1. One Small Bite for Mousekind - 10 G Clear any stage with a rank of A or better.
This is pretty much the giveaway achievement. All you need to do is get at least one A ranking on ANY level out of 32 levels. It is fairly easy on Level 1 but I think it is easiest on Level 2. A general tip on getting high scores and thus high rankings is usually to build a big bite chain. This means that you always have at least one item of food behind you while you are eating the next one. For instance, if you have a trail of food behind you, this is all part of your bite chain and can keep it going by eating more food in front of you. However, be warned that if you hit a wall at a fast speed, you will lose all of the food that was trailing behind you and thus break your bite chain. Holding the A button makes you run and you will definitely need to use this if you want A or S ranks. However, slow down at a corner by pressing the opposite way you ran. For instance, always hold down the A button but when running right and approaching a wall, press left a little before you get to it to slow down so you safely can turn the corner.
2. Gastronomy Graduate - 20 G Complete the single player campaign.
It is pretty easy to beat the game and get this achievement since you can get any rank on the levels. Simply complete the levels with at least an E rank or higher to move on to the next stage. Also if you are not worried about your rank, you can easily blaze through the campaign in roughly an hour.
3. Ultimate Gastronomist - 25 G Clear all stages with S rank.
The hardest achievement in the game but with enough practice and patience to retry some levels over and over, you may be able to earn this. First of all, you usually want to go for long bite chains/quickest times. Another general tip is to usually take the long straightaways with food. Turning corners is slower since it doesn't allow you to run. The objectives in the levels vary a bit but if you are fast and collect enough food in one chain, you will probably get an S rank. I will now list some strategies for specific levels...
- On some levels you just need to get a big chain of food to get an S rank. If you hit a wall with a lot of food trailing behind, you should usually restart the level because you will lose a bunch of potential points. Remember, big chains = bigger score = better rank.
- For the levels where you start off with the drink (which allows you to collect food and people without the drink cannot), everyone will be chasing you. If you get tagged, you will lose your drink and have to recollect it but I recommend just retrying if this happens. You will waste a lot of time trying to get it back. Just restart it and try to survive the whole time collecting a lot of food. You should manage an S rank.
- For levels where the other enemies have drinks, obviously take the quickest path to them and tag them to take their drink. Use the same strategy as listed in the above tip.
- On some levels, you won't be collecting any food at all. Instead, you must hit enemies with your boomerang or other items to steal points from them. Keep in mind, you cant steal less than 100 points at any given time but a good strategy for high scores/ranks on these levels is to wait until they have about 400 or 500 points and quickly hit them with a few boomerangs while they are stunned. You will gain 100 points for every hit. You may also earn the boomerang achievement like this but more on that later.
- On the final level (level 32), if you want an S rank, you must quickly yet carefully navigate a maze with 4 enemies guarding 4 treasure chests (all of which you must collect). The order you collect them in doesn't matter but I will try to explain what I did for the S rank. First go left to the first treasure chest you see. The guy may follow you down but use your boots item with the X button to speed up and hopefully stop him from following. If he doesn't stop following, its still possible but harder. Next go to the second treasure chest through the middle opening and head downwards again. After that if I went to the bottom right chest and finally up to the one on top (if I remember correctly). Then head back all the way to the top left where the first treasure chest was to beat the level. There may be a better/quicker route for this but with it, I managed an S rank with 51 seconds remaining. I am pretty sure the cutoff rank for this level is 50 or more seconds remaining for an S rank.
4. Gourmet Duo - 15 G Win a match in Xbox LIVE Team match.
You will need 4 players for this and teams must be even (2 vs 2). Choose player match battle mode and just try for big chains of food. Use items to mess up your opponents chains and take the lead. It's an easy achievement since you only need to win one team match and even easier / quicker if you boost it with some friends.
5. Chomp Champion - 15 G Take a total of 10000 Bites in the single player campaign.
This may take awhile but it's really not as tedious as it sounds. After I got my achievement for all S ranks, I only played about another hour to get the 10k bites achievement. To do this quickly, keep doing level 2 over and over since its quick and you can't lose your chains since there are no items yet. You can get about 63 bites in 40 seconds on this level (and an S rank might I add). Just press retry when you complete the level and repeat until the achievement pops. Keep in mind though, its not bites overall so don't waste your time taking bites in multiplayer!
