I want Raiden first. It's bs, Raiden Fighters is currently out in Japan. I saw videos for it on gametrailers and news in other places. I always assumed it would be released in NA. I don't want to have to buy a NTSC-J xbox 360 just to play the game.
But I hope the game you are mentioning comes out as well. There are so many 360 games that are released in Japan but no where else, it's not fair.
Raiden IV darn well better make it over also.
Well it's a bit expensive for me to buy another 360 especially with the added cost of importing it.
I think I will wait it out for now and hope that they decide to grace North America with the presence of these shmups. But if that retail disc with DoDonPachi and Ketsui doesn't get released here, then that will be the last straw. Also if I don't get at least one Raiden game (either Raiden Fighters or Raiden IV) then that will be another last straw. The game publishers will have left me no choice at that point except to import a Japanese 360.
And while I'm dreaming of shmups that can actually escape Japan, where for art thou Radiant Silvergun?
But now it probably sounds like I want too much. I am really very grateful that Ikaruga materialized on XBLA. I guess I just feel a little jipped when I know there are games across the pond that for whatever reason just aren't quite making the journey over here.
Sorry for going off on a tangent. I have never played Otomedius before, but I watched the videos you linked to. I must say that it looks very amazing indeed. I certainly hope that comes here and I can play it.
More horizontal-scrolling shmups would be perfect, considering I have a 16:9 widescreen TV, so of course horizontal works the best. Omega Five is certainly the best example of a horizontal shmup done right on XBLA.

Release date hasn't been set yet. Looks like it's going to include some new content (at least one new character). Support for up to 3 players online (in VS mode). It also seems that the MSRP was "unofficially" leaked. If true, price is going to be ~$65, which means a (region-locked) retail release is 99% likely. One of the nice things about the game is that most of the characters' ships are modeled after the main ships from other Konami shmups (Gradius, Salamander, Twinbee, Xexex), and also has other Konami references scattered throughout.
I saw it recently and I didn´t thought it would be on Xbox360.
I will buy it... If it is for XBLA or it gets released over here. If Microsoft is again behind this not being an Arcade game, I will probably begin to hate their decisions. What will be next? No 2D platforms on XBLA? Come on!

Yeah, like Lost Cities, a couple of images, little programming, and voilá! there you have a 800 points arcade game.
And then they don´t let to port an amazing shmup??? It´s really stupid from my point of view. I don´t think Lost Cities has sold more than Triggerheart Exelica, for example.
Don't knock Lost Cities, that's an awesome game. It probably will sell a lot more than Triggerheart Exelica quite honestly.
But yea I'd rather they just allow basically any game onto the service. I don't care if XBLA balloons to 2000 games and 1500 of those are ports/remakes. Just make a good way to sort them by download rank or metacritic score or user review score, and I'll be happy. And while I'm at it, allow full games for purchase and download besides Xbox Originals or as an expansion to an existing game.
Speak of the devil check out the arcade sellers for last week:

Lost Cities even beat out Ikaruga for the top spot. I don't remember Triggerheart selling the most even with no heavy competition and it dropped off the charts almost immediately. No offense to the game, but thinking that it sells well is quite misjudged.
Yeah, in its launch week, while Ikaruga came two weeks before Even Mr Driller Online was 1st its launch week, and it´s a broken game.
You can like Lost Cities, but you can´t deny that the port is preety week. I´m sure any other game in XBLA has more programming and more work on graphics that it. It´s the first time I see an Arcade game truly overpriced. It´s just a bunch of artworks and too simple programming for 800 points. I couldn´t believe it when I tried it. How many weeks did it cost to do? Every other card game on XBLA is better in every way, or at least they have much more work in it that this one.
Like I said...

Ikaruga´s in 4th spot, Lost Cities has dropped from the list. If only we could see how many people got Triggerheart Exelica... Stupid 100 only leaderboards
