Tips I'm giving for getting 100% game complettion for those having a hard time--

or newcomers who want to save on time and lack of sleep lol. here's how it goes as followed:

Not sure if this has been psoted before so if it has been then pay this no mind.  I can't help but stress to those picking up this game for the first time to make two game save files. the first time you play this game just play it to beat the main storyline and get a really good feel for the game, location wise, etc. Do Not, I repeat do not pick up any kittens, avoid them at all cost as well as the flyer missions and bizzaro missions.

Once you've beat the game make a new game save file on the same memory saving storage device but an empty slot. DO NOT, I REPEAT, DO NOT OVERRIGHT THE ORIGINAL GAME SAVE DATA.  After you beat Mongoul you'll be free to roam all of Metroplois. Don't go to the next story mission and avoid all fights at all cost unless its absolutly neccesary. pick up each kitten in order from 1-100. i know there is a couple of links on this site offering help but this link i found to be helpful not jsut for its pics but also for the where's that kitty thread:

http://xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=54345

http://xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=16744

Once you've got all kittens make sure you save and load up the orignal game data and do the fly race missions, complete all of them to unlock an achievement for completing all. upon completing all bizarro missions you'll unlock 3 achievements at once for 270 G. If you're not sure if this will work I can confirm that it does work as everything I stated aboce I did myself and received no problems what so ever.

Hope the info helps. Feel free to rate this and ask to get this sticked

Re: Tips I'm giving for getting 100% game complettion for those having a hard time--

seems that i missed the a very important point to make in my orignal posting which was the reason why two seperate save files is required is because a lot of people are only able to aquire 98 or 99 kittens and that is all on their first playthrough. many have spent hours, and hours, reading walkthroughs, etc and have visited all of the kitten locations only to come up short. 9/10 this is not the gamer's fault as its EA's fault because there is some type of glitch. many, many people have claimed this and the only remedy that can be drawn is is the suggestion that i made which is 100% accurate if done as i described. you'll still get all of the other achievements you're missing without any problems.

hope this new little bit of info helps newcommers

Re: Tips I'm giving for getting 100% game complettion for those having a hard time--
Ace,
So you're saying that you can obtain the Hero of Metropolis achievement by only having 100 Kittens on 1 saved game file and all the rest on the other?  Because I am here to tell you I tried this and it did not unlock for me.   In fact the Complete all mini games cheevo did not unlock either.  Your post as I read it implies to find all 100 cats on a 2nd save game file which is cool.  Then you say to reload your first saved game and complete the fast flyer and bizarro missions.  After I did all this,  the trophies unlocked  in fortress of solitude but I didnt get Hero of Metropolis.  I can see that the kitten trophy is still locked.  So logic dictates It wont unlock for me because I haven't found all the cats on that saved game file.

I just wanted to be clear on the meaning of your original post. Did you mean to say that once you found all 100 kittens and saved, to use that file from now on for everything else?

I already had the bizarrro achievment from a previous game as well as one for defeating the twister.  So not sure if that messed it up.

To be fair, I am willing to believe 2 saved game files combined could get you the achievement of Hero of Metropolis.  However, I am leaning towards it not being possible because it didnt work for me and it didn't work for some other people at Achieve360points.com

For the achievements tied to a trophy, A trophy always unlocked  when the achievement popped.  If I go to look at my trophies the Kitten Finder is still going to be just as locked.

So I have 2 saved games files, well 3 really but Im not counting that one.  I have one where I have beat the game, done all bizzarro missions, and fast flyer missions.  and I have one where I have found all 100 kittens.

I can either use the saved file with 100 cats which is ony at 15% completion or I can use the other save file and try to find the cats im missing to get the kitten trophy and unlock the last 2 achievments.

Both of which will be time consuming im sure.

Im sorry for the rant, but this game has been a source of frustration for me as it does have glitches.
So again, please tell us if we were reading your post correctly as I want to be absolutely fair to you and give you a chance to clarify if necessary.

