having a friend by your side would be insane.
