One thing that's always upset me is I can't re-download the E3 2006 gamer pictures.

They were a limited time, exclusive download back in May 2006 back when the Xbox 360 had only been out for 6 months and was almost impossible to buy in stores. I had my 360 on day 1 when it launched.

I really like to collect Gamer Pictures and Themes on my 360 as I've downloaded every free picture pack and theme ever offered on the marketplace as well as purchased a lot, too.

The only picture pack I'm aware of that I can't ever get back is the E3 2006 pictures. What happened is, like 99% of Xbox 360 owners who had a 1st generation console, I had the 3 red lights in late 2006 which made me have to replace my 360 with a new one.

You can go into account management and download history and re-download exclusive pictures and themes. Even ones no longer offered on the marketplace. But not the E3 2006 pics! Why not!?!?

This has always bothered and upset me. It's not a huge deal, no. But what's the deal? Why can't I re-download them? My download history goes back to day 1 the 360 came out when the first things I downloaded were the IPOD support, Smash TV arcade demo, and the Guantlet arcade demo. But the E3 2006 gamer pictures from "Bringing It Home" are non-existant there.

I don't visit the Xbox forums as much as I used to so if anyone has a comment about this post you can send it in a XBL message form to my GamerTag.

I was just bored tonight and decided to vent about this issue that's always bothered me.

I'm in the same boat. I had those awesome BSG gamer pics and a ton of other E3/Bringing it Home 2006 downloads that aren't there anymore. I accidentally changed my gamer pic and lost the only one i ever used/liked. Right now i'm surfing the forums looking for a thread that i read a while back showing you how to redownload them, but that might have been a tutorial for the "purchase history" aspect of live.

Yes, my 360 died as well and when I went to go thru my download history there were several "No Longer Available" or similar message with them.  What is the point of a download history if it's going to not allow me to download my complete history?

Maybe it's a glitch that they don't know about?  Or maybe just another reminder that you don't own the content that is on your 360 you are simply renting it until your system dies.

I dunno why some things straight up disappear. I have no idea if it's that way with anything else, like the Bungie Day gamerpics but I'm guessing that "limited time" really does have meaning here. If they left them available to re-download then they wouldn't exactly be making them "limited".

how about one of you ring up microsoft and find out why there not on the marketplace instead of whining