Peace..

i think that you must be doing something wrong. when i originally began playing this game months back i started off on one memory file. i beat the game and then proceeded on the same memory file to find all kittens before doing the mini games, i came across a glitch which resulted in me not finding all the kittens.

i did a new save file and then i proceeded to find all the kittens on just that save file and found all 100 kittens. once i was done finding all kittens i saved and then reloaded the original save file i began with from the start and finished up the mini games and unlocked the respected achievements for them to unlock the achievement that you claim to be having problems with. not sure what you're doing but everything that i said is correct. and please note that i have 2 superman return saved files on my hard drive and that's how i was able to do this. the odds of completing and unlocking everything one one saved file is very, very slim because of the kitten glitch on the first playthrough that is why it is neccesary to have to game files saved onto the same memory device and approach it this way. otherwise you won't get the full 1000 for this game

i've had many friends on my buddy list thank me for these helpful tips as they were very helpful and i've had a few gamers that work at different game sites request to me if they could take this and post it on their sites and i gave the okay. not sure what sites they are on but this is 100% legit. i wouldn't have signed into the 1000/1000 club or posted this if my information was not correctBig Smile [:D]

Fair enough man.  I believe you.  Only I think your method working is contingent on doing it exactly as you did.  Since I had already unlocked one of the achievements and saved a few times before that.  I went to my 100% file last night and found 3 more kittens bringing me to a total of 96 on that file.  I will continue tonight to verify if there are any I missed. If I am unsuccessful, I will go and complete the game on the kittens saved file and then complete the mini-games.  I am just puzzled to how your method works.  It must be something in the cache maybe?  Would you agree if I already have 100 kittens on 1 save file, there is no reason why I should not be able to complete the game and the mini-games and get the last 2 achievements?  The only glitch was not being able to find the kittens which I already have.

not sure exactly you'e asking me and i'm not trying to sound redundant but when i posted this it was mainly to help out newcomers to this title but i'm going to try and explain this one more time from my own experience as well as what others have said/claimed:

while on one save file in making an attempt to find all 100 kittens many, many people have experienced a glitch and as a result are only able to find 98-99 kittens and they have used guide walktroughs, blown up screen shots, canvasing the locations for several hours but only to come up short. this is not the gamers fault, its the developer. i can say from experience that this is something that i came across as well. i heard a rumor floating around that all kittens could be obtainable if they were found on a sepearate saved file but on the same memory unit as i described  at the very beginning of this thread so i decided to test out the theory. keep in mind that on my original save file i had already beaten the game so when i started up the 2nd game file i played only up to the part that i described and then went after each kitten back to back to back and was able to find all 100 kittens without any problems. once i was done i reloaded my original game saved file ( my first one) and the only thing i had left to complete were the bizzaro and Mister Mxyzptlk missions to get the respected achievements and was done with this game.not sure whats going on with the cache that resulted in this but at the end of the day wrapping this game up is all that matters.

not sure how long you've been playing this game but like i said i mainly created this to help newcomers to this title so that they wouldnt come across the same problems as previous gamers have had with obtaining all achievements for this game. combine the kitten location guide that is available on this site ( which has been sticked i beleive ), or by doing a google search and have an extra set of hands to help you check off each kitten you find as well as mark off  the bizzaro and Mister Mxyzptlk missions ( in my case luckily i had my wife and our best friend taking turns with the checklist ) and there really, really should not be any problems. i should stress that i'm not encourging folks to delete their current save files and start from scratch. all i'm stating is how one can obtain all the achievements with the method i mentioned. if you have already beaten the game and feel you've found as many kittens as you can and you dont have another save file then i would suggest making a new save file and doing as i suggested in my previous posts and there shouldnt be any problems

now i'm about to start becoming very busy in the next few days because i'm putting the finishing touches on a comic i've been working on and i'm about to get deep into some games i've recently purchased so i'm not going to be replying in this thread in the near future so i hope that you're able to resolve this. i've tried to explain as best as i could and cannot ellaborate futher.

take care and most importantly happy gamming!Smile [:)]

Re: Tips I'm giving for getting 100% game complettion for those having a hard time--
Ace, I got it last night!!   I thought I was going to have to do a lot of stuff over again but thankfully I did not and I believe I made an important discovery.  I wanted to share it here so people understand what's going on.

First: You don't have to complete the achievements in any particular order and don't worry if you have already unlocked mini game achievements.  If you have game save files of this game that are on the same storage device, you can still get the achievements.

