There's been alot of controversy lately between fans of the series.
What's your opinion? Personally I hate Superman and know he would get owned by Goku.
Why? Superman is weak against Kryptonite and has to be far away from his homeworld to have any sort of powers.
Ah, this topic again. This debate between Superman and Goku is bound to never end, thanks to fanboys and fangirls of both. Though, I will offer my unbiased opinion on this matter in an effort to show some light to this debate.
First, lets evaluate the speed of the two. Superman, obviously, moves faster than a modern bullet nowadays. Goku can move the same speed by teleporting, reaching much faster super speeds in higher Super Saiyan levels. Though, even in his normal form, Goku would have the advantage. He has the ability to move at the speed of light (Instant Transmission).
Now we get to the biggest part of it, strength. Superman is, no doubt, amazingly powerful. Any modern weapons can not harm him. He also has the power to destroy a planet if he really wanted to. Goku, on the other hand, has different strength levels from Super Saiyan transformations. In his normal form, modern weapons also do not harm him, and he still has the power to destroy a planet to (refer to the Saiyan Saga if you do not believe me). Even so, Superman would most definitely overpower Goku in his nomal form from sheer power. Goku would have to use Kaio Ken x20 to put up a fight and even it out a little, but it couldn't be maintained. Once transformed into a Super Saiyan, though, the actual battle would begin.
Most people increasingly underestimate the true power of the Super Saiyan transformation. Remember that Goku had mastered the transformation, and can use it effectively by draining near-zero energy to maintain it. In this state, Goku's normal speed is past Superman's (for a number answer, both fighters had the same speed in his normal state, and the Super Saiyan transformation multiplies Goku's strength and speed by about fifty). Pure power wise, Goku again has the lead on Superman. You have to realize exactly what Goku has accomplished in only his Super Saiyan transformation to realize exactly how much he had improved in the entire series. Remember he killed Kid Buu, the strongest being in the galexy, in only the first Super Saiyan transformation with the Spirit Bomb.
And as for if the planet blew up, remember that Goku can move at light speed, and would just use his Instant Transmission technique to move to another habitable planet, either one he had been to or the Kai's worlds.
So in closing, Superman would beat Goku in his untransformed state, Goku having to use Kaio Ken just to keep up. But once transformed into Super Saiyan, he would control the fight. If all else failed, the higher levels of Super Saiyan (2, 3, and 4) would completely dominate Superman.
I don't know where people get the idea that Goku would get owned in the higher levels of Super Saiyan. Perhaps they should actually read the manga first so you can see what it can actually do.
