I done the acheivment with all the settings set to the hardest difficulty (since ive been playing the Soul* series for around a decade) and when I got the acheivment I actually felt like I had acheived something more than just some gamer points or a pretty Icon. Then again it only took me about 3 or 4 minutes from start to finish (did it first time) so I never got frustrated with it.
Touche.
Did it feel like cheating? If it did then, yes, it's cheating.
ps- I used this method too after many attempts at getting it legitimately. I felt bad about it. I'm over it, but I know I cheated to get it.
If the options allow you to do it then its not cheating.
Cheating is entering a code or hacking.

If you define "cheating" like that then the debate is over, because technically this method wouldn't be "cheating"- but it's still "cheesing."
Anyways, I think that definition is flawed. Not many games have codes or hacks, but you can still cheat. For example, setting the game time and/or penalties in a sports game to off in order to easily get the "get a shut out" or "record 20 blocks" achievements. The options allow you to do it, but I don't see many people calling that legitimate.
If it feels like cheating, it's cheating... and I cheated to get this Achievement too.
The wierdest thing happened to me. I read this thread and thought...hmmmm i'll try that. Got the noble soul achievement...hooray. I went back to the dashboard and checked my played games list to see how many points out of 200 i had. It now reads 0/200. The achievements i've got are coloured in but the scores aren't registering. Any body else had this problem ?
I guess the moral of the story is do things properly or don't do them at all.
