High Score Leaderboard Malfunction??
Does anyone play Centipede/Millipede (any more)?  I was playing and made high score on the leaderboard, but when I left the game that displayed my high score of 19640, I put in the initials KGR, I went to check the score on the main leaderboard.  The top score was 16521 (or something in that area) and I returned to the screen where the High Scores were (in the demonstration screen) and my score (19640) was not there.  What gives?  Thanks for any help.

I don't recall but i believe your score is only there until you exit the game.  It will not save to the local board and be there upon power down/on.

Oh?  okay.  Not to sound rude, but HOW did the other people get their score to stay as high scores?  And then "WHAT'S the point of going for high score if it won't stay on the online leaderboard?"

I know that you are not a programmer, but I really would like some reasoning as why not and that way I won't be purchasing or encouraging my friends to buy old school games and just play the flash games online for free.  I really do not care for emulators and like to play on my TV, but this leaderboard is something I normally do not care for.  But as with Poker Smash and a few other leaderboard score games, this game would have been PERFECT for a leaderboard challenge amongst my friends.

Thanks for you reply.

No.  Local board.  Not global.

I re-read your post and i think you are confusing leaderboards.  The top global score is 200,000+ not 16,000.  16,000 sounds like the local leaderboard.  Especially when you say you entered your initials of KGR.  May want to double check.

Hey thanks.  i was thinking the same thing, but that is why I sat there and did it AGAIN, as soon as i was 2000 points over, (just to make sure), I died.  I did not record the entire thing, just the leaderboard.  I made this video:

Please correct me.  Also, NO ONE plays local at my home.  I'm the only gamer in my house.  My initials are normally WGO (warrengonline), but in the past arcade life: RAZ.  None of which are in this video.  Thanks for all of you attempts.  I just would like to know what is wrong.  I'll be looking at the 200,000 scores later today and probably attempt and fail sometime around in May to beat those scores.

Thanks again.

The local board is erased when ever you exit the game and come back.  I personally have around 70k for default centipede.  The local board shows the high score of 16,549.

Its hard to see where you are going in the leaderboards or your name.  But does that account you're using start with a females name? and end with a household pet? Indeed i do see that score you posted on the leaderboards.  I do not see any of the 20k scores you showed, but since i can't see a name associated with any of them.  It's hard to say what your issue is.

Re: High Score Leaderboard Malfunction??
Yes, the 'Local' board shows '16,549', and it stays there.  Okay, that bring s up even more questions.

1. IF it is local, WHY have a local leaderboard if it does not save your score to your own system?
2. I am in the game of the Centipede (Evolved).  And I'm IN the game.  If you play the game you can see exactly where I'm at.

I'll make another video from beginning to end of my playing and getting the high score.  But a friend Lexx, who plays games said something that is more truth:

"if its anything like old school games it might not count up high enough. those high score could be over 100 thousand or even over 1 million."

So that might be the issue there.  I'm 18,000, but they are over 160,000!?!?  But, then WHY would I be in the high score area!?!  That is questionable.  Also, I do not understand what do you mean about my name.   My name is 'warrengonline', but I put in the initials 'KGR' (nothing female-ish about it).  I'll just re-do it as I stated earlier later this week.  Thanks again.

Re: High Score Leaderboard Malfunction??
You have to remember this is like an arcade setup.  When you went to the arcade and set a highscore on the machine, boom, there are your initials.  But, when they turn the machine off, bye-bye initials and hello default leaderboard.

You dont need to make a video of your whole game.  Since you only show such a small portion of your leaderboards its hard to see whats going on.

No one has broken 1 million on centipede on XBL.  The highest centipede evolved score is 140k.  Millipede is over 200k.

As far as you being in the highscore area, again i think you are confusing leaderboards.  From what i saw from your video, you had a friends list score and then when you did all time it went to 20,000s but you said something in your video that you dont have a 20k score.  in any case, you should be ranked well into the 6000s with a score of 18k.  I hope this clears some things up.

I am not referring to KGR.  I'm referring to the name you used to get the highscore
