How to post technical questions

StonyArc 08-27-2008, 6:24 PM

Hello,

All to often people just post threads that just say "my 360 isn't working".  It's very hard for community members to see the context of the problem and have to ask for more details before being able to help you.

So when posting always try to explain the context. It's better to include too much information.

A few small examples.

  • You experience a network issue. Instead of posting just "hey I can't connect" make sure that you include a full description of your network setup including how you connect to Live, router, router type, modem, connection type (wired, wireless, ICS), firewall, ...
  • You have trouble playing certain media, make sure you include a description of what media, what method you use (usb, WM11, Media Center), zune, ...
  • You have a technical problem with your Console, include what you were doing at that moment on the console, how the console is connected, what have you done to remedy the issue, ...

Thank you
