I have seen a lot of people go on and on about how they don't like PES this year. I love it this year. I played fifa 09 and it was slow, crashed and almost currpted my HDD. Anyway, my point is, if you don't like it, instead of saying "it is bad, you should say what you didn't like about it and complane to Konami.

secondly, have you ever been to these forums? people have been complaining to kon-u-and-mi for years now about how they've changed the game and about how online is retardedly left unfixed until the next game comes out and does the same thing.
thirdly, why is it that schools don't teach grammar and basic spelling anymore? i'm not talking capitalization. i'm talking basic english skills. sometimes i feel i have to dumb down my responses just so some gamers can understand my point. it usually takes a few posts to make them understand.

The game is a joke

AI is dead - I've passed the ball to team mates and watched in horror as they've stood their and done nothing

Shooting is Random - I've been point blank with Rooney - half a bar charged, and watched the ball float to the keeper too many times

Konami = can't make football games anymore

i noticed that, sometimes u think u have the ball then somehow it disappears and ends up with the opponent.

it still lags but not as much as pes 2008, gameplay just doesnt seem to flow online, kinda stutters, if ya know what i mean

Like most said, PES hasn't been improved in a while. Lag is still a huge issue, graphics and animation still look like PS2 and gameplay has been made more arcady and cartoonishly faster.

Most people on the forums agree with this and most critics have already slammed the game with low scores. There's really no doubt that PES is a huge disappointment. Regarding your crash on FIFA, I never heard or had anything like that. Probably just a random crash or a defective DVD. The speed is slow, but realistically slow. It's actually faster than FIFA08, but slow enough to give you time to create good plays and get a realistic peace. PES is so fast that reminds me of those old silent movies that ran on faster frame speeds (with the funny piano music on the background...) I think PES this year is an insult to its fans.

I still like the PES series. I'm very lucky to not have had lad problems but I don't tend to use the typical teams, maybe that makes a difference, who knows? All the reasons people give for disliking it must be valid as so many people can't be wrong(can they) but I think the most enjoyable part of the game is being missed out on by so many people by not varying the teams and matching up the skills of a Genoa against a River Plate etc. Smile [:)]

what he said, some of us are actively enjoying PES2009. My games are fine online, i haven't had a lag fest for over 200 matches. Those that complain about the lag must either have poor connections or are not doing something right IMO. Sometimes its a little bit unresponsive but i host all my games and nearly all have been fine. I do try to stick to UK based players if I can, i find the Italians and Spanish have terrible connections at times.

Additionally, there is a lot more to be found by playing with the lesser teams. I was top 100 ranked in the first week with Man U, it got so boring. Now i find it a nice challenge to beat all the Barca/Man U players with a lower team.

I know FIFA has come on strides, but i still think PES has always been the better game where ultimately you have much more control over whats going on. 2v2 is a great laugh as well. The servers are pretty full up with players right now as well, so its not too hard to get games either.

Plus, half the things that people don't like which are listed earlier in the thread are nonsense, or rather one opinion. Heres my answers to the above :-

this is the problem with this game. some people say there is no online lag. most say there is. why is that? there has never been any response from konami about what causes this. all these useless gaming magazines have never asked anyone at konami any good questions.

people have different views on what lag is.

some games it looks as if i have gone in for the tackle and won the ball, the ball is at my feet, then vanishes to the feet of the opposition running towards my goal. thats still lag. also the play seems to stutter sometimes online and leads to mistakes

Why don't I like PES 2009? I have plenty of reasons why. But I'll try to keep it simple b/c if I start on a rant idk if I'll ever stop. To be simple. Konami just aren't doing enough for this game. I'm not sure if that's b/c they're too arrogant/lazy/unaware (or both) to improve this game. I played PES 5 the other day at my friend's house and that was when I realized how bad this game really is. I mean they couldn't even fix the lag! It's not bad for me but I can't even play my friends online b/c their connections aren't as good as mine and they warp everywhere. Not only that but it seems as if they try improving the less important things (music...which still sucks) and don't improve other more important things (online and Master League). It also bothers me a little that they can get the Champions League licenses but don't even bother licensing all of La Liga (which they have before). It's not so much that I love licensing but that it just feels so...dirty to play the game.

There's more. But I'm not here to rant.

Not gameplay related, but I'm done with PES after the disrespect shown by Konami. North American users have yet to recieve ANY updates and Konami makes NO effort to inform us when or why. They just don't care.
And the update isn't just any roster update; it includes licensed teams, which are pretty freakin' important if you are a fan of one of them or if you want to play a real Champions League game.

So *** Konami if they don't start doing something soon.

I played the new pes for about a week and i thought it was so bad i have gone back to 08! they have made the whole game look like sunday league football, i like the become ledgend feature but its very random in terms of your rating you get and your morale. The whole gameplay is just terrible compared to older versions of the game and many of my friends have turned their back on pro and gone to fifa! Konami really need to pull something out the bag with the next game or else there will be no players left!

What I Like: - Has the Iranian Team! FIFA doesn't, and I'm a fan of the Iranian Football Team. - Has much more Asian Football variety than FIFA. Not so Eurocentric. - Huge editing database. Let's you do a lot of editing, but has it's limits on the Xbox 360. - Cheaper than FIFA 09 What I don't like : - You can't edit Team B player's Nationalities. Making Team B completely useless. - The Iranian players are black. No offence to blacks....it's just that well....I could have sworn Iranians were lighter skinned - NO WAY WHAT SO EVER to use images from your USB to patch some badges and kits. UNLESS you spend hours with your Xbox Vision Camera to do this. And trust me, every kit and badge, take a good hour. - The commentator gets annoying, repeating everything - Won't let you edit the league badges - Stupid AI - Not enough languages for the commentary. I wouldn't mind Russian or Persian (But that won't happen anytime soon, I can promise you that) - Duplicate Players. If the player is licensed on the club team, it wouldn't hurt Konami to have the same player on the national team, rather than make a double of him with a fake name. - No Goaltender mode for Become a legend This is just some stuff from the top of my head. Come to think of it, if FIFA 2010 had Iran in it, I would buy it in a heartbeat instead of PES2010. FIFA has done great with the clubs, but it's time to include more national teams. Other than the brainless non-AI, what really gets on my nerves is the totally ridiculous difficulty of 'Normal' mode. Its absoloutely infuriating. Even playing as Ronaldo im out paced by even the slowest of defenders for the worst teams, its total bull. The offside rule is completely broken as well, counting deflections off of opposing team players back to your player who kicked it as an offside.

Konami has dropped the ball literally with PES 09, dropped it in a pile of excrement, set it on fire and then laughed maniacally as they count our money. This game sucks the fun out of playing video games, I hate it with every fibre of my body.

When you run with the ball in legends (be a pro mode) you cant turn your player left or right you have to slow down unlike fifa. I not sure I like the way it changes from light to very dark on pitch it almost like playing silent hill fog on a football pitch.

I prefer Fifa cos it more real and you can have 10 vs vs 10 matchs online. There a few things I like about PES 2009 though that Fifa aint got But pes 2009 has which are Xbox Live Vision support for your created players, Champions League Tournament. I think players face models look better on PES 2009 than Fifa 09.

im a football fanatic and i used to love pes on the ps2 but lately pes just hasnt been keepin up with the standards that fifa have put for a football games firstly pes 09 gameplay iz rubbish its just not fluid like fifa, not realistic enough, graphics arent exactly xbox 360 standards, and finally konami need 2 pull something outta there @#+ if they wanna keep up with fifa next yr sorry but its true i hope pes does improve because good competiion for fifa will do them a favour so football games can improve even more
