the original is great but if you in it for achievements its sort i got them in less then 2 hours but if you want it just for when friends come around it can be a great laugh to play

If you like Soul Calibur then you will. I really enjoyed it arcade is very fun. I was happy I paid the 10 bucks its worth it the achievements are sorta easy. But the game is fun, if you need a quick something to play before going somewhere its a good game for it.

Better than most arcade games.

It could be the best with online play.
Oh well SC4 is out now so really its worth getting if you wanna practice before SC4.

I think it is worth it. SC is a classic game and I think this is the best version to play on.

Best versions SC2 easily.....

4 extra characters (Rapheal, Cassandra, Talim, and Yunsung.
It has more moves and stances as well..... I've played a lot of both and SC just seems limited compared to SC2 plus i want cage arenas sometimes. Ivy's moves were a lot better in 2 as well and she had longer reach.... Plus a different summon suffering move that was even cooler than the one in SC.
SC is still worth buying to see how SC started but 2 is easily the best (not sure about 4 but 3 did not impress me)
I'm not trying to say SC is not a good game i just want people to realize how much SC2 changed the series for the better. You also get more weapons than just 3 and a lot more features...

I dont think it is that easy.

By the reasons you just described (more characters and more moves) Soulcalibur 3 shoots 2 out of the water.
(I mean, SC2 = no Siegfried? come on!)

Also, if you want to know how it really started, get Soul Blade (Or soul edge, depending on where you live). that game is the prequel to the soul calibur series.

SC1 is a nice arcade experience though, imho worth the 800 points.

SC3 also switched all the moves around....
Just look at Ivy she controlled like a dream in SC2 but in SC3 and 4 she's just not as good.
Siegfried a variant over Yunsung, Rapheal, Talim and Cassandra (who were not variants they all had unique moves to there counterparts....).

SC2 was easily better than all others if you really played every character and figured out all there moves and stances SC1 is just limited.

I didn't mean it is the best versions in regards to the other SC games, but that it is a better version compared to the original Dreamcast SC.

I didnt even know this was on the Arcade.  This might sound like a stupid question but is this the same thing as the first Soul Blade from the PS1?  I loved that game, Valdo was the S!

I only tried the demo. Those levels were to easy. Not a scratch... And I'm a newbie! I never played this game when it was released, so I don't have a nostalgic feeling towards it. So, after completing the demo, just erased it...
