Problems downloading the new DLC levels on the Xbox 360
So after selecting the option to download new levels from the main menu I then select my gamertag.  The next screen I am taken to say the following:

"A required update is available for the Xbox Live service.  Press A to update or B to cancel.  You cannot connect to Xbox Live until the update is installed."

Once I hit "A" to update it takes me to another screen that says:

"Unable to continue due to technical difficulties.  Please try again later."

Has anyone who attempted to download the new levels USING THE XBOX 360 have this same problem?  Is there a workaround for this issue?  I really would like to play these DLC levels, such a shame.  Also, I have tried this for the last week straight so I am pretty sure it was not just a temporary problem.

I'm not seeing this problem.  Is it still happening?

Re: Problems downloading the new DLC levels on the Xbox 360
I know your post is pretty old at this point, but I just got into the "Splinter Cell" games recently, so...

Are you still having a problem downloading the levels?  I downloaded all 3 the other day after I bought the game and didn't have any problems what-so-ever.  So I can at least verify for you that the content is still available as of June 2009.

Also, just wanna say how much I LOVE THE "SPLINTER CELL" GAMES!!!  What an amazing series!  Not so much on the first one, but "Pandora Tomorrow" and "Chaos Theory" (and I'm sure "Double Agent" as well) are those rare gems that you'd never know by looking at them that they were original Xbox games and not Xbox 360 games.  Not only that, but I got "Splinter Cell" (Xbox), "Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory" (Xbox), and "Splinter Cell: Double Agent" (Xbox360) used and all 3 for under $25!  You can't beat that.

I have exactly the same problem, Boy Baked, and I'm in the UK : (. Very annoying.

The most hilarious thing is that I actually bought the Platinum edition that comes with the extra maps. When I took the box to the counter the guy said they only had the game disc and I thought it didn't matter as I'd just download the extras when I got home. Haha!

I suppose we'll just have to rebuy the Plat edition if we want the maps? I wonder if they're actually any good? It's a great game though, I'm enjoying it a lot. Great value for 50p!

Experiencing the same problem.  I was able to DL the Splinter Cell levels once on one of my 360s, but when I tried on my others at other times it still will not let me.  I wish Xbox tech could respond to the issue.

I have been having this problem, as well. I've tried everything I can think of to rectify it, but no matter what I do, whenever I try to download the levels, the game prompts me for the update, I attempt it, and it pops up with the error message "Xbox Live is not responding. Please try again later." It's very infuriating.
