After I installed the NXE dashboard update, I decided to try playing Uno since they added avatar support.  I put the disc in and download the title update and get to the game menu only to find out I can't play multiplayer because it doesn't think I have the full version.  I go back to the dashboard and launch it again and get the same message.  I try signing in and out of Live and no dice, even when disconnected and playing offline.  Different profiles, same deal.  I try the other games on the disc and they all show up as trials too.

How am I supposed to play these games?  Please help me.  I would hope Microsoft would be doing something about this as they published this compilation.

Similar problem, and not just me but another friend.  So; different discs, different consoles, all the same problem.  This has little to do with the disc itself or even the console, but more to do with the fact that the disc was originally programmed to load the old Pre-NXE Arcade dashboard, showing the games installed and in-cache (the six games loaded on the disc) that are available within the Arcade itself.  With the NXE installed all games intalled on the console are shown in a different place than that of the Pre-NXE.  This causes the disc to be unreadable and unidentifiable by the console.  I have attempted four (4) contacts with someone from Microsoft trying desperately to get someone from the Microsoft Games department to get a programmer to find a fix.  Unfortunatly noone I speak with via email or phone seems to understand what I am trying to tell them.  They keep giving me the same fixes for other "Unreadable Disc" errors, but this will not fall into that same situation.  If I get a responce that is helpful from my most recent email, I will post a response here about what to do.  If other people have discovered a fix.  Please post it here.  Thank you.

Well, now I just feel foolish.  After the NXE was released and I tried the disc it refused to work.  I had tried several times since and it was still the same thing.  However, after seeing this thread and posting in it I decided to try the disc one more time.  And there was an update and the disc worked perfectly.  So, they apparently had already heard about the problem and had fixed it.  I still wonder why no one in support could understand my problem.  Anyway,I'm not having the problem any more so, I suppose I have nothing else to add.  Hope it is working for everyone else.

I just tried the disc myself and it doesn't work.  How did you get it to update?

Please let us know how you got the update, when I put the disc in, there is never a request for update... I just receive a "disconnected from xbox live" followed by a quick return to the dashboard.

This is exactly what happens to me to.  How is this fixed?  They should just give us codes to just download these titles instead of running them off the disc.

I 3rd that.  I just tried my disc this past weekend and I get the same black screen booting the game, disconnected from XBL, and then kicked back to the dashboard.  Never was there a notification that an update was needed, available, or downloading.  This really sucks because this is the first time I tried playing my disc and I hope it doesn't turn out to be $20 down the drain.

I tried calling xbox support since there isn't much help online about this. I went through all the motions of clearing my cashe, deleting my gamer tag and recovering it, and still this game won't boot up. I haven't run into this problem with any other disc. Hopefully they can fix this soon, wanted to play hold'em and bejeweled.

I found the solution - I hope this helps someone. The disk itself can't just be launched the same way you launch a game. You have to go into your "Arcade games" section and they will be listed there. you can launch from there.
