Question about farming.
A friend bought me this game a year ago and I haven't played it till now. My loss now that I see how awesome it is.  I'm only starting and am using the "V" assault rifle and the Goliath rocket launcher.  So far this is a good combination for me.  But what level would be the best to farm on?  Should I use different weapons?  Also, do you get stronger armor dropped at higher difficulties?
Thank you for your answers.

Level 44 or 46 to farm on INFERNO. You'll need good weapons to do so.

As you go through the levels and difficulties, you will get better weapons. The real challenge in this game is getting through INFERNO. Even the HARD and HARDEST difficulties are very difficult without the right weapons.

Re: Question about farming.
On Easy difficulty on the level Inferno (level 49?) is where I farm armour.  I will take out the hordes, then destroy one drop ship and go under the 2nd drop ship.  Once there let it drop ants constantly while you use an Assault rifle, or really any other gun that you like and continue to kill.

In about 20 min I was able to rack up 130 health in that level.  Going to spend some time there as I am getting ready to take on the Hardest very soon.

Weapons to farm, someone already posted that lvl 46 on Inferno difficulty is the best place to farm as the droprates there seem to be just great.

Re: Question about farming.
just farm a level that has a lot of ants. spearhead, level 43 is good because they keep coming out of nests. I just take out the red ant hill and the spider nest. the black ants can't do much. especially if you're just playing on easy to farm the armor.

right now, I can't beat the last three levels on Harder, and have beaten the first 11 or 12 levels on Inferno. I can't get any further, regardless of weapon choice, so I'm farming armor. Convergence is REALLY frustrating on Harder. I just get slammed by the robots lasers, so I can't really take down the drop ships. then add in all the ants and spiders and it's over pretty quick at that point.

Re: Question about farming.
Also, try to get someone to play with you in Co-op mode.  If you can get another person to play, you essentially have twice as many weapons to take on the enemies.  When you get the turrets, this definitely comes in handy because one person can choose 2 of the same turrets while the other player chooses a turret and another main weapon (like a rocket launcher, sniper rifle, assault rifle).  Turrets have really slow reload times, but they can easily take out a huge group of enemies (including those big robots) if you place them correctly and use them wisely.

Tip:  If you have 2 sets of turrets, place one set down and activate them.  When they're just about done firing their rounds, set down the next set.  Rince and repeat as needed.  Also, weapons only reload when you have them active, so make sure to reload turrets while the other set is firing away.
