Glitchy Kefling! Help please!

Hey guys, I have had this since about an hour after starting and it's really annoying. I have this Kefling (it was school educated and originaly doing something) that I asked to do a job. But whenever I go to something (building, tress, planks etc.) I can't make the Kefling do the job. It no longer has a hat as I took it off hoping it would help. I havn' seen this anywhere so thought I would post it. At the top right when you take the Kefling to something, rather then the "A Button" being visible, it has a circle witha cross through it. I don't know why it won't let me do anything with it, and I need all the Keflings I can get. It also keeps following me around, which is a pain. Thanks in advance for any help :)

have you hit the Y button to change what that kefling can do?

Yeah that's what I did to take the hat off when I first found the problem, because I thought it might be that, but it made no difference. Thanks for your post :)

hmm, i havent had any issue with that myself. i did have one kefling that i had moving carved stones to the.. other building i cant remember, but he got stuck under the building and i couldnt pick him up. i had to move the whole stack of stones and after a few minutes he started walking agian.

i dont know. the only other things i can think of is to:
1. give that kefling a taste of your shoe
2. try to get him to do another job, if it works, then pick him up again and try to get him to do the job you want
3. save and reload

hopefully one of those 3 will reset him

4. unejookate him and throw him into your guild hall or something else instead

Thanks again man. I have tried each of those things several times (especially the boot one, this Kefling has been kicked HEAPS!) lol. I can't get him to interact with anything and it is quite annoying as I need him to work for me. All your suggestions are much appreciated though.

hmm.

5. construct a building that also requires a kefling to activate. throw him in there, then destroy the building.

thats all i can come up with.. but im guessing that wont work either. what job are you trying to get him to do?

Yeah I tried that too :( Originaly I was trying to get him to do woodcutting, but I would be happy with any job at the moment lol. All very good suggestions anyway, and thanks again!

That's happened to me, too, unfortunately.  :(

Carry that kefling over to one of your houses.  Make sure it's the only kefling NOT assigned to do anything.  Break a house (punch it).  Two keflings will leave, because you broke their house, you big meanie.  The kefling you're having trouble with will be one of them, because she is not assigned to anything, and those are the ones that leave first.  Wait for her to leave the world all the way.  Then rebuild the house and reassign the new keflings that pop out.

Edit:  Sounds like you tried save/reload, so I'm removing that suggestion from my post here.  :)

I am sincerely sorry for this glitch - it's a weird one.  In any case, the steps above should fix it.

Hey Gostay thanks heaps man. Good job on the game too. This glitch doesn't sound common at all, so shouldn't cause many problems. I will try your first suggestion soon :) Really appreciate yours, and other posters from NinjaBee, for all your help with our issues and questions. For anyone else who has this problem this sounds like the solution that should fix it. Will let you know if it works for me though :)

Good thing I read this post - I've got the same problem.

I must have kicked the keefling a mile by now! Got the kicking achievement solely from him I think.

Gostay I may have done it wrong, so will try again soon, but I tried it a few times and it didn't work. One Kefling left, and the other problem Kefling just followed me around, wandering all over the place again. I'll try again, but I don't know what else I can do... I had the same problem. I just decided to forget that the little pest continued to live and went on as usual. I guess she finally got tired of following me around and went back to work on her own.

I got a transporter kelfling stuck in one of the infinite trees holding a log lol. Can't interact w/ it at all. oh well

Can you walk up next to it and press "B" to switch your target from selecting the trees to selecting the Kefling? That's the only thing I can think of that might work...

This is what me & my friend call "the idiot kefling"....i swear we had this 1 out of the entire village & he wouldn't do crap. So we went & built some walls & made him a "playpen" cause we deemed him "retarded"....it was messed up cause he just walked out through the walls. He just went around doing as he pleased so we kicked him around like a soccer ball.

Haha. Yeah I kicked the Kefling about a thousand times too... It just keeps following you around, and you end up grabbing it instead of another Kefling half the time aswel. Really annoying if you need the Kefling for a job because you don't have many...

I guess I'm another member of the "Idiot Kefling" club.  I've had the same problem.  Even got the achievement for kicking them by doing that with this one.  I've tried all the things that were mentioned below and still none of them worked.  I even tried breaking all the houses and rebuilding and all I got for that was a frozen game and Xbox.  Had to reboot and lost a couple hours of work.  Thou I have the freeze problem several times since then also.  It gets so annoying when the person follows you around and gets in the way of you picking up the other keflings.  I tried to put her in all the other schools and guilds no luck.  I sent an email to support.  I hope they fix it soon.  I'm at the point of not playing the game due to the frustration.

I may just start completely over which is upsetting since I"m three buildings away from completeing them all.

Thanks for the help and suggestions from everyone.  I sure hope we can all continue as the game is fun.

How very sad :(  You could build a jail for her out of walls so she wouldn't follow you around anymore...

Dont I wish.  She deserves jail  lol.  I didn't try it as someone else in the forums said they tried it and the kefling just walked right through it.  Of course its worth a try to see if it does it on mine.  thanks for the suggestion.   :)  I just saw someone else's post with a nice map and spreadsheet for having the town setup in a way that makes it easier to work.  So I'm thinking of doing a new one to see if It fixes the problems.

Hahaha I never thought about making jails lol. Customization in this game is really extensive. I wonder what else you could make out of the materials.

I don't know if any of you have done this, but since everyone said they had kick their kefling more retarded I'm assuming this should of happend to someone.

Try to kick your kefling into something infinit and see if they start doing that job. I accedently kicked one of my kefling out of my way into some trees and they started cutting them. Don't know how well this will work but should be worth a shot.

 Sounds like he was assigned a task in a building and that building got destroyed, if so you have to rebuild his building and put him back in it. IE: Painter, more likely the Mayor, Lord , or King.
