Re: To select Ref - AKA Koroko

That seriously needs to be patched. I can't believe they waited a year to release the game and left in Kuroko, the cheapest character ever. The game needs to be the MVS version. Kuroko was never meant for competitive play, which is why it goes straight to "Game Over" after one fight, when you choose him in the home version.

This is a glaring error that's going to make the leaderboards and roster useless, because everyone but experts are going to be riding Kuroko.

I'm happy to see Kuroko playable. I'd wish he was either disabled in Ranked, or you had an option to turn him off when you make a room, but otherwise... it's much more fun to have him playable, than to have him banned from online, as Ryo was, in Fatal Fury Special.

Besides, you can talk to your opponent on live, we CAN just come to agreements on whether you allow him in your fights or not.

LoL, I thought your name looked familiar just a bit ago... XD

If I knew you posted here, I woulda opted for a Kuroko VS Kuroko match!!

I've only seen 3 Kurokos tonight... one I played against as Kuroko, and won... I don't remember if I won or lost the other two, but even if they where losses, I didn't feel exploited and overpowered... not anymore than when fighting a good Ukyo or Cham Cham, anywho.

Hopefully, the really good Kuroko players will use him only when having "fun". I'd imagine has lockdown game would be amazing when played right.

I can understand your point but tbh, Theres 3 characters that can put Koroko away 1 of them does it with pure ease the other 2 have to be (Skilled wise) so its not like he is unbeatable.

If u know the game well enough u should know yourself deep down he is not a total threat compared to others.

Yeah, same here. After I kick their asses with Kuroko myself. Which is exactly what I did to XQEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE, whose record consists entirely of blindsiding noobs with Kuroko.

Mine may be lower but at least I got it legit.

Bill, like you would need to use him to kick anyones ***.  If I had a neogeo I would be playing this game every fuggin day...but the last time I played it was like 5 years ago on my modded PS1.  I have a disk that has SS1 and SS2 on it, totally awesome, japanese version (released in Japan only).  Then I got SS 4 for Xbox a few weeks ago but the original xbox controller is junk.

Bill is a monster..when I get the joystick it's back to ranked matches and if anyone pulls that kokuro crap on me I'm going to be livid.

Nah, I'm not that great. I lose all the time....I just win more. It's funny. My Trueskill rank is totally in the crapper because I'll play anybody, so sometimes I'll lose a match to somebody I've played 2 or 3 times in a row, or somebody who's good but just started playing on XBLA....and my rank goes *durrrrrrrrr*. I dropped from 32nd to like 84th last night, then went back up to like 60th.

Funny thing about "Trueskill", almost none of the high ranked guys will fight me. I join their room and they just leave. These are people I've never fought before. Rank shouldn't be something you can just grab and walk away with.

I'm not saying I'm that great, but crap, give a guy a chance. I get kicked out of mad rooms, yo! ;)

Oh and Koroko is cheap, I always leave the game if someone picks him.

The true skill rank is serious business i hit 97-0 and lost on 98th match and went from rank 1 to 4 instantly i was like wow Trueskill i think was 35 then straight back to 30

Dude i've never dropped or kicked anyone out a few have booted and kicked me quicktime i have like 20 spaces open on my friends list for a decent type of 10  people 5 mid and 5 who wanna learn or just hang around in player match room which is what i do anyway, in player match once its filled thats all i will play with in quiet lobbys just for pure fun from that point onwards, cos on FFS my list is huge pure SNK

I was round my friends house watching a match between them, The dude did nothing special but dash out an arry of fireballs, But thats cos my friend has 0% knowledge about Koroko & yeah he did get blindsided in th 1st rd, But when i told him how to win in rd2 & 3 that dude got rattled and quit the match when he was losing badly

But even now u know he has the most wins online but thats only due to using Koroko only and nothing else. And most Experts & Average midtier players are gonna only know him for that reason since he has beaten 500+ in the same fashion most will avoid him and he will end up with nobody to play with in the long run.

