I got the disc version of this from a friend the other day, but I cant play it on my 360.  I put it in and it says there is an update that I can download, but it signs me out of Live and when I click install update now, it says im not connected to the internet.  What do I do?

Mine worked by

 
- going to NXE dash
- sign in regular account
- put in G:SS disk
- update when requested
- play game
