recuing my child glitched? poss spoilers

hello, i have just got the quest to find my child from the hobbes cave. well i have got him and left the cave but the quest wont end. i cant do anything else as it wont let me leave my child. my only idea is to let them kill my wife so the child gets taken away!
anyone else had this and if so, solutions?

yeah I got it and I redid the quest and it worked, the reason why this glitch happens is if you fast travel to the cave, just fast travel to rookridge and enter the cave from the cave entrance not the cellar entrance, to redo it just go back into the cave after leaving, it should prompt you with a message saying you will lose all progress in this quest, press yes and it will start you from the beginning of the quest
