Achievement Guide

Just to help clear some things up.

First off, lets define the difference between a City Location and a Mission.  There are 11 Missions in the game.  Each mission is a city like New York.  Each Mission then has 3 locations in that city, known as a City Location such as the Statue of Liberty.

Each City Location has 3 bonus items.  1 provides you 1000 point bonus (see Star Performer Achievement for more details), 1 provides you some extra time on the clock, and the last gives you an extra hint for the mission.

To use a hint press Y and select the item.  The "hint" basically shows you where the item is on the screen.  Beware, using hints will also prevent you from getting certain achievements below.

Each time you play it randomizes the items you need to find, so there is some replay value here.  The Locked puzzles found in some missions will also change what you need to find.

In addition to 11 Missions, 33 City Locations, and some locked puzzles in missions there are also 2 bonus puzzles which are of the "find what's different between these two pictures" variety.  These 2 bonus puzzles also randomize what is different, and should be noted that they are only available in single player mode.

Now on to the achievements:

Finder's Keepers
Found all 8 Items in a City Location in the Single Player or Co-Op Mission

You'll get this by progressing through the Story Line.  You need to find 8 items in each city location, so the first one you complete, this will unlock.  Simple.  Note that some items ask for multiple items, like 2 dogs.  2 dogs count as one item.

Quick on the Draw
Find 3 items within 5 seconds

As it says, find 3 items in 5 seconds.  Actually not as hard as it sounds.  Both my wife and I got it without even trying or knowing the puzzles yet.  Lots of puzzles will say find 3 pens or something similar.  Most times they are grouped near each other.  Bonus items count too so that's a good way to group 3 items together quick.

Not Impossible
Completed one Mission

Easy.  Finish one Mission.  You'll start at S.F. and pick this up after beating the 3 locations in the story.

The First Hint’s Free…
Completed one Mission without using any Hints

Simply complete one mission without using any hints (the y button).

Bonus Plan
Found all 9 Bonus Items in one Mission

As stated above, there are 3 bonus items per city location, meaning 9 per mission.  The "look" of the bonus items change each mission but are still easy to find.  In the first mission for example they are cards.  Just find 3 in each location before completing all 8 items and when you complete the mission this will unlock.

You Always Remember Your First
Completed Mission 3 and captured Mister Smith

Finish Mission 3 in the story.  You can actually get these achievements out of order if you play co-op over xbox live and join a game that's further in the story.

Back for Seconds
Completed Mission 6 and captured The Hammer

Finish Mission 6 in the story.

Third Time’s the Charm
Completed Mission 9 and captured The Artiste

Finish Mission 9 in the story.

Fourth Down
Completed Mission 11 and captured Dr. Chaos

Finish mission 11 in the story

Wham, Bam…
Completed a City Location in less than 30 seconds

Actually a lot easier than it sounds.  Remember, this is in just a single city location (not mission).  Find all 8 items in 30 seconds.  To help, just play a location multiple times (you have to finish a mission before it lets you replay).  After a few plays you'll have a good idea where most (if not all) items are and  you should be able to get all 8 in 10 seconds even.  Do some co-op to make this even easier.

This achievement is slightly glitched in that it does not unlock until you complete a Bonus Puzzle.  Bonus Puzzles are only available in single player.  So after you do this, simply go to single player if not there already and finish a bonus puzzle.  Should unlock.

Star Performer
Earned Elite Agent Rank in any Mission

I found the trick and it's super easy now to get elite agent.  Go to a mission you know well, like the one you got the Wham Bam achievement on.  Hopefully you can get all items fairly quick.  Now first thing, get all bonus items before getting anything else!  The 1000 bonus item enables you to get 1000 extra points for each item you pick up after it provided you pick it up fairly quick.  Trust me.  The bonus time gives you more time so it looks like you finished the level super quick, and the extra hint gives you more hints you didn't use that give you even more points.  Just pick up all the bonus items, then nail all the items in the location and repeat until you complete the mission.  I did this on the first mission and got it the first time I picked up the cards at the beginning of each city location.  Easy as pie.

Just Said “No”
Complete every Mission without using any Hints

Just complete every mission (all 11) without using hints.  There does seem to be a problem here, as most (if not all) people i've run into have not received this achievement (like me) when playing a co-op game even when no hints are used.   I'm currently going through the game again single player and i'll post if it works doing it that way.  I know others who did SP and had no issues with this achievement.

Hope this helps!  Really fun game, I hope they come out with some bonus levels or something soon.  It's way too short :(

just 1 mission.  I loaded up the first mission (SF) on single player.  I've played this one a few times so I know where everything is more or less

picked a city location.  got all 3 cards, then all 8 items relatively quick.
next city location same thing.  Started by grabbing all 3 cards, then the 8 items.
last city location same thing.  All cards, 8 items.

achievement unlocked for elite agent.

then I told my wife I thought the cards did the trick, so she loaded it up and tried same level on her profile.  Using the same strategy she got it.  She tooked about 30 seconds longer than I put to complete the mission but she still got it.  I think she completed with 30:23 left.

If you still can't get it, post your stats at the end of the mission.  Like time left, hints left, etc.  Basically everything it shows you and I can tell you mine and maybe we'll see what's up.

Re: Achievement Guide
i FINALLY got star performer after lots of trying, and so far this is what i come up with.

as mentioned before, you do have to get all the cards first, then all items fairly fast (my guess is have 30min or more @ end of mission)

also, heres a key part i kept missing-- you must NOT  mis-click anything.  if you click a wrong item or barely missed an item you were going for... best start again.    you must be very careful even when moving fast to make sure youre clicking on the item you want.

Re: Achievement Guide
Does the "Just Say No!" achievement have to be completed in a single sitting?

It does not, but it can't be done with more than one local player.  Anything done in local multiplayer must be done again later.

Yes very good to note.  You can't get the achievement if you play any missions in LOCAL multiplayer.  I went back and played those ones again in solo (just ones I hadn't solo'd/xbox live multiplayered with no hints before) and the achievement locked.  You don't have to do them in order or all at once.

Re: Achievement Guide

The thing about the Wham, Bam... achievement possibly being glitched... I had no problems unlocking this in co-op with my friend. We didn't have to do any bonus puzzles or anything like that. We just did one of the first locations a couple times until we got everything memorized. It unlocked without a problem

Re: Achievement Guide
My sister and I got all of them except Just Say No.  Now I gotta do them all again lol  Also, theres a lot of people putting emphasis on "local" multiplayer.  Can it be done via Live multiplayer?
