7 days is a little long, but don't forget they're always a day behind when there's a holiday.... maybe try contacting Puro today or tomorrow by phone to see if they have more accurate or up to date info on your box.

Don't feel too badly though, I waited close to a month to get my coffin before I finally called (wasn't too much in a hurry, we had a spare hanging around from a previous repair) asking if they forgot about me, to which the cheeky CSA agent said "yes aparently we did" lol. 3 days later, coffin arrived, less than two weeks after that, new console.

Good luck!

Re: Canadian Repair Centre Praise !!!

from my experience, i wouldnt say "praise"

i've probably called Xbox Customer Support about 50 times since i've had my Xbox

and not everytime, my problems were dealt with

i've had multiple scr*w ups on MS side

and A LOT of useless people trying to help me,

so usually i just ask right away if i can speak w/ a supervisor

because then things are ususally dealt with properly

Well, the two times I've had the red lights of doom, the repair process was very well organized and quick. The first time, I got my console back in a whopping 4 days. The second time I got my console back in two weeks - which is a substantially longer wait, but still quick when compared to some other people.
I may take 48 hours to respond to questions because I'm swamped with University-related work.

I sended my son's console Oct. 7, the tracking number showed that MS received it on the 9, but they only send me an e-mail on Oct. 14 telling me they had just received it on the 14. So, you see right there a nice little lie. I'm still waiting for some other news (like they repaired it and it is ready to ship)

Anyway, MS can say whatever they want, they have the bigger end of the stick and we have to believe every lie they tell us because what else can we do except call them and give them ****. They just hang up after we are done with them and it's time for the next call and the process goes on again and again . If I haven't receive any news on the 23 (Thursday) I will be calling them just to see what they have to tell me. It will then be 2 weeks since they've received it.

Re: Canadian Repair Centre Praise !!!

It could take a while to get your console back, so don't worry too much if it's a few weeks. When I sent mine in, it left my area on the 19th of September, got to it's destination on the 22nd (weekends they aparently don't do much) and I received it back on the 7th of October. During that time there was little information on my console's status on either website for Puro or xbox... I figured they didn't update the info often and didn't concern myself too terribly much about it.

If it goes beyond 30 business days, I'd probably call support and ask what was going on.... but two to three weeks is perfectly reasonable amount of time for delivery/repairs/shipping.

Edited to add: Support number for xbox is 1-800-4my-xbox and make sure you have your reference number they gave you when you called in for repairs, as well as the Puro pin# from the shipping label. That will help them immensely if you need to call them after a reasonable amout of time if you haven't received your xbox back.

Re: Canadian Repair Centre Praise !!!
I'll begin with the end of the story - rec'd my Xbox back on Thursday. Began the process in September - took over 40 days, 8 hours of support calls, convincing MS they had signed for my XBOX, a couple of helpful CSR's, some stress, a good sense of humour. In the end the Box came back - got 2 months free XBox Live and the promise of a new controller to be shipped to me. If at first you don't get the answer you want, document, be patient, and keep calling. Good luck. I'm going to hang on to the box just in case

Re: Canadian Repair Centre Praise !!!

Wow. I was wrong about Microsoft. Today, I received my son's Xbox. Brand spanking new too!! Manufactured date....August 31, 2008. And we live in New Brunswick so it is not very close to Toronto. This can't be a refurbished and it isn't as this is very easy to spot if it was one.

In all, it took 13 days from the day it was shipped. Better still.....only 9 working days. Shipped Octover 7, received today. Brand new console. I couldn't be happier and my son also.

Now, if my console ever fail, I just wish I will get the same treatment from MS.

I wish you the best of luck. I find that 11 days is to long even if you are from B.C.

Re: Canadian Repair Centre Praise !!!

I would have to say I am quite pleased with their repair service.  My 360 RROD in September and I called the hotline on September 24.  The call did not take long and I was able to understand the service rep.  They sent me the coffin to ship my dead 360 in with Purolator service.  The box came about a week later on October 1.   I shipped my RROD console on October 2 and using the tracking service on the Purolator website it got there on October 7.  I checked my status on the Xbox.com site and they changed my serial number to the new one sometime during the week of October 12.  My new console was delivered to me today, October 21.  Overall it took about 3-4 weeks, which isn't bad at all compared to hearing lengths of more than a month.

Anyways, the new console I received is the new Opus board (Falcon chipset/mobo without HDMI).  I checked this using the flashlight visual inspections from several sources on the net (inductor placement, heat sinks).  The power socket is also pegless to allow the 175W power supply to be plugged in.  Also, on the shipping box, it has a sticker on it with your serial number and other numbers.  On the bottom right corner of the sticker it says "OPS-P", for Opus Pro.    It has a manufacturing date of August 30, 2008, though I think the case is older as it should be a recycled launch/Xenon case.  It has protective stickers over the disc tray and IR receiver.

I am hoping that my replcement console is much more reliable than my old one (my RROD console was manufuactured in early 2006, which I am quite surprised it lasted this long).  Hopefully others will experience similar, if not, even better service and good luck in receiving a Opus or Falcon replacement!

Re: Canadian Repair Centre Praise !!!
My 360 RROD today, called up 360 support ASAP so I could get the repair process started. Apparently they don't provide a coffin anymore, the CSR told me I have to provide my own box, when I told him that a lot of people used to receive boxes directly from you guys, he said they only do that in "some" cases, whatever that means.

After he verified all my information, he was gonna set me up with a shipping label sent to my email, but apparently their system was down for maintenance and he told me to call back in 24-48 hours so he can process the repair request...

Yea, thanks for the tip, called just now and got my repair request issued. Still didn't get a coffin but they are emailing me shipping labels. I don't think I want to spend the extra time waiting for a coffin tbh, want to get my 360 out the door tomorrow so I can maybe have it back before GoW2 comes out.

We attempted to get repair request by phone on Oct 20th and Oct 22, both times their system would crash and not allow them to provide a service request number, "they should use a MAC" microsoft system down.

I was not able to do it online, or by phone. This is poor customer service.....

Sent on Sept 24
UPS say delivered on 28th, MS says received Oct 3, nice bit of BS there.

Is now Oct 24th and STILL no return.

Talk to MS 6 times and they are IDIOTS!

SO FRUSTRATING!!!!!