If you don't have the cats, Do like Ace said: start a new game on an empty slot and only collect the cats till you have all 100 and then save.

Now here is the important part:  For this to work, You have to load the other save file into memory without quitting your game.  Just hit start from your current game and choose save/load.  Then choose the game file you want to load. The screen will of course come up that says loading another file will cause you to lose your current progress.  Just say yes and continue to load the file. When the new file is loading it will load what's in that file to memory and combine it with what you already had in memory to unlock the achievements.  This is a big glitch, but technically this shouldn't happen.  I can only suspect the cache has something to do with this or the method of how the save file is loaded is flawed. That's to our advantage. :)

That's why I didn't get my achievements. I never loaded the other save file with the cat's on it.  I discovered this quite by accident  when playing the 100% file.  In my mind, I thought I  had to get the last 4 cats to complete the mini games on the 100% file.  I got tired of looking for cats and decided to load the other file.  This was the first time I think I loaded a game while still in a game instead from the start menu.
As soon as I loaded that file, the last 2 achievements popped.

I think it works like this:

Say You have game save1 that has 100% game storyline completion, Bizarro mini games done, and Fast Flyer games done.

On game save2, you have found all 100 kittens.

You turn on your xbox360 and load the 100% file.  When you load that file,  the system loads that saved game into current memory.   So in current memory, the system knows you have the Fast Flyer games completed, Bizarro  games completed, and the story level completed 100%.    All the computer really knows is you have 3 values that are set to true.

Now you pause the game and choose to load the other save file.  The system starts to load that file into memory.  It reads that you have the Kitten Award and adds that to what's currently in memory.  So you get the achievement for mini games complete because cats=true, bizarro-true ,  and fastflyer=true You also get Hero of Metropolis because 100% game=true and all mini-games completed=true.  This can all happen in a split second before the system overwrites the memory completely.  But in that split second, the system awards you the achievements because they are all there in memory at the current time if only for that split second.

Instead of wiping whats currently in memory and loading the save file fresh, the system keeps whats already in memory and overwrites it as it loads. The other possibility is that the cache contains certain game information which never gets wiped from memory until the xbox is turned off.   So each time a game is loaded, additional information is added to the cache file.

**************************************
Because of how this works, it may be possible to combine your current game saves by loading them one after the other to get the achievements.  You just have to load them like I described without quitting the game.

So If you have 1 game save where you did the fast flyer missions and then another game save where you did everything else,  load either one into memory and make sure you select metropolis to enter the game.
Then use the method I described to load the other save file and see if your achievments unlock.

We dont know the extent of the information kept in memory.  It may be possible to combine save files where you found the missing cat that you needed but are short 1 that you have on another save file.

Even if you have all the mini games done on seperate files. Try loading each one into memory and see if you can combine them with 3 files.  If that works, then I would lean more to the cache file theory.  If not, then it's just how the system loads the files.

So with those who had lost hope on this game and for those who got frustrated long ago and gave up, its time to give it another try. If you still have your old game saves, you can get these achievments.   Try it and let us know your results.   I urge anyone who wants to test the different possibilities of combining their save files to try it out and let us know what you find.    I unfortunately do not feel like testing this as I have spent enough time with this game.

Peace.

let's not confuse people dizzy. if all i missed was informing people to not quit sfter succesfully finding all kittens on one save file and then pausing the game and loading the old game safe file then let's just leave it at that. i'll work on a revised version and post it here including that later in the future seeing as how i started this thread but i don't think that'll be neccessary as lots of people i know were able2 get there achievements for thi game without any problems. to my knowledge you've been the only one experiencing problems but still i'll do a revised post once i have some free time to make sure that there isn't anymore confusion.

Re: Tips I'm giving for getting 100% game complettion for those having a hard time--

Hi folks I'm back ti revise tips for this guide. This was was mainly setup to help out newcomers of the game but if you are not a newcomer and you are trying to get the last few achievements you can find this guide from him to be very helpful.

