A Leaderboard of One
Great job to the guy who is all by himself on the Level 4 - Hard - Dot Eater leaderboard.  It took a long time for someone to pull it off.

Hope to see the Final Stage done on hard soon.

Its a lil thing called slow motion  i know for a fact the lumines live leader board  has a couple of people who just press start rapidly.

How is my post childish? pressing start very fast or using a modded controler is a way to play the game
anybody could beat level 5 if they just press start look at the screen move to a safe spot then press start again I am serois it really works if you try it xD

I know some of the people on the dot eater leader board just pressed start rapidly. Its not a big deal.

Do you really know, or are you under the suspicion they do?  I couldnt imagine anyone in their right mind pressing the pause button for 5 minutes straight on a level - let alone 20+ minutes straight.  I'm unaware of any third-party controllers that have a turbo pause button and i would imagine only a handful of mod loversn would have modded a controller for such a feature.  I havent played Ikaruga in awhile but i also recall the pause button brings up the black bordered menu that covers 30% of the screen from the middle out.  No, its not a big deal, but i couldnt imagine anyone with a decent score doing that but I could imagine people who have crappy scores or going for the achievement, may.

I really know Ive asked some people on the lumines live leaderboard and its blantant some people do it on the dot eater leadrboard in ikaruga. You can see right thru the puase screen and if you fiddle around with the options the trasparent srceen will flash gone for a bit.

There are modded controllers out there. I know of a couple of people who mod them with a special button on the bottom left or right and the button is programable by simpley holding down the botton you want to turbp and pressing the turbo button causing a turbo for that specific button.

But hey try it. Play level 5 on hard and go for dot eater and play for around 20 mins using the expliot It works.

I'll pass.  Unless this was 1988 with the phatty nes arcade turbo pad, with the slowmo toggle switch where mega man uses electricity on the one eyed golem/cyclops and by pressing the slowmo does immense damage.

Id rather play dot eater straight-up...ikaruga is already an involved game. No need to ruin it or take away the fun.  :)
