What do you have to do for a penalty shot?

I have tried all the advice I have never gotten it and the computer never checks me.

Same with me ... I get on sooo many breakaways and all they ever do is poke check the puck away from me ... I tried for three games ...

ive been struggling with this one too but am gonna get a friend to help me as you can do it in a versus match as long as difficulty settings are set so gonna get him to to challenge me from behind as im striking a shot

just use a second controller to hit yourself in the back. It only took me one game to do because i had a friend helping.

you need to pick the all star or world team with kolvachuck and your opponents with denmark
select the best lineup and move the bumper settins so the def on denmark is extremely aggressive..
turn penalty shot on and all the rest low or to nothing... put your speed boost to full etc and your def taking hits low

you make sure kolvachuck has the puck go back to your net and quickly wait for the skaters to come back.. once they do tear it up towards the other side with your speed button... once you cross the last blue line hold shoot and you should get checked... might take 3/4 tries but this is the most easiest way ive gotten it.

I've tried every method but its impossible without the right players on your team ... also edit your lines so you got slow people and one fast one...
Reason i say kolvachuck is hes the fastest on the team i beleive or close to the best and i scored the shot with him..
make sure you dont miss the goal on the penalty shot ... do a quick left and right deke and make sure the goalies ai is low so youll score too

I've tried to get this for hours today but no joy. I must be missing something obvious. I play as the teams you've mentioned. I have all CPU slider settings at minimum and my settings at maximum; I have the penalty shot and all other penalty settings at maximum (i.e. full bars all the way right). I hold X to shoot when I cross the last blue line but I never get a penalty shot. Anything obviously wrong with the settings I'm using???

If anyone is interested (which I seriously doubt as I'm playing this game about three years too late...) I had to set the CPU as Belarus (all other setting the same). For some reason I couldn't get Denmark to concede a penalty whereas I could get three in a match against Belarus. Still took me two matches to score but, hey, it's done now!