Many people have experienced only being able to find only 96-99 kittens when they actually play this game and not get the full 100. This is because there is some type of a bug ( one which EA has not fixed/patched to this very day), which hurts getting the achievemnt for finding all kittens as well as the achievement for completing all of the mini game missions ( bizzaro and mister  Mxyzptlk mini games ), but there is a easy and safe method that will help you get all the kittens and get the achievement for it as well as the mini games achievemnts.

* if you already have one save file on your storage device ( memory card or hard drive ), start up a new seperate game file  on the ame storage device as the first game file and be sure not to delete/overwrite the old one. play the game as normal but do not look for any kittens, not not you finish the storyline where you beat mongul. after you beat mongul you'll be free to roam all of metropolis. this is when you want to search for each kitten, one by one and in order from 1-100 and avoid saving/protecting metropolis at all cost ( during the coarse of the game you'll see little red-cirular icons scattered throughout metropolis. this just basically mean superman's help is needed. you want to stay far away from these as much as possible and avoid them at all cost unless you have no other choice ). finding all the kittens will take a little time but if you've already played the game before you'll be done a lot sooner. this will roughly take about one hour an hour and a half so get some good music together while you search for the kittens. a great source for kitten locations is the following:

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=54345

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=16744

once you're done finding all 100 kittens, safely save the game data and be sure that after you are done saving that you save it to the same storage device that your original save for the game is on ( the first game file you created. if you're a newcomer you could just create two game save files on the same device off the break and use the 2nd one for finding the kittens ). once you're done saving you should see the option for load, please load the first game file you created. this is very important because if you just quit the game ( the one where you found all the kittens ), you won't get the achievement called the hero of metropolis achievement ( you get this achievement for successfuly completing finding all the kittens, doing the bizzaro and mister  mxyzptlk missions ). the hero of metrpolis achievement is obtainable in this method because there is a glitch of sorts maybe in the cache/storage device, not sure but at least getting this difficult achievement is obtainableSmile [:)]

after you've safely loaded your data go ahead and do all of the bizarro missions and the mister  mxyzptlk missions ( some of you may be saying "hey when i loaded the first game save file and i went into trophies i don't have the trophy for finding all the kittens! what happend?" just relax and take it easy as there's nothing to worry about and just continue on to doing the bizarro/mister  mxyzptlk missions ( newcomers after you've found all the kittens on one save file and you've safely loaded you're first/original game file play the game/story mode as you normally would and feel free to go for the bizarro/mister  mxyzptlk missions at anytime). a great link to help you find all the bizarro/ mr. mxyzptlk missions is the following:

http://www.xbox360achievements.org/forum/showthread.php?t=13952

when its all said and done once you complete the bizarro/mister  mxyzptlk achievements you should trigger the following achievements:

Super Sonic

20

Finished All Fast Flyer Mini-Games

You Am Bizarro! 20

Complete The Bizarro Mini-Game

Mr. What's-his-name 50

Complete All Mini-Games

Hero of Metropolis 200
Complete All Metro Events And Mini-Games

To get this you have to:

*complete all 5 Bizarro Mini Games (see "You Am Bizarro" above ^^^)
*complete all 9 Fast Flyer races (see "Super Sonic" above ^^^)
*find all 100 Kittens (this we've already discussed and you should have the achievement from doing the suggested above)

*and complete the entire story mode

well that's it folks. hopefully this helped clear some things up.  I'm going to be able to reply in this thread for quite some time but if you still need help on this matter after reading the this helpful guide please ask fellow peers on this site for help. a good place to start is in the 1000/1000 club and another place place to find help is at the site i refrenced in regards to the kitten, bizarro locations,et'c as the folks there are very helpful as well.

okay folks that's it.hope this revised guide on tips to get 100% game completion/last remaining achivements were helpful. thanks and take care

Can the cats be saved on that second file at different intervals or does it have to be done all at once.  For example, Night 1, I find 70 cats save the game.  The next day, find 30 cats for all 100, then load my original game. Will I still get the Hero of Metropolis Achievement? Or do I have to find all the cats in one go then load my original game??

What happens if i have already beaten the other mini games on my 1st save file.

If i start a new save & look for the 100 kittens, will i get the last 2 achievements as well (Hero of Metropolis & Mr. Whats his name?) or will i have to beat the other mini games again on that 2nd save file?
