I actually tried that.  I selected my wireless adapter and my LAN adapter, right clicked on one of them and hit Bridge Connections.  That resulted in me unable to connect to my router as my wireless adapter pretty much stopped working.  I checked the bridged connection properties and noticed that the AEGIS Protocol (IEEE 802.1x) was not present.  This is probably why I couldn't connected wirelessly.  I'm not sure how to make that item show up in the bridged connection though.  Maybe you or someone can help me with that?  Or help me with setting up the bridge properly?

Hi I have tryed everything on that list and still am having no luck connecting my xbox live. Everytime i go to test connection the network fails but everything else connects. I have a D-Link DI 624 router, i know my xbox connects to live because when i plug the ethernet cable into the modem directly unplugging my router it never fails. I'm not sure what is going on i've called dlink and xbox 360 support and they both keep refering me back to one another. Thanks for taking a look at this.

Not sure if this is the right thread for this question, so apologies if not but I have signed up to Xbox Live Gold this morning and played Top Spin 2 fine online against someone but when I try to play Fifa 09 it says 'an xbox live membership limitation does not allow you to use this feature'

Do some games just take longer to recognise Gold membership than others?

Hey, i recently upgraded to xbox live gold having had silver for a few months. I upgraded via xbox.com, and online my profile says i now have gold membership, However when i sign into live on my 360 it still says i just have xbox live silver, how can i update it so that im recognised as a gold member?

I am connected to Live and can download stuff and stream videos from netflix.  However, and my problem, I can't play any games online.  The messages "no games were found" or "Could not contact the game server" are what i get instead.  I have a gold account and my ISP says my connection speed is more than enough to handle XBOX LIVE.  Even though XBOX support told me it wasn't and refused to tell me what speed is required to be able to play games on LIVE.  Anyone have any idea what is going on and how to correct it so I can play online?

Have you tried to do the Xbox Live connection test from the Xbox menu?  Does that test tell you that you have a Strict or Moderate NAT?  If so then that could be your problem and possible fixes are on the first page of this thread.  If not, then maybe you can describe your Xbox connection setup so that we can help you further.

So I'm trying to Connect a Ethernet cable FROM My computer, to the Xbox 360. now, I also have a dynamic IP, so I went and found my IP, Sub-Net Mask, and Gateway, but when I try to connect with the Xbox 360, the test fails stating that "Your gateway did not respond toa network request." How can I make the Gateway respond? I've enabled Network Sharing, and I'm running windows XP at the moment. Please help, Thanks!

First you have to make sure that Internet Connection Sharing is enabled for the adapter on your computer that connects to the modem.  Once that is enabled, right click on the adapter that connects your Xbox to your computer and select Repair.  This should set the TCP/IP protocol to a manual address (192.168.0.1).  In the Xbox menu, run the connection test with automatic settings.  If that doesn't work, then set the gateway to 192.168.0.1 and try again.  Hopefully that helps you out a bit.  Let me know if you need more details.

I'm trying to connect to Xbox Live. In my room I have my computer that picks up wireless internet from my router in another room. I plugged the Ethernet cable into my computer, and the other end into my Xbox. Shouldn't I be able to get on Live? It says IP Address failed. What can I do to connect to Xbox Live?

if you are on windows xp click start>connect to>show all connection, right click on ur wireless, properties>advanced tab and make sure u have clicked share connection, hit apply and u shud be ok. you might have to disable ur firewall from ur computer to make it work

I have a new Netopia modem: gray, four ethernet ports, wireless attachments. However, I can't seem to get on XBox Live at all with it, when I can easily on my soon-to-be-returned older modem. The only difference I can think of is that with the old modem I'd connect a blue cable directly from it to the 360 ia the USB slot just above the 360's ethernet port. Is there anyway I can go Live on this new modem? Any help would be much appreciated.

Bare in mind, my Modem has Ethernet Connections AND Wireless Connections enabled.

Hi, I recently got my XBOX Live.  My brouther set it up which was ok,  He made a gamer tag.  Though I think he set up live while he was on a offline account.  So later that day I try to go on I go on the live account play Midnight Club: LA and I have to start all over from the top.  Meaning no Saleen, best cars etc.

What I am trying to say is with a live account and a gamertag set up can you play live on a offline account.  Offline account I mean by when you first get the 360 you start with files and you make them.  What I want to do is go on live on my offline account. Is that possible?

It should be and i'm missing something because hopefully I just didn't buy LIVE for nothing.

New problem: using the new Netopia modem with Eircom broadband in Ireland. Plug in, connects fine for five-15 minutes while the DSL light is green. Then it disconnects when the Internet light comes on and won't reconnect. I have adjusted the settings as per most guides, the fireall, enable XBox Live, click UPnP  and so on. So what's wrong?

So if I under stand correctly, your brother setup up a gold account while signed on a silver account.  This should of upgraded the silver to a gold.  As far as I know that shouldn't of  affected your saves.

when i try to conect (my first time), in the part when the xbox live ask mi e-mail, a message pop up, something like this "the region from this live id belongs its doesn´t avaible for now".... its a temporary problem or i have to create a diferent acount?... im from latin america (Colombia)

For the past week I've been having this problem. First let me say that my live isn't always hooked up. When I want to play live I have to unplug my PC cord from my hub and hook in the xbox cord before I sign in. This has always worked fine.

But for the past week I sign on to xbox live and after a few minutes it disconnects. Doesn't matter what I'm doing or what time it is. It'll do it while my wife is watching a netflix movie streaming, which we haven't been able to do for a week now. Or playing a game or just sitting on the dashboard. After it disconnects I attempt to sign back in and nothing happens. "failed to connect. I can unplug my ethernet cord and power source and reboot the hub and it'll sign on again, only to disconnect a few minutes later.

I don't think it's my internet because my PC never disconnects or slows. My wife and I are very frustrated. It took some convincing for me to get her to tap into our budget to get the xbox and XBL and Netflix. If this happens as often as it has been then it wouldn't have been worth it.

Can anybody help me please. I would really appreciate it.
