Samurai Warriors 3 has been announced -- but there's a problem.

 

Koei has stated that Samurai Warriors 3 will be released ONLY for the Nintendo Wii and Sony Playstation 2. Any hopes for a fully Next-Gen Samurai Warriors game have been dashed.

Samurai Warriors 3 (Sengoku Musou 3 in Japan) is the third in the Samurai Warriors series, created by Koei and Omega Force. Koei has officially stated that the game is set to be released in 2009 for both the Wii and PS2. In a teaser trailer and official announcement Nobunaga Oda, Masamune Date, and Yukimura Sanada was comfirmed (appearing as his Samurai Warriors 2 incarnation) along with four unknown characters.

What the hell, the Wii isn't even a next gen console, my PS2 is better than that rubbish, release it for the 360!!!

I wouldn't worry to much because wiki is known to be an unreliable source of info because anyone can submit entrys as for the translation that really doesn't make much sense probaly have better luck getting someone that can read japanese to read the original and the youtube says its for the wii but it doesn't say it isn't for the other platforms, i mean why would you release games on a particular console then release the sequel on last gen but good find in the fact that they are making a third one at least

I'm hearing stories that it might be PS3 as well which will just make it sad if its not on 360 as well. I'm not terribly worried though since I only just got the 360 version of SW2 and have invested about 90 hours into the PS2 version so it wont be a big drawback for me.

Fortunately companies make last minute decisions. It has a high probability of being put on a next gen console. But I can see why they won't. Sales have dropped on Koei's Dynasty warriors/Samurai warriors series over 20%.

I hope they release it for 360

It's official. Wii exclusive in Japan.. This is starting to look very bad.
