Hi, So I'm trying to set up my Xbox LIVE on my Xbox 360, I use Quicklink Mobile Cricket as an ISP, and so the modem is a USB modem, making it impossible to plug into the 360 and use because the Xbox most likley doesn't have drivers for it, and I don't want to wreck it. So I'm trying to Connect a Ethernet cable FROM My computer, to the Xbox 360. now, I also have a dynamic IP, so I went and found my IP, Sub-Net Mask, and Gateway, but when I try to connect with the Xbox 360, the test fails stating that "Your gateway did not respond toa network request." How can I make the Gateway respond? I've enabled Network Sharing, and I'm running windows XP at the moment. Please help, Thanks!
First you have to make sure that Internet Connection Sharing is enabled for the adapter on your computer that connects to the modem. Once that is enabled, right click on the adapter that connects your Xbox to your computer and select Repair. This should set the TCP/IP protocol to a manual address (192.168.0.1). In the Xbox menu, run the connection test with automatic settings. If that doesn't work, then set the gateway to 192.168.0.1 and try again. Hopefully that helps you out a bit. Let me know if you need more details.