6. Crikey! - 20 G Use boomerangs to make a 3-combo-hit on your rival in single player campaign.
Do this on level 3. The easiest way to do this is to let the enemy pick up a bunch of food. In fact, wait until about 20 seconds are left on the clock so the enemy has a huge chain of food. This will actually give you MORE time to hit him three times since he won't move again until his huge food chain ends. Basically, have one boomerang in hand and stand right next to another boomerang item but don't pick it up yet. When you think he has a long enough chain, hit him once. While he is losing his food, move to the item next to you and hit him again quickly with that boomerang. Now as quick as you can, run over to the other item box to get the last boomerang and hit him before he moves again. If you do this, you will get the achievement.
7. Chubby Mouse - 15 G Build a 100 Bite Chain.
This isn't that hard at all and can be achieved on many of the single player levels but even easier if you have a friend boosting with you since you are able to earn this in a multiplayer match. Either in 1P or multi, simply collect and eat 100 pieces of food in one chain. You will see the number of your bite chain on the right side by your player icon/score. Go fast so you always have a trail of food behind you but not too fast obviously or you will hit a wall and lose your chain. Also be wary of CPU opponents who may use an item on you and end your chain. I don't remember what level I did this on but Level 15 is definitely worth a shot - in fact, you can also use level 15 for the Satiated achievement but more on that later.
8. Crazy Skill - 15 G Clear Stage 16 by eating up all 3 foods without using any item.
Really not as hard as the name of the achievement implies. You are able to pick up items - just don't use them. At the start, the CPU player will run to the left and try to pick up the food on the bottom left of the map. You need to run as fast as you can but time it so that you slow down enough at the corner and then pick up speed again to go downward and get the item. To be honest, the beginning is the hardest part. Once you get the food and are ahead of him, go up and right to get the food and make your way to the middle to collect the third and final food. There is some randomness involved by the items he picks up and he may actually go a different way after the beginning but it's not too hard. Just retry if he beats you to the food. You will need to practice running and slowing down so you get the maximum speed allowed but once you get this down, this achievement shouldn't be too hard.
9. Satiated - 15 G Score 3500 points in a single player level.
Definitely do this on Level 15. When I got the achievement, I had close to 4000 points pretty easily. You start on the left side. Immediately bypass the top two items and head to the bottom and go right. Get the item which is usually (if not always) a freeze crystal. If you keep your chain going through all or most of the level, you should have no problem getting 3500. Also, use your items wisely. If you have gotten all of the food on one side and it spawns on the other, one of the CPU opponents may be closer than you are. Luckily, the handy teleport zap item is very useful here. Use the item to switch places with him and get all of the food first. Be careful because the enemies can use items too though. Just use these strategies and you should be able to get this achievement.
10. Champion - 15 G Get first place in a tournament match.
Do this in player match with at least two players. You will need to win 2 rounds of the tournament to get the achievement but it is still a quick easy achievement.
11. World Food Party! - 20 G Complete 50 Xbox LIVE multiplayer matches.
You don't have to win at all - just play and complete any xbox live match and do this 50 times. All players will get a "complete" game if you all stay until the end of it. Any mode is allowed and it can be player, ranked, or a combination of both. There's also a trick to getting this quickly, though it will only work for players who stay in the match. For instance, have one player host the game and another join. When the game starts, one player can quit and the player still in the game (be it the host or person who joined) will get a "complete" game from that, though the quitter will not. Thanks goes to Zebrasqual for telling me this method which makes the achievement even quicker if you don't feel like playing all 50 matches to completion.
12. The Sweet Taste of Victory - 15 G Get first place in a ranked match.
Simply win one ranked match in any mode. Not sure if quitting out makes the other player win though it doesn't matter since this is just one win which doesn't take long at all - as long as you can actually find someone who is playing! If not, get a friend and boost this with them quickly.
I hope my strategies help you earn these achievements. Good luck everyone!