But yeah billyk feel free to send a request if u wanna play in player match sometime lag no issue cos i know your from usa so its understandable so its just for fun ok takecare.

Of course. I've never bumped into you actually, so obviously I didn't mean you. Kaede 2, and Rimuwaru come to mind. There are others, of course.

Yep. The cheese stands alone.

I just kept doing the Kyokugenryu fireball to him, and SDM'd him when he got close. Some dude named DJ J0HNSON tried to do it to me too (poorly, he didn't seem like he was trying... so maybe he was just testing out the code) and I messed him up with the Tung Fu Rue move.

For the record, I don't really mind lower-ranked people booting me. LEPERO503 does it to me all the time, and I'm fine with that. I just join whoever's available, and if they boot me, they boot me.

It's just not a indicator of "true skill" if you get to keep your rank simply by avoiding people who may be more skilled.

Strange, I cant seem to get this to work. up,down, left,up,down, right+A. Is that "A" button on the controller or "A" as in light slash. I tried both without results.  I even tried assigning light slash to "A" button. Is there some kind of timing to this?

Ok, I see what you're saying now. So now that you're ranked #1 you're only going to play Player matches.

I think it's gonna take me a long time to rank up if all the highest ranked players suddenly decide that it's not in their best interests to play ranked matches anymore. I guess it just goes to show how pointless ranking is in this game.

Anyway, thanks for joining me last night so I could contribute your 2nd loss. :p

When I won the first round, I was like "Oh yeah, now he's gonna turn it on!". When I got a perfect on you the 2nd round, I was like "Wait, what?". Good times.

I'm up to about 150 losses now, but then again, I've played about 600 ranked matches to your 150, so I guess that's not a bad ratio.

It was too bad you didn't have a mic. With your preference for Player matches and playing with friends, I figured you'd have one.

It's done on the character select screen, starting on Haohmaru. No timing. Can be done super slow. You don't even have to hit a button. When the timer runs out, there he is.

It can only be done in VS.

Player match is suited more cos theres no hassles and u can openly and freely use other characters to play nothing on the line and its harmless. if u wanna play ex amount of people using Koroko then thats your option but mine i have no interest in bs like that win or lose its overkill now on ranked with people using him but there all rubbish anyway.

 Billkwando wrote:

I never said to anyone i was interested in ranking in the 1st place, i stated that i wanted to see how well i play against over 100+ once i got certain array of people to card then i am staying to player match same as what i do on everygame, Dude people don't see me on FFS Sf2HF or Forza2 simply cos once a room is filled with friends and Co going and it stays like that for hrs.

TBH i don't even like playing with the public with the attitude u get from people why should certain people give up there time Playing/Helping only for others to try make them look bad in the long run.

but also if your saying ranked is pointless why u playing on it for?

U have confused me now thats like saying your ranked 100 but u blame all 99 above you with ex amount of reasons and most don't even read the forums also.

U cant sit there and say things like that about all top types of players if they play u or not some move on to other games some don't, I offered to play you i lost that's it time to move on but don't try making players look bad cos u won a game that's a bit offkey.

 Billkwando wrote:

People are only known for who has the most ranked wins not the best % so that QUeeeeeex whatever person has sort of has the most wins by really not doing anything at all but he will stand out most,

Cos people will think he is the standard person to play or the most consistant when hes not

If it was like FFS do u think honestly he would be up there in the same brackets clearly not.

Why so serious?

You rambled a bit so I'll just reply to the parts that are actually relevant to the topic.

I like Player match as much as anyone, but the Kuroko thing is a BS excuse. Only ONE guy does that, and he only plays noobs, so you'd never see him anyway. Not that you'd know, because you don't play ranked.

 Jericho MPM TFS wrote:

If you don't care about rank, then why play ranked at all? You do realize how absurd that sounds, don't you?

 Jericho MPM TFS wrote:

Well.......I didn't realize that the top 10 or 15 guys are NEVER online, for whatever the reason, and that the ones that are refuse challenges. I know that now, hence my comment.

However, if I quit playing ranked, that would make me no better that the rest of the guys who take the rank and run. As it is, I'm a target for everybody...because I'm one of the few decently ranked players who's actually online, and will play anyone.

It's like the people who play Oddball in Halo and use glitches to hide with the ball. They don't succeed because they're skilled. They succeed because you can't physically reach them to fight them. Same thing here.

 Jericho MPM TFS wrote:

Do what?

Move on after a week?? The game came out last Wednesday. I only sleep about four hours on the weekend and I'm on this game all different times of day. What am I supposed to think?

 Jericho MPM TFS wrote:

Well, it may seem so to you, but it was your choice to only play one match. I didn't go anywhere. I was still hosting and keeping my room open in case you wanted a rematch.

Plus, you inviting me to a player match, and then initially declining my ranked challenge, then leaving after one match......

You do realize how that looks, don't you?

Here I am...a guy who's lost to people just playing their first match online, a guy who's lost to QQC, mengato, Gun Ro Xen, magicdsunga, XQUEEEEEE, DSVekettos, ikadevilsan....and a bunch of other dudes.

Somehow, I bust out and beat the #1 guy, decisively, both rounds, with a perfect the 2nd round? (we all have a bad match from time to time, but jeez, I'd think you would've owned me)

Forgive me if that doesn't give me a somewhat dim view of your unwillingness to fight. I'd love for you to kick my ***, ranked of course.

Any time. :)

Maybe u don't understand english terms of (move on)

(Move on). informal, To get started; Get going; hurry up; moving to do something else; in process of moving about aka doing other stuff; Changing.

U only sleep 4 hrs on the weekend Then your too serious

I'll make sure u get my drift.

(Bum) Tramp; Layabout; An incompetent person;  One who is devoted to a specified activity. Cadging

So your devoted to be like a crow and sit on your branch for 68hrs of the weekend hunting people on ranked that sounds messed up.

Don't hurt your eyes yeah.

Oh no, you misunderstood. I don't sit on the game for 68 hours. That would be nutty.

I do only sleep about 4 hours a night on the weekend (it has nothing to do w/ the game), but I'm on the game at various times of the day and night. Not the entire time. :)

My point is that it's not a timezone thing. I'm on the game during the day, and at night, so I should see some of those high ranked guys.....SOMETIME.....unless they're never online. That's my actual point.

I've been known to play SS2 for 6 hours at a time on 2DF, and do rematches with the same player for 2 hours at a time. Maybe that makes me too hardcore, but I can live with that.

This is pretty much my favorite game. I waited a year for it to come out. Sue me. Wink [;)]

I played the Guy above and i lost like 5-6 times in ranked in a earlystage i was double perfected he didn't come on the forum and brag saying he double perfected me. He gave me pointers and helped me in a player match room for the last 2 days. Thats more then anyone else here has done.

I said 6 hours on 2DF. For the record, I help people too. I just do it in ranked. I can't tell you how many people I've had to explain the Tenhafujinzan to. If somebody uses a mic, I will help them. They ask me a question, I answer. They ask me to stop so they can try a move, I do. You guys act like you can only do that in Player matches. Not so.

The only way you learn is by playing better people. I don't seek out noobs, and there aren't that many true noobs on this game, just people who've forgotten a few things and need to be reminded. Obviously, I go for the highest ranked people I can find, not the lowest. I would think that would be obvious by now.

Also, I wasn't bragging, I was recounting. It's the response that I received that caused this conversation to take a turn toward the negative. If I was trying to brag, I wouldn't go around listing all the people who've beaten me.

Re: To select Ref - AKA Koroko
Oh, add Hyper Neuron (Neron?) to the list of Kuroko spammers. One of those guys that moves the cursor around so it looks like he's deciding which character to pick, then puts in the code.
